"Do I have to go?" Nick asked
Nick Campbell had come to 2020. Surprising teenagers Harper and Griffin. He had warned them about the troubles that were coming their way, and he had informed them of his presents. Though, it was nighttime. Harper, Griffin, and their son Nick did try to out action to the situation. They had trailed the halls of the Tremont, not alerting anyone about their travels or their secret son. However, those travels eventually had to come to an end. No one admits it, but the 2 teens and the kid had lots of fun together, cracking awful jokes at random times, embarrassing mishaps that always trigger a laugh, and just pure playfulness. Harper, Griffin, and Nick were walking down the bunker hall, getting ready to escort Nick back to 2054 or the night.
"Your parents- I mean future us is gonna start to get worried," Griffin reminded
Nick rolled his eyes.
"Don't worry Nick, we'll see you tomorrow" Harper reassured as she opened the bunker door.
"Yeah, but tomorrow's so far" The 11-year-old complained, making Griffin chuckle.
"It's okay!" Harper set the timeline in the time machine "We'll start bright and early tomorrow"
"Ok," Nick pouted. Griffin then hugged his son tightly, along with Harper
"Bye, Bud" Harper muttered
"Bye," Nick mumbled back, as he sagged down the hallway, going to the set stairs.
Both Griffin and Harper took note of how sad they left the child. They really liked Nick and were eager to spend more time with him and learn more about him.
"He seems really down" Griffin quoted
"I know right" Harper agreed
"Maybe he should stay?"
"Maybe he should stay" Harper confirmed
Griffin smiled before nodding
"NICK!" Griffin called out.
Just then a smiling Nick rushed over to them.
"So..."
"We were thinking" Griffin started. He looked at Harper
"Buddy, Would you stay?" Harper asked
"Really?" Nick spoke
Griffin nodded
"What about my future parents?"
"We'll make sure to get you back early" Harper shrugged off
"So, Could you stay?"
"Yeah, Of course, I'll stay," Nick said, before dashing out the bunker door, and down the hallway
"NICOLAS!" Harper exclaimed before she and Griffin ran after him there selfs

Eventually, Harper and Griffin caught up to Nick and made it up to the Tremont Hotel. Fortunately, the Dunn's were spending the night, allowing Harper to change into her pajamas with Griffin. Additionally, Griffin located a pair of PJs for Nick that matched their own red and black flannel ensembles. With all three comfortably clothed, they laid down on Griffin's bed looking at the ceiling above them. Nick was in the middle of Harper and Griffin.
"What should we do?" Harper wondered
"We could do a splish" Nick suggested
"A splish?" Griffin questioned
"Oh, I guess that's more of a 2054 thing" Nick stated. Harper and Griffin chuckled.
"I know something we could do" Griffin finally spoke, with a smile
"What, Griffey?" Harper questioned
"Yeah, what Griffey?" Nick repeated
"I'll be back" Griffin stated, before standing up from his bed, slipping on his slides. He then walked over to the door.
"Oh Nick, there's a bunch of ice cream downstairs, by the way," Griffin said, standing at the helm of the door.
"Really?" Nick said, with a smile
"Yeah, I'm sure my lovey can show you where it is," Griffin spoke before walking out the door, shutting it behind him.
"Aw, is this the first time he referred to you as 'beloved?'" Nick asked.Harper nodded and chuckled. "Is it going to stick?"
"Definitely," Nick replied
He and Harper stood up from Griffin's bed, "C'mon, let's go get a sweet treat!" They quietly walked downstairs to the kitchen area of the Tremont and Harper opened the large cooler containing loads of ice cream and popsicles. She gestured to Nick, saying, "Okay Bubs, this is where we keep all the treats."
"Woah," Nick said, amused
"Get anything you want" Harper announced
"Anything?"
"Anything" Harper confirmed
Nick then dug in, searching for an ice cream
"But I have to get Griffin something too"
"Do you think he wants a chocolate ice cream or a Vanilla?" Harper asked
Nick then stopped his motions and looked at Harper. They both raised an eyebrow
"Chocolate," Harper and Nick said in sync
They both laughed
...
In time, Harper and Nick had obtained their ice cream before exiting the kitchen of the Tremont and advancing to its front entrance. Upon arriving there, they were both welcomed by Griffin.
"Are you guys ready?" Griffin asked
"Ready for what?" Nick questioned
Griffin leaned down to Nick's level "The best night of your life" He smiled
Nick giggled
"Look, we got you an ice cream," Nick handed the treat to Griffin
"It's chocolate. My favorite. How did you know?" Griffin wondered
Nick looked at Harper
"Just a lucky guess," Nick remarked
Griffin nodded with a beam
Griffin emphasized, "C'mon, let's go on an adventure!" He then proceeded to take Harper's hand and place his other hand on Nick's back, leading them both out of the hotel doors.
Griffin, Harper, and Nick walked down the steps of the porch. Only a little farther until they reached their endpoint.
"Woah" Harper spoke
"I found my dad's old golf cart," Griffin informed
"Grandpa's?" Nick asked
"Grandpa's!" Griffin confirmed
"Does it still work?" Harper questioned
It was time to find out what the golf cart had in store for them, and Griffin suggested they could only do so by trying it out. Harper, Griffin, and Nick shared the front seat as they placed their ice creams in the built-in cooler. With that, the three embarked on their adventure in the four-seater golf cart.
The "Campbells" talked, and laughed as they cruised along the quiet roads of Sulphur Springs. The calm wind blew through their hair.
"Where do you wanna go?" Griffin asked Harper
"We could go to-"
"Anywhere but home" Nick interrupted
Griffin giggled
They sat in silence for a while, until Nick spoke up
"Dad?
Griffin didn't say anything
"That's you" Harper reminded
"Oh right"
"Yeah, bud?" Griffin replied
"Can I drive?" Nick asked
"Um..."
Before Griffin had a chance to respond, Nick gave him his most pleading look, complete with sticking out his lower lip. Griffin found himself unable to refuse; he simply said "Fine" and Nick smiled in response.
"Those puppy eyes will always be the death of me" Griffin sighed
"I know, I get it from Mom," Nick said
Griffin glanced at Harper, who had a wide smile like that of a toddler. This caused Griffin to laugh before he stopped the golf cart and picked up Nick, placing him in his lap. With Griffin's foot on the accelerator, Nick guided them forward with remarkable ability
"You're doing great, Nick" Griffin praised. He smiled
With Griffin's directions, Nick drove them to a lake. Griffin then parked the cart and they retrieved their ice creams before taking up their places in the two available back seats in the golf cart, with Nick sitting once again on Griffin's lap. All three of them observed the peaceful glimmer of the lake, illuminated by moonlight.
"It's so pretty isn't it?" Harper spoke
"Really pretty" Nick agreed
Griffin and Harper both smiled
"Well Nick" Harper started. He grinned
"I'm really glad you stayed"
"I'm glad I stayed too!" Nick uttered
All three of them resumed consuming their ice cream while admiring the natural surroundings. The tranquil sounds of the environment were making them sleepy. Eventually, Griffin was aware of a steady breathing sound, and upon glancing downwards, he saw Harper dozing off on his chest with Nick in his lap asleep too, with their hands interlocked. Griffin beamed before lightly pecking both their heads, then draped his arms around them tightly. He looked at his beloveds fondly.
