ALYIAH IS SEXY; I've always known that, but seeing her on stage dancing made me even more attracted to her, if that's even possible. I couldn't take my eyes off of her; anywhere she went, my eyes followed. I admired the way her body flowed to the beat; her face was expressive, and that made her performance more enjoyable to watch. I could feel her excitement from my seat. I heard her mother, along with my family, cheering her on, causing annoyed looks to come to our section.

"I'm just so proud of her," Ms. Anderson cried. My mother was comforting her as we stood at the entrance of the auditorium, waiting for Alyiah.

"That was so cool," Emilia said as she bounced in her father's arms.

"And that's why I come back to the point that she's way out of your league," Leon said as he patted me on the back.

"Stop putting doubts in your brother's mind," dad scolded after giving him a slap on the back of his head.

"He's just jealous," I smirked, while my brother, being the immature person he is, stuck out his tongue.

"Well-"

"My baby," Ms. Anderson sobbed, effectively cutting off Leon.

She rushed over to Alyiah, quickly squeezing her tight. From where I stood, I could see Alyiah biting her lip and tilting her head upwards; she always did this when trying not to cry. She hugged her mother just as tight, and in my peripheral vision, I could see mom getting teary; she was always empathic. When they finished having their moment, Emilia immediately dropped herself from her father's arm and ran over to Alyiah, followed closely by my mother. The three had gotten closer after she visited more, and Emilia decided she was in love with her after she tried her cookies.

"You were amazing," Emilia gushed, bouncing up and down on Alyiah's hip.

"Thank you," she blushed.

"Don't act shy now," my mom smirked, causing Alyiah to blush even harder.

"Why don't we continue this over dinner?" my dad piped up.

"Always one to think about his stomach," I heard my mother mutter.

"You guys can come over; I can cook up something," Ms. Anderson smiled.

"Let's go," my dad said, quickly taking off towards the car.

"I don't know how he isn't fat," my mother chuckled, trailing behind him, bringing Emilia and collecting Leroy, who was flirting with another dancer.

"Are you going with Leo?"

"Yeah, I'll see you at home," she said, kissing her mom on the cheek.

"We might make a detour."

"Just bring her home safe," her mother said, patting me on the arm before giving one last smile to her daughter.

Her mother walked off, leaving us together. I grabbed her hand and intertwined our fingers together. I led her to where I had parked, swinging our hands as I did. There was a comfortable silence between us as we walked, and I couldn't fight the smile that made its way to my lips.

"I haven't held your hands in so long," I told her as I opened her car door.

"I missed it," she said, climbing in, and I closed the door before rushing to my side.

"It's your fault," I said as I started the engine.

"No, it's not," she pouted.

"You came over to my house yesterday, and I saw you for approximately nineteen minutes," I complained.

"Well, I'm trying to make a good impression."

"They're stealing you away from me," I whined.

"You're so dramatic," she laughed, causing me to smile.

My favorite sound in the world

"Where are we even going?"

Somewhere, no one can steal you from me," I said, looking over at her.

"Are you taking me to our spot?"

Our spot—I loved that.

"No, I'm giving you a new experience."

"Are you going to tell me?"

"Well, I wanted to make it a surprise, but I can tell you if you want."

"I trust you."

I placed my hand on her exposed thigh, silently telling her how much that meant to me. Her fingers traced over the veins lining my hand and fiddled with the rings on each finger. Her soft touch caused me to shiver, making me grip her thigh even tighter. The car was in a comfortable silence, and that was one thing I loved about our relationship—that we didn't have to force a conversation; I could sit in silence with her the whole day and still be the happiest man alive. There was something about Alyiah that drew you to her; the first time I ever saw her, I remember needing to be close to her. She looks ethereal; it was as if the perfect girl I've always dreamed of was right in front of me, and before I even could talk to her, that asshole took her and treated her as if she were dirt, and because of that, she doubts herself, which is something I hate to see her do.

Now that I have her, I promise to give her the absolute best.

The smell of the sea and the sound of waves crashing brought me out of my thoughts; we had finally arrived. The grip that Alyiah had on my hand let me know how excited she was. I've noticed that anywhere in nature, she will get this reaction out of me. Turning off the engine, Alyiah quickly made her way outside while I grabbed one of my hoodies for her. As I stood at the door of the car, I was met with the most beautiful sight, Alyiah stood basking in the moonlight; her skin was almost like glitter the way it glistened; the smile on her face couldn't be missed as she stared up into the sky. Taking out my phone, I took a quick snap of her, setting it as my wallpaper.

"Why are we even here?" She asked, snapping me out of the slight daze I was in.

"You're beautiful," I answered, completely irrelevant to what she asked but I just had to let her know.

"What?" She turned to look at me.

"It's not fair how pretty you are," I couldn't stop myself. "You're really pretty, no not just pretty. You're beautiful, majestic, ethereal, perfect, a dream and I would go in if I knew any other adjectives."

"Shut up," she blushed as she looked down at her shoes.

