Ayansh's pov-
Here we are, in front of the mini bus we rented for the one side trip to reach there. . The driver is loading the suitcases into the bus.
"Bhai, yeh pakdna zara." [["Bhai, hold this."]] Aadhya says handing me her phone. Her phone's front camera was on and she was touching up her lip gloss. I hear someone chuckle at this. It was Siya. I glare at her. "Aren't you enjoying it a lot!" I whisper to her. She scrunches her nose and holds her left ear mouthing a sorry.
So the good part is, me and Siya are going to Nainital. Yayyyy.
But the wOrst part is, it is a sibling's trip.
Once Aadhya was done, I turned to Siya and squint my eyes while I fold my arms near my chest. So this was the reason she told me to book a minibus?
"Bura mat maniye na. Woh actually, Muskaan ko laga ki woh akeli bore ho jayegi aur hum dono ke beech me kabab me haddi ki tarha dikhegi, to usne Aadhya ko bula liya, Aadhya aur Abeer alag kaise ho skate hai, to ab Abeer bhi chal raha hai. Abeer ne galti se Vidhaan ke samne yeh trip ke bare me zikr kar diya to Vidhaan bhi saath chal raha hai. Aur Muskaan ko laga ki ghar pe humari vakalat karne ke liye koi to hona chahiye to usne Meera bhabhi ko sab bata diya, jo ki sab Ridhaan ne sun liya and jake Shaurya bhaiya ko bata diya, to ab woh bhi saath chal rahe hai, aur jab bhabhi aur bhaiya chal rahe hai to maine socha Ridhaan ko bhi le chalte hai." She finishes in one breath.
I was just too stunned by her. This was supposed to be 'our' trip, this was supposed to be 'our' alone time. When I don't speak, she assumes that I am mad at her.
[["Don't feel bad. Actually, Muskaan felt that she would be bored alone and would feel like a third- wheel between the two of us, so she called Aadhya. How can Aadhya and Abeer be separated, so now Abeer is also joining. When Abeer accidentally mentions about this trip in front of Vidhaan, Vidhaan is also going along with him. And Muskaan felt that there should be someone to advocate for us at home, so she told everything to Meera bhabhi, all of which was heard by Ridhaan and he told Shaurya Bhaiya everything. So now he is also coming along, and when sister-in-law and brother are coming, I thought let's take Ridhan too."]]
"Ab aap gussa mat kijiye na Ansh." She calls me with an extra layer of sweetness. Ansh. She called me for the first time and that too with a nickname. Hayeee. Hey mahadev!!
[["Don't be mad now, Ansh."]]
Siya's pov-
"Ab aap gussa mat kijiye na Ansh." Shit, what did I just call him? Shit, shit, shit. But wait, is he melting? Omg yes he is. I hold his hand and show him my extra convincing puppy eyes.
"Fine, I can't tell them to go back anyways." He smiles.
"Siya, Muskaan, aajao ab." Shaurya bhai calls us. [["come now"]]
"Let's go." I sequel out.
I climb the bus after Muskaan followed by Ayansh. Shaurya bhai and Meera bhabhi were sitting together while Muskaan and Aadhya were in the back seat. Vidhaan was sitting alone and Abeer too. Did I forget to mention that Vihaan and his wife Riddhi also joined us when he heard all the juniors are going together, and of course it was Abeer who told him. They both occupied the only seat left.
"Buaa, main apke saath bethonga." Ridhaan cooed while holding my hand. I just nodded my head with a smile. [["I want to sit with you buaa (father's sister)."]]
Author's pov-
"Abeer, chal uth wahan se. Jake Vidhaan ke saath beth." Ayansh spoke from behind Siya. [["Abeer, get up and go sit with Vidhaan."]]
"Whattt, kyun bhai?" Both Vidhaan and Abeer cringed. [["Whattt, why brother?"]]
"To hum kahan bethenge?" Ayansh questioned. [["So we could sit there."]]
"Siya bhabhi mere saath beth jaengi." Abeer smirked. [["Siya bhabhi can sit with me."]]
"Are nahi kyunnn, Siya bhabhi mere saath bethengi." Vidhaan declared.
[["Hey whyy, she will sit with me."]]
Ayansh knew this was coming. "Tum dono chup karo. Chal jaldi uth ab, Abeer." He ordered. [["Shut up you both. Get up Abeer."]]
"Kyun bhai, saaf saaf kyun nahi kehte ki apko unke saath bethna hai." Vidhaan teased. [["You should tell us clearly that you want to sit with her."]]
"Tum dono zyada nahi bolne lag gaye ho? Aur waise bhi is trip pe sirf Siya aur main jane wale-" Before Ayansh could complete Siya shut him up with her hands on his lips. Her eyes widened at the words he just spoke. [["You both should start controlling your tongues. Anyways this trip was meant to be for me and Siya alone-."]]
All the eyes were on them now. Their teasing gazes spoke everything without uttering a word.
"Bhai shadi tak ka to intezaar karlo" Abeer teased them further. [["At least wait till marriage."]]
Before anyone else could say anything, Siya buried her face in her hands while her forehead laid on Ayansh's chest. Everybody laughed out looking at them, including Ayansh. Siya slapped his chest lightly but he wrapped his arm around her in return.
"Chalo chalo bus karo ab. Meri behen isse pehle tamatar ban jae un dono ke bethne do." It was Shaurya this time. [["That's enough now, before my sister turns into a tomato, let them sit."]]
Abeer quickly emptied the seat and sat with Vidhaan.
Finally their trip started and everyone was boosted up with energy. They were all singing, playing and laughing with each other. Ridhaan slept on the last seat, where bags were kept earlier, comfortably.
It was 2 hours into the road trip, when the crowd was silent and sound asleep. Abeer, Vidhaan, Shaurya, Muskaan, Aadhya and Vihaan were sleeping using the available sleeping pillows. Meera slept on Shaurya's shoulder and same was Riddhi's approach. Since Ayansh wasn't sleepy, he decided to utilise this time to know more about Siya.
They were both exchanging a comfortable conversation, where mostly Ayansh spoke and Siya just agreed or disagreed. She would yawn a few times in between which didn't go unnoticed by Ayansh. To their luck they were sitting on the last seat due to which Ayansh now angled the backrest of the seat almost in a lying position. Siya was still uncomfortable with her legs so he picked her legs and placed them on his lap. Being sleepy Siya didn't mind or rather noticed anything. She shifted her posture in such a way that now her back was facing the window and she was facing Ayansh while her legs lay straight on his lap. Ayansh took her jutis [a kind of indian footwear] out and placed them on the floor of the mini bus. He started massaging her feet with a light hand while she slept peacefully and with a smile on her face. His heart was at ease.
He didn't know when seconds turned into minutes and minutes into hours. All he knew was his eyes weren't ready to move.
It was another hour or so before his trance broke. Click, click. Suddenly a camera shutter voice was heard. It was Abeer of course who clicked pictures. He clicked pictures of Ayansh and Siya in that position with an intention to show it to everyone later and tease the hell out of them. Ayansh could care less at this point because now he knew if it was for her that he had to take in all the teasing, he would happily take a bullet.
Known to the fact that their families want them to marry, Ayansh had somewhere already created that soft spot for Siya as her life partner in his heart. This trial period, for him, was meant to make Siya fall in love with him too. It was meant for him to create the same soft spot in her heart. Oh god and was he completely in love with her? Yes, he was whipped. His world started with her eyes and ended under her feet. He didn't realise till now that he was capable of loving and cherishing someone like this until she happened to him.
