Yuki’s pov.
I open my eyes slowly and blink a few times. I wasn’t in my bed at home and I couldn’t recall where I was. I knew I wasn’t with Kakashi because he shared a tent with Sasuke and I when we were training. I notice Kiba and a girl who looked kind of like him. “Hana is she going to be ok?” Kiba asks. I sit up and they both look over at me. “Snow how are you feeling?” Kiba asks as he walks over to me. I shake my head a little. “Off I feel off. What happened Kiba?” I ask as I put a hand to my head. Kiba looks at the ground then a sharp laugh sounded throw the room. “Yuriko told us to take care of you.” Tsume says as she walks over to my left hand side. “How? No one but I can talk to her?” I mumble as a sharp pain shots throw my arm. ‘I used my power to help but the damage is bad. We both know that you might never be able to use that jutsu again if I didn’t ask them to help you.’ Yuriko says. I didn’t bother to answer her as I watched Kiba and how he acted around me.
“Kiba leave now. We need to take off her shirt to take a look at the damage done.” Hana says. Kiba nods and walks out of the room with 5 or 6 dogs following him. I look at Tsume and Hana confused as to what was going on. “Take off your shirt so we can see your arm better.” Tsume says. I blush a little and take off my shirt holding it against my chest as they take a look at my arm. I can hear them gasp when they see my shoulder and back. “What is this?” Hana asks as her cold hands touch my shoulder. I pull away from her and turn a little to look at her. “You’re only going to look at my arm right?” I ask. Hana looks at me and gives me a small smile. “Yes will you tell me what those marks are?” Hana asks.
I shake my head no and I can feel a hand on my left shoulder. “Yuki I want to know what it is.” Tsume says as she gently squeezes my shoulder. I couldn’t look her in the eye and just sat there letting them look my right arm over and my left hand. “She needs to go to the hospital to have this kind of damage healed quickly. It’s best if we take her there now.” Hana says as I put my shirt back on. Kiba starts to bang on the door and yelling. “Mom can I come back into my room now?” Kiba yells. I blush a little and put my hands to my face. Tsume walks over to the door and pulls it open before hitting Kiba over the head. “Yuki come with us.” Tsume says as she walks past Kiba.
Hana grabs my arm and pulls me behind her. As I walk past Kiba he shakes his head and sighs before following us. “Hana let her go she can walk on her own.” Kiba says as soon as he was walking next to me. Hana let me go and we follow his mom and sister to the hospital. As soon as we walk in Tsume turns to look at me and pulls me away from Kiba. “Kiba go out and get dinner before heading home and setting the table.” Tsume says. Kiba looks annoyed but nods and leaves. Hana and Tsume are on either side of me now making it impossible for me to run away if I wanted to. Once the doctor sees me he sighs and walks over. “Hello Yuki are you having problems with your kekkei genkai again?” he asks. Tsume shakes her head no and looks annoyed. “She hurt her right arm and left hand in training.” Hana says.
The doctor looks disappointed but gives a small nod. I let him look at my arm and he works on healing it. When he was done I walk with them back to their house. Kiba opens the door and looks mad. I hope nothing bad happened. Kiba grabs my arm and pulls me over to him away from his mom and sister. “Now that Snow is better after dinner we will go out for a walk.” Kiba says. Tsume nods and we all sit down to eat. “So Yuki tell us about that tattoo you have.” Hana says. I blush a little and look at my food like it’s the most interesting thing in the world. “What tattoo? Snow doesn’t have one.” Kiba yells as he stands up. I pull Kiba down and clear my through. “It’s…..It’s been there for a long time. Since I was 10 and I don’t really like to talk about it.” I say.
Kiba gently squeezes my shoulder and I felt a little better. When we were done eating it I was ready to go out for a walk with Kiba but Tsume wouldn’t let me go. “Until you explain this thing with Yuriko I’m not letting you leave.” Tsume says. I sigh and sit back down. Kiba gives me a small smile and held out a hand for me. I shake my head a little and look around the room. “The village I live in was poor for a while. I didn’t know that but it was long before I was born. The village made a deal with a goddess to protect them from the wars and any other dangers the village would face. She chose one maiden to hold her mark and act as a vessel to spread her word. The village agreed and offered up the village leader’s daughter. After a while the village began to no longer care to respect the deal made and killed any girl the goddess chose once she started to talk with them to help the village. I was 10 when the girl before me was killed and Yuriko’s mark showed up about an hour before she was killed. It grows every year and I had to hide it from my village. I didn’t know what it meant until Yuriko started to talk to me and that was the day I learned about my kekkei genkai.” I say.
They were silent for a while then I felt Kiba gently grab my hand. “Please don’t say anything to anyone. No one but dad, The Hokage and a few other sensei’s know about it.” I beg. They all nod their head in understanding. Kiba and I were allowed to leave so we went out on a walk and it was nice having someone know me that didn’t want to kill me. “Kiba thank you.” I say as we walk. Kiba gives me a big smile and blushes a little. “You’re welcome Snow. So what are you thanking me for?” Kiba asks as he rubs the back of his head. I sigh and shake my head a little. “For being there for me. You’re the first friend I have told about this…..”I say letting my sentence die off. I didn’t really know how to say what I needed to describe what I was thinking and feeling. Kiba grabs my hand and pulls me closer to him. “I’m glad we are friends and I can be there for you. You know that is what friends do.” Kiba says.