"Never," I took her hand in mine and started our journey to the shore.

"You didn't answer my question before," she said after a while.

"I just remembered you saying you wanted to go on a romantic beach walk," I shrugged, "and besides I haven't spent much time with you after our date."

"We see each other everyday at school," she said wrapping her other hand around my bicep and pulling herself closer.

"We talk to each other for five minutes before you rush off to study," I looked at her with a deadpanned expression.

"Sorry, finals are around the corner and I get agitated," she smiled sheepishly.

"It's not the fact that you want to study, its just I want to be around you. I don't care if we talk or not, I just want to touch you or even look at you and I'll be perfectly fine," we stopped at the edge of the shore but not close enough for the water to reach us.

"You're very distracting, every time I see you I wanna kiss you and I don't think it helps when you just sit and stare at me," she blushed as she spoke. "I also want to spend time with you but I'm just really nervous about the future, I mean we're graduating in a few weeks.

"Okay," I hugged her from behind.

"But I'll make time for you, seeing as you are important to me and I want to keep you forever," her leaned back onto my chest and she raised my hand to her lips.

"I love when you talk about me like that."

"Like what?" Her head tilted up to look at my face.

"Like you've been planning for the future," I smiled down at her and watched as a blush raised to her cheeks.

"I'd like to think you're someone I'll have in the future," she looked away from me and at the ocean.

"Don't worry, I already have our wedding planned out." I placed my chin on her head, "It'll be an outside wedding so we have to do it in the summer, for cake I'm think red velvet and-"

"Red velvet?" She tore herself from my grip.

"What's wrong with red velvet?"

"Everything," she flung out her arms for exaggeration, "I don't want to be eating a boring flavor on one of the biggest days of my life."

"First of all red velvet is not boring, secondly a lot of people like red velvet and thirdly you like red velvet," I listed holding three fingers to her face.

"Firstly red velvet is literally the most basic cake ever literally everyone has it as a wedding cake, secondly I don't care what a lot of people like its our wedding and thirdly I like red velvet but I'm not going to eat it at my wedding, this is a day where all the people who hate me will be watching hoping I fail and imagine how happy they'll be that I have the most common wedding cake flavor ever." she explained.

This is kinda turning me on

"So what do you recommend?"

"I'll let you know when I have them in order," she smiled.

"I'm glad we sorted this out before the cake testing."

"Yeah," she nodded suddenly solemn.

"What's wrong?"

"Are you sure you want to be with me? Were taking about marriage here and I don't want to be talking about this if I know in a couple of months my heart will get broken, I-"

"I never want to be without you," I reassured, "you would think my clinginess would show you that."

"Yeah but that's just for now-"

"Shut up," I interrupted and before she could say anything I crashed my lips to hers. Kissing her was something I couldn't get used to, the butterflies in my stomach got even more hectic and the feeling of floating was always there. Her hands roamed around my chest until they clasped around my neck. My hands gripped her waist tight, trying my best to pull her tighter. Our lips moved in sync and as she pulled away, biting my lip as she did, I couldn't help the whimper that escaped my mouth.

"I haven't kissed in so long," I muttered breathlessly.

"I've missed it," she giggled. "Me too," I went in for another kiss but she shrieked. "What happened?"

"The water's cold," she explained, looking down at her wet legs.

"Wanna go in," I wiggled my eyebrows.

"I just said the water was cold and that's your response," she rolled her eyes.

"But it'll be fun," I said removing my sneakers.

"And you're gonna go in the car wet?"

"No, I have spare clothes for moments like this," I said pulling my shirt over my head.

"Oh," I looked at her only to see her eyeing me up and down.

"So you coming in?"

"Absolutely not," she shook her head.

"Suit yourself," I shrugged.

The water was freezing cold, but I was use to it from ice baths. I turned to look at her and I saw her silhouette in the moonlight, her laughter rung out in the empty space and I couldn't help but just smile at the sound.

"Get out of there you're shivering," she shouted.

"I haven't been in for long."

"You'll get sick and I'm not gonna kiss someone's whose sick," I could imagine the face she was making. Her arms were probably crossed and her lips in a slight pout while here eyebrows furrowed, that was her serious face.

'I'm coming," I shouted, high-kneeing out the water.

As she saw me approaching she quickly backed away from me, "Don't even come close to me."

"Why?" I asked stepping closer.

"You know why," she held out her hands and walked backwards.

"But I really want a hug," I said opening my arms.

"No," she shrieked and ran off.

And that's how we spent the next fifteen minutes together, her running away from me and me chasing her until she finally got tired and accepted defeat. I grabbed her waist from behind and lifted her in the air, the hoodie she had on was no wet and she laughed as she tried to pull away from me.

"Okay, you can stop now," she said through her laughter.

Placing her down I turned her around so I could look at her, and in that moment where a wide grin was on her face and her cheeks were flushed by running I couldn't help but blurt out the words I was desperately trying to hold on to.

"I love you."
