"I'm home!" You shouted as you entered your apartment, placing your keys in the bowl next to the door before discarding your jacket on the couch. You were surprised to be met with silence since Taeyong always greeted you when you came home with a kiss and a hug.
"Tae?" You questioned as you made your way to your bedroom where you got a glimpse of your bedside lamp, indicating that he probably fell asleep waiting for you to get home from work.
You knocked gently on the door that was slightly ajar before entering. To your surprise, you were met with a tearful Taeyong, who when noticed you, wiped his face to hide any remains.
"Hey baby," He sniffled before getting out of bed to hug you, "How was work?"
You didn't say anything, instead pulling away to look Taeyong in the eyes. He was never good at hiding his emotions, "What's wrong Tae?" You whispered as you placed a hand on his cheek, using your thumb to wipe away the tears that fell without him realizing. You noticed that on the bed Taeyong had the laptop open and was watching clips from the recent NCT beyond live concert, then you knew what was wrong, "Come here."
Ten or so minutes later, you were sitting in the bathtub, Taeyong sitting against the tub as you rested your back against his front. His arms wrapped securely around your waist as you played with his fingers. He was silent for the most part, you knew it was a touchy subject. He felt like absolute shit the past week, but you had to remind him that it wasn't his fault.
"I'm not going to be the one to say everything will be alright and act like I know how you are feeling because I don't," You stated, moving your body to the side so you were facing him, "I know you're hurting and you feel bad for taking this hiatus, but I need you to put yourself first for once and see that this is the best thing for you right now."
"I know," He said softly, placing one of his hands on your knee, "I just feel bad for taking the hiatus so close to the concert. The guys are working their asses off just to fill in for me and I know how exhausted they are."
"Listen to me baby. I know that the guys and myself would rather you be on hiatus right now than have to leave the group because your back was so damaged that you would be unable to dance. I know it sucks, but they are doing this for you."
Taeyong smiled at your statement and nodded in understanding before pulling you closer and placing a kiss to your plump lips, "I love you, you know that right?" You nodded and smiled brightly before placing your head against his chest.
"How about we finish up here and we'll go see the guys. Jaehyun told me that they were going to be there for a few more hours. I'll order food for us all."
"I like that idea," He murmured, feeling thankful that you were there to keep him sane.
