third pov :: park sunghoon and baek eunju

Beautiful my love, beautiful your heart ... It's a beautiful life, it's a beautiful life

Park Sunghoon sang into the microphone, his eyes shut tightly with nerves.

It was his first time ever singing in front of a crowd, and to say he was nervous would be an understatement — However, hearing the audience cheer and sing along with him gave him a surge of confidence.

It gave him the confidence to finally open his eyes and look out at everyone that swayed side to side with their friends, holding up their phones with the flash on. It also gave him the chance to for his eyes to meet Baek Eunju's.

Instantly, he felt his heart beat fasten as the sight of her watching him, and he couldn't help but feel the urge to look away, feeling almost embarrassed in her eye line.

But, he didn't. He held the long awaited eye contact because she had to know that the song he was singing was meant for her. She just had to know...

The male could see her eyes well up with tears as her bottom lip quivered and it caused his chest to ache. He wanted to get off stage and comfort her, but he knew he couldn't.

A little while into the song, Sunghoon felt his body slump as he realized Eunju had left the area. He'd done this for her, and now she wasn't even there to watch the whole performance.

Though, he couldn't blame her... If he was in her position, he probably would've done the same. He broke her heart after all.

Sunghoon felt a wave of an unknown feeling hit him like never before as he watched as his best friend, Lee Heeseung, followed after Eunju.

It annoyed him dearly at the thought of them alone together, and he felt like he needed to intrude and pull the Baek girl away from Heeseung — but he knew that wouldn't be possible.

Once his performance came to an end and he thanked the audience, he was greeted by his friends, who (Jake) pulled him in for a pound hug.

"Nice of you to join us." Insoo commented, huffing and rolling her eyes at her brothers behavior.

"Shut your mouth, Insoo." Sunghoon shook his head, puffing his lip out in annoyance, and Insoo looked him up and down before pushing his shoulder.

"There's gonna be an after party at Miyeon's lodge." Sunoo told everybody, as he returned to the group after being dragged into many conversations.

"Really?" Jake questioned with widened eyes.

"Mm." Sunoo nodded, putting some popcorn in his mouth.

"Yes!" Jake and Jongseong spoke at the same time in excitement and playfully nudged each other while laughing amongst one another.

"You're coming, right, Hoon?" Jongseong wondered and Sunghoon shook his head and parted his lips to make up some excuse as to why he couldn't go, but before he could, his twin sister answered for him.

"He'll be there." She nodded confidently and all Sunghoon could was roll his eyes.

He wasn't going to argue with the Park girl. She was way too stubborn for that.

Now, Sunghoon sat in the circle of drunks, playing spin the bottle.

He'd yet to have the bottle lands on him yet, but he didn't care. It wasn't like he was going to kiss any of the people there anyway.

And that included Eunju. He knew she didn't want to have her first kiss in a fake relationship and he definitely knew she wouldn't want it in some silly game, so he could understand why she kept downing the shots like there was no tomorrow.

Yet, as the game continued, he couldn't help but feel concerned for the girl.

Her cheeks were vibrant pink and her eyes were drooping as she struggled to stay conscious throughout the game. All he wanted to do was take her back to her lodge and make sure she was okay. He was worried about her. Deeply.

The boys eyes met Eunju's for the hundredth time that night after it was revealed that she'd have to kiss him.

His cold expression didn't falter as his eyes trailed down to her red lips. He couldn't help but want to kiss her.

Maybe that would take their pain away...

However, before any decision could be made, the sound of Mrs Kwon approaching the lodge was heard and immediately, the students scattered.

Sunghoon was quick to get up from the floor and attempt to take Eunju to a hiding spot together and make sure she wouldn't be caught, but before he could, she had already been swooped away by her knight in shining armor, Lee Heeseung.

Anger flowed through his veins as his jaw clenched.

He was angry.

Angry at the fact that it was always going to be Lee Heeseung.

Angry because he didn't have Baek Eunju.

"Come on." Jongseong urged and shoved Sunghoon out the back of the lodge, where he then hid with Jake, and Jongseong.

He knew that once the coast was clear, the anger in his body would soon act out.

It was the next day and Eunju tiredly groaned as she walked down the aisle
of the train.

The trip was already over.

Finally...

The girl rubbed her head and squinted her eyes as the headache continued to the next day. She made a big mistake getting drunk last night.

Eunju gulped sadly as her eyes landed on Park Sunghoon.

His jaw was clenched and he had his headphones in his ears as he looked out the window — avoiding any sort of contact with the girl — with Min Heejin in the seat beside him, flicking through a magazine.

One thing Eunju could remember from last night was the argument that went on between Sunghoon, Heeseung and herself, and she was one hundred percent sure, that every student was aware of the split between the two.

She'd no longer have Sunghoon to talk to, make laugh, listen to music with, take home to her younger sister or to make her feel like the only girl in the world.

Sighing, Eunju ripped her eyes away from the boy and continued walking down the row of seats, before sitting herself down in an empty chair by the window.

Things felt different — Too different — And Baek Eunju was not liking it.

"Is this seat free?" She heard a familiar voice wonder, causing her to look away from the large window and over to the student that was pointed to the empty seat beside her.

Her eyes widened slightly and she couldn't help but feel taken aback as she nodded her head slowly.

Lee Heeseung smiled gratefully, before he sat himself down next to her and let out a sigh of relief, before he then reached into his hoodie pocket and pulled out his AirPods.

"Do you want to listen with me?" He asked, holding out his case and instantly, Baek Eunju was hit with nostalgia.

That was hers and Park Sunghoon's thing...

"No thanks.." She polity declined. "I'm probably just going to go to sleep." Eunju shrugged and Heeseung nodded in understanding.

"Remind me to never drink again." She softly chuckled, the boy falling closely behind as he bobbed his head.

"No problem."