I pull away from him as the blush forms on my face. I had never really had friends before I came to the village so I was glad to have a few friends like Naruto, Sakura, Zaku, Mai, Sasuke and Kiba. “Is that what friends do? I’ve never had friends before so this is all new to me.” I say as I look at the ground. I can hear Kiba stop walking but I didn’t. He walks quickly to catch up to me. “You’ve never had friends before? Why didn’t you have friends?” Kiba asks. Akamaru barks happily trying to get my attention so I stop walking and bend down to let Akamaru jump up into my arms. “I was afraid to have them because of the mark. I didn’t really get along well with the other children ether. They never gave me a chance to be their friends because I had odd hair and dead eyes.” I say. I had always been made fun of by the other children in my old village.
~Flash Back~
“Mommy will the other kids play with me when their mommy’s and daddy’s are here to see you?” the 5 year old me asks. Mommy gets down on my level and gives me a small hug. “Of cores they will. You’re a sweet little girl and they will want to be your friends.” Mommy says. The bell over the door chimes and mommy stands up before walking over to the counter. I follow mommy and see a girl with light blond hair and brown eyes with her mommy. I was so happy to see a girl my age and I tugged on mommy’s skirt. “Can I go outside and play?” I ask. Mommy nods and the lady with her daughter starts to talk to my mommy. She stops to tell her daughter to go out with me and play until she was done. Once we were outside I turn to look at her. “I’m Yuki what’s your name?” I ask. She sighs and looks around before walking over to a group of girls our age.
I watch them talk for a few minutes before they all walk over to me. “You’re a freak. Who would want to be friend with a ghost like you?” One of the girls yells at me. I could feel tears start to form in my eyes. “I’m not a ghost. Why would you say that?” I ask as I take a step towards them. They scream a little and back away from me. “You have white hair and soulless eyes. Only a ghost would look like that.” They say before running away laughing. I started to cry and ran into mommy’s shop and into the back room so I could look at myself. About 20 minutes later mommy comes into the room and walks over to me. I was still crying and my eyes were all puffy and red now.
“Sweet little one did you hurt yourself when you were playing with the other kids?” mommy asks. I shake my head no and let a fresh set of tears roll down my face. “Mommy am I a ghost?” I ask as she rubs my back. Mommy has a worried look on her face now but she is shaking her head no. “No Yuki you’re not a ghost why would you think that?” Mommy asks as she pulls me into her lap. I sniff a little and rub my eyes. “The girls outside said I was a ghost and no one would ever be a friend with one.” I say before more tears fall from my eyes. Mommy looks a little mad then picks me up and carries me over to her bed. “Yuki they just don’t know what a sweet girl you are and how you are the best friend they could ever have.” Mommy says.

Kiba gently rubs my arm before pulling me into a hug. “Whatever it was it’s over now.” Kiba says. I give him a sheepish smile. I pull away from him and turn to look at the lake we were now standing by. I tough my face to feel the wetness on my face and blush a little. I was surprised that I had thought of my mother at a time like this. “We should go back to your house. I’m starting to get tired.” I say as I turn to look at him. Kiba nods and we head back to his house and up to his room. “You might have to share a room with my sister but I don’t really know what mom will do.” Kiba says. a few minutes after we got back Tsume comes up and pulls me out of Kiba’s room over to another room. “You can sleep in here well your dad is gone.” Tsume says. I nod and get comfortable on the bed before falling asleep.
Kiba’s pov.
When I get up this morning I couldn’t hear anyone walking around so I head down to the kitchen to find a note. Kiba, Hana went to work and I had to go get a new mission. Yuki went out to train and I don’t know what training ground she went to. Mom. I sigh and make myself something to eat. It was going to be a long week if Yuki got up so early to train for the exams. After I eat Akamaru and I leave the house to go find something to do today. We run into Sakura and Naruto. “Have you two seen Yuki today?” I ask. Naruto looks around then over at me. “Yuki’s back? When did she come home?” Naruto yells and he gets hit over the head by Sakura. “I haven’t seen her today but I wouldn’t mind seeing her.”Sakura says. They agree to help me find her and we start to walk around to find her.
We had gone to most of the normal training grounds that the genin would go. We had stopped to get something to drink when I see her hair. I go running after her with the other two follow me. “Yuki wait up.” I yell. She turns to look at me then looks back at the man that she was with. We finally catch up to her and she gives us a smile. “Hey guys, I was training with Ibiki-chan.” Yuki says. My eyes go wide when I notice he was one of the interrogators of the village. “Yuki what are you doing with him?” Naruto asks. I shake my head as Ibiki gives us a harsh look. “Naruto I was training with him. What are you all doing here anyway?” she asks as she shifts from foot to foot. I shake my head again and look around unsurely. “Looking for you. I was going to ask if you wanted lunch my treat for working so hard to get ready for the next part of the exam.” I say. Yuki blushes a little then looks over at Ibiki again. “Maybe tomorrow Kiba I kind of promised I would eat with Ibiki-chan today since he was helping me out.” Yuki says.
I give a small nod and turn to the others. “Naruto, Sakura do you want to go eat with me?” I ask. They give me a small nod and I give Yuki one last look. “See you later sorry again Kiba.” Yuki says before she walks away with Ibiki. I walk with Naruto and Sakura to some place to be honest I wasn’t really paying much attention. Sakura and Naruto complain about how Sasuke was having special training with Kakashi-sensei. After lunch I head home and sit in the kitchen waiting for Yuki or anyone to come home.
