My intern said during surgery reading my pager, I looked at them slightly dumbfounded,
'well what am I being paged for and who by?',
I asked them slightly annoyed, the intern looked back down at it,
'uh it says your being paged to the Chiefs office',
The intern said, I nodded my head at her and continued to operate,
'okay grab my phone and text Chief Karev and ask him what he needs',
I said to my intern, I looked across at Meredith who was operating with me,
'any thoughts?',
I asked Meredith as the intern did what I had said, Meredith shook her head at me,
'no thoughts but for him to page you it seems like it's official business not personal',
Meredith said to me, I sighed slightly and stepped back from the patient,
'you can finish this up right',
I said to her, she nodded her head at me and looked at me slightly concerned,
'good luck',
Were the last words I heard as I walked out of the operating room. I quickly got out of my operating gear and made my way to Alex's office,
'Hello wonderful boyfriend how can I help you?',
I asked him as he did some paperwork, he looked up at me before shaking his head at me slightly. I nodded my head at him understanding,
'right so you are my boss in this moment and not my boyfriend'.
