(y/n) was on a walk when he saw Ruby leaning on a wall.
Ruby: c'mon you piece of shit. Why won't you work?
He looked closer and saw Ruby trying to light a cigarette.
(y/n): Ruby?
Ruby: (y/n)! Perfect timing, come 'ere I need your sword for something.
(y/n): for what?
Ruby: this lighter doesn't want to work and I wanted to use your sword to light it.
(y/n): since when did you pick up smoking?
Ruby: the last few weeks. This tournament has been really stressful for me and I need something to keep me calm.
(y/n): you need to stop. That stuff can kill you.
Ruby: fuck off with that smoking kill shit.
(y/n): I thought you hated swearing?
Ruby: I know. It's just that I've been really sick recently.
(y/n): sick with what?
Ruby: everyone's shit! I'm tired of this tournament, I'm tired of my team. I'm even tired of you and Pyrrha!
(y/n): why are you tired of us?
Ruby: your relationship is so annoyingly perfect. I hate it. It makes me realize I'll never be in a happy relationship.

Ruby: I'm not a femcel! Now let me use your sword.
(y/n): fine but I'll only do this once.
He grabbed it and stabbed it in the ground and began to rev the sword. Ruby used the flame to light the cigarette. She took a small puff from it and blew the smoke.
Ruby: thank you.
(y/n): hey that's a nice trenchcoat. Looks a lot like one of Dante's old coats.
Ruby: Tai sent it to me.
(y/n): I thought you called him dad?
Ruby: shut your mouth.
(y/n): admit it. You like the fact that Dante is your dad.
Ruby: shut up!
(y/n): make me!
She grabbed her scythe and (y/n) readied his sword.
(y/n): ready?
She grabbed her cigarette and snuffed it out.
Ruby: let's go bitch!
They charged at each other but were quickly stopped by Ozpin.
Ozpin: what's going on?
(y/n): Ruby's being a femcel.
Ruby: I'm not a femcel!
(y/n): what was the last band you listened to?
Ruby: Radiohead.
(y/n): I rest my case femcel.
Ruby: fuck you.
(y/n): fuck you.
Ruby: fuck you!
She charged at (y/n) again and the two clashed weapons.
Ozpin: enough! What even is a femcel?
(y/n): it's Ruby.
Ruby: shut up!
Ozpin: enough the both of you! Stop fighting before you get others around you hurt.

They stow their weapons.
Ozpin: good.
The two walked away and (y/n) returned to his dorm.
Pyrrha: you look mad.
(y/n): I was just about to fight Ruby. She's been acting funny lately. She's started swearing, smoking, and started dressing like Dante.
Jaune: you swear as well.
(y/n): yeah but I don't do it as often as she does. Anymore.
Pyrrha: well what are you going to do?
(y/n): nothing.
Pyrrha: nothing?
(y/n): it's a phase. All we have to do is let her pass and she'll go back to normal.
Jaune: is her fighting you normal?
(y/n): we used to train together. And play fight. And fight for real sometimes. We've always been competitive with each other.
Jaune: makes sense knowing you're cousins.
(y/n): yeah. So I'm not going to do anything with her till her phase goes away.
Timeskip
(y/n) was asleep in his bed when he was awoken by a pain in his chest and the sound of something leaving out of his window. He sat up and saw a knife in his chest. His team woke up and saw (y/n) with the knife in him.
Pyrrha: are you okay?!
(y/n): yeah. It hurts but nothing I can't handle.
He removed the knife and read the note.
(y/n): I have to get going.
Pyrrha: what is it?
(y/n): it was Ruby. She wants to meet me at the arena.
Pyrrha: why?
(y/n): she wants to finish our fight.
Pyrrha: I'll come with you.
Jaune: so will I.
Nora: this sounds like it's going to be fun!
Ren: I'll go too.
(y/n): whatever.
He patched himself up, got changed into his clothes, and grabbed his weapons..
(y/n): let's go.
Timeskip
The team arrived at the arena.
Yang: hey guys up here!
(y/n): what are you doing here?!
Yang: we're here to watch the fight!
(y/n): you guys watch. I'll handle this.
Pyrrha gave him a kiss.
Pyrrha: stay safe.
(y/n): I'm always.
They walked to the stands and he began to rev his sword.
Ruby: are you ready?
(y/n): we don't need to do this.
Ruby: I do.
(y/n): I don't.
Ruby: she's making you soft.
(y/n): what?
Ruby: whatever happened to the (y/n) who would pick up his sword and fight without hesitation?
(y/n): I'm still that guy.
Ruby: no you're not. Don't you see that Pyrrha is making you weak.
(y/n): you used to be happy when I got with Pyrrha.
Ruby: I was naive. I didn't realize how much she would change you into a pussy.
(y/n): I'm not. I'm just calmer than I used to be.
Ruby: exactly. Your anger is what made you strong. Now you're weak.
(y/n): stop talking about Pyrrha.
Ruby: what are you going to do? Slap me? Going to tell me to keep your girl's name outta mouth?

Ruby: how about we make a bet for the fight?
(y/n) was a little confused but interested.

