"Dorinda move! and go change your clothes it looks too tight!" Jacky yelled as she helped the girls get ready for church
Dorinda dreaded to her bedroom with her head down, Jacky could be rude to her at times and Dorinda didn't understand why.
Dorinda felt a tight grip on her arm "you look beautiful, forget what Jacky says" Damon smirked before walking away.
"hey D you okay?" Karen walked up behind Dorinda as she stared at Damon walking away.
"O-Oh yeah I'm fine, i'm gonna go change before I hear Jacky's mouth again" Dorinda & Karen giggled
As Dorinda changed into a nice white flower dress
that wasn't too tight she went back into the front room seeing her mother had arrived back from her trip.
"Mama!" Karen and Dorinda ran over to Mattie tugging on her dress, Damon also greeted Mattie.
"Oh so y'all don't see me huh?" Elbert entered with Twinkie beside him.
Dorinda smiled running over to her daddy, ever since diapers Dorinda was a Daddy's girl.
"Hey Mr Clark" Damon smirked
Elbert nodded his head at Damon as he held Dorinda's hand "You can leave"

I woke up to tears in my eyes, having dreams about my father made me miss him more. It made me wish I wouldn't have said anything to him about Damon.
"Dorinda what's wrong?" Rashun rushed in the room hearing my cries.
"I-I can't do this anymore" I wiped my tears as he threw his arms around me.
"baby what's wrong? what happen?" Rashun held me tightly
"If I would of never said anything my father would still be here, this is all my fault" I cried
"Ma, I promise this is not your fault Damon gone pay for everything he did. your father did what he needed to do which is protect you and i'm gonna do the same" Rashun slowly got up grabbing his keys.
"W-Where are you going?" I quickly wiped my tears
"Don't worry about it, Doe just rest for me okay?" He left out the door
My leg began to shake wondering what Rashun was about to do, I grabbed my phone pushing my mothers contact.
"hey Dorinda everything okay?" She quickly answered the phone
"can you please come over here with Karen please, Rashun just left and I don't know where he's going" I ran my hand in my hair
"Alright I'm on my way" She said before hanging up
I quickly went downstairs looking in the cabinets for any liquor I could find, I had a bottle of vodka left over.
Pouring it into a cup I took a few sips before my mother and Karen barged in.
"Dorinda really!" My mother yelled seeing the bottle, I quickly threw the bottle in the garbage.
"Liquor is not gonna help you in this situation! you know better" my mother yelled looking the cabinet's
"I thought I threw everything away" Karen shook her head.
"I'm tired of y'all telling me what to do, Mama I am grown now" I snapped
"Dorinda look! I understand you are going through things but your only digging a deeper hole for yourself, this is not you" Mama yelled
"Mama I don't even know whats me anymore, I'm tired okay? I haven't been myself for years and I probably never will be" I cried
Karen and Mama sat down next to me "Dorinda this is something you will get through, we will help you get through this" Karen spoke
I cried on my mother's shoulder, everything was crumbling right before my eyes. Damon had this hold on me forever and I knew it wouldn't change.
"Dorinda please get rest, I'll call Rashun to see what he's.." Karen was cut off by Rashun walking in.
"you good baby?" He looked over at us while I nodded, I knew something was wrong because he always greeted Karen & Mama.
As Rashun walked upstairs I followed behind him while Mama and Karen cleaned the kitchen.
"Dorinda why aren't you resting?" He turned around as he seen me behind him.
"Rashun we need to talk" I rubbed my eyes feeling how dry they were.
He nodded and walked into my bedroom "wassup?"
"Where did you go? you know I haven't been here mentally and you leaving like that doesn't make it any better" I explained
"I just went out to get some air that's all ma, you need rest Doe i'm not joking" He pulled me to the bed
"You stormed out and it made me s-scared Rashun, I had to call my mama and Karen" tears fell
"I'm sorry I wasn't tryna scare you Dorinda, I just needed to do sum right quick it had nothing to do with you"
The look in Rashun's eyes made me believe the words he was saying, the only thing I could do was believe his word.
He pulled me into his arms "didn't I tell you I gotchu forever? I wasn't lying when I said that Doe"
"you have to bare with me, I've been through alot and words don't mean anything to me" I looked up at him.
He nodded "promise me you gone get some rest"
I knew I wasn't gonna be able to rest, after my family didn't believe what Damon did years back I left and decided to do something I would of never thought I would have to do.
My anger won't let me sit and rest, working was my get away.
"I'll..shit" I moaned feeling my bones tighten up "Doe what's wrong?"