Ruby: if I win, you break up with Pyrrha and get a hair cut. I'm tired of that damn mop on your head.
(y/n): if I win, you admit the fact that you're a Sparda and Dante's daughter.
Ruby: deal.
Pyrrha: don't do this!
Ruby: shut up! Are you ready?
(y/n): yeah.
She readied her scythe and (y/n) reached for Red queen.
Play Empty
The two charged and clashed their weapons. (y/n) punched Ruby with the bringer and sent her back. She grabbed her pistols and fired at (y/n) who stopped her bullets with Blue rose. He charged at Ruby and began to swing his sword at her but she used her scythe to deflect his attacks.
Ruby: trickster!
She began to dash around him and took pot shots at (y/n). Ruby launched herself into the air and launched herself towards (y/n) who grabbed her with the bringer and suplexed her into the ground. He quickly launched her in the air with his sword and threw Aquila at her to keep her in the air. She hit the ground and changed her stance.
Ruby: royal guard! C'mon (y/n). Try and hit me.
(y/n) ran towards her and swung his sword at her. She immediately blocked the attack and hit him with a swift punch.
Ruby: I can't believe you fell for that!
(y/n): shut up!
He punched the scythe out of her hands.
Ruby: hey!
(y/n) stood up and threw Red queen at her but missed.
Ruby: well look at that. We both don't have a weapon. It has been a long time since I used my hands to fight.
(y/n): you don't even have...
She punched her fists together and summoned 2 large gauntlets.
Ruby: surprised I got a Grimm arm too?
(y/n): where did you get that?
Ruby: I found it in a box...hey! Stop talking and let's fight!
(y/n): right.
She got into a stance like a boxer and (y/n) quickly got into one himself. While they were fighting, more people came to the arena after hearing the sounds of their fighting. Soon the stadium was nearly full of curious students and people wanting to see a fight of the descendants of Sparda.
Ruby: it seems a lot of people came to watch us fight.
(y/n): let's not disappoint them.
Ruby swung at (y/n) but he quickly flipped around her and dashed to her side. He kicked her in the side and stepped back. She turned around and knocked (y/n) in the air with an uppercut and began to hit him while he was in the air. She slammed him to the ground and hit him with a ground pound. (y/n) stood up and grabbed blood berry.
Ruby: unfair!
(y/n): you wanted to give the people a good show right? I'm doing exactly that. Besides it is fair, you have a Grimm arm and I don't.
Ruby: whatever.
He struck the sword and the ground twice and sent two shockwaves towards her. She blocked both of them with royal guard and ran towards (y/n). She began to hit him but he was able to parry some of her attacks. He stabbed her in the chest and she shoved him away. She pulled out the sword and threw it at him. (y/n) caught it with the bringer and turned it off. He quickly made a fist with the bringer and it began to glow.
Ruby: what are you doing?
Suddenly the Red queen began to make a noise like it was being revved. It fired a blue flame and flew towards (y/n). He held out his hand and caught it.
Ruby: how did you...
(y/n): a magician never reveals his secrets.
Ruby ran to grab her scythe.
Ruby: gunslinger!
(y/n) summoned cavalier and drove it towards Ruby who rolled out of the way. She fired her rifle at the ground and it bounced off and began to hit (y/n) multiple times. He grabbed Blue rose and began to charge a shot, same with Ruby.
(y/n): first to pull the trigger.
Ruby: are you fast enough?
(y/n): you?
Their guns were fully charged. Both were waiting to pull the trigger. Ruby quickly loaded explosive rounds into her rifle and (y/n) loaded 2 of the special bullets Nico gave him a long while ago. They both fired their guns and hit each other. The explosion from their guns launched them both back.
Ruby: that's it! I'm ending this!
She activated her Grimm trigger and charged at (y/n) with her scythe. (y/n) quickly stood up and stowed his sword. He ran at Ruby while gripping the sword's handle. When she was close, Ruby swung at (y/n) who ducked and stabbed her with the Red queen, knocking her out of her Grimm trigger. He pulled the sword out of her and she fell to the ground on her back.
Flashback and end song

(y/n) and Ruby were fighting with their toy weapons when (y/n) beat her and she fell to the ground.
(y/n): I win again. I'm up one.
Ruby: where did you learn to count? We're even!
(y/n): don't lie. I've always been good with numbers.
He walked over and held out his hand. She grabbed it and he pulled her up.
Now
(y/n) walked up to the downed Ruby and held his hand out. She swatted it away.
Ruby: I don't need your help.
She got up and walked away.
Timeskip
Ruby was alone on the roof when (y/n) walked next to her.
Ruby: leave me alone.
(y/n): is everything you said true?
Ruby: what?
(y/n): about Pyrrha and my hair?
Ruby: no about Pyrrha but definitely your hair.
(y/n): I was considering a hair cut.
Ruby: I have a question. How did you beat me?
(y/n): you pissed me off.
Ruby: how? You didn't look angry?
(y/n): I'm not calm when I fight. I just don't show my anger. It's a trick I picked up from my mom. If you don't show your emotions in battle, your enemy can't exploit them.
Ruby: is that why you're cocky all the time?
(y/n): being cocky is the best mask.
Ruby: I was thinking, what should my new name be?
(y/n): what do you mean?
Ruby: I want to change my name tomorrow to be a Sparda but I still want my mom's name.
(y/n): how about...Rose-Sparda? Just put the 2 together, then you can have both Rose and Sparda without having to sacrifice the other.
Ruby: I like it.
(y/n): good. Let's head in.
Ruby: hey I'm sorry for stabbing you in your sleep.
(y/n): I stabbed you too. I'd say we're even.
She smiled and the two went back inside.
