"You can have the rest of class to work on homework. When you're done, bring it to me, I will check it, and give you your phone back."
Of course that means the noise level goes up, even though it wasn't silent to begin with. Reese constantly refers to his notes as he copies down the steps for his homework problems. It's going fine, just slow, he sees as he glances over at the boy diagonal from him speeding through the questions.
He's not sure when it starts but the chattering becomes amplified in his ears, making it feel so much louder and distracting than he knows his classmates are being. The ticking of the clock on the wall adds onto it, making it feel almost impossible for him to concentrate. He tries anyways and ends up more frustrated with himself for not having idea how to the problem, despite his notes right next to him.
When he focuses on the loudest conversation, he realizes it's about the homework but nothing anyone is saying is making sense. Not even when they call the teacher over to see if they're right. Reese sighs and keeps his pencil over the paper to make it look like he's busy.
Reeses mood doesn't improve when he glances at the phone box and sees that almost everyone has their phones.
"Dude, it's easy!" Someone says to their friend.
He's grateful when he hears the teacher tell everyone to pack up. It takes only a minute and then Reese has his phone and is putting earbuds into it, needing a distraction.

Reese waits in front of the lockers next to his classroom and feels a wave of relief wash over him when he sees the older girl. Nina is quick to wrap him in a hug that the boy sinks into.
"This is really comfortable", Reese mumbles.
"I'm glad you think so. You have lunch, right?"
"Mhm. Jaemin or Haechan make us all lunch."
"That's nice of them. Lele makes my lunch sometimes or if I forget, one of them brings me something."
"I want lunch brought to me."
"I'm sure we can figure something out."
"Reese, who's that?" One of his classmates calls out to him, grinning at the two hugging.
"Why does it matter?"
"Is that your girlfriend?"
"No offense, Nina, but I kind of wanna throw up now."
"I'm also disturbed." Nina looks at the three boys still staring and rolls her eyes. "We're family. You can go now."
"You look like creeps, leave", a new voice says.
"Who are they?"
This time, Reese rolls his eyes. "Family or family friends. We good now?"
Alya glares until the trio disappears and then focuses her attention on Reese. "You feeling better now?"
He nods. "Nina's hugs feel nice."
"We should find somewhere to sit and eat. I'm hungry."

"Hey, buttercup, how was school?"
"That's because my name is Reese, isn't it?"
"Yeah. Do you hate it?"
"It's alright. I just remember being a kid and other kids finding joy in calling me a reese's peanut butter cup or reese's pieces."
"Reese's pieces is kinda cute though, no?"
Reese gives the man a look. "Do you think Marky is cute?"
"Okay, I see your point. Really though, how was your day?"
"Are you curious or did one of the girls text you?"
"Wait, did something happen?"
"Just got stressed earlier and needed a five-minute hug. Nina hugged me, which was nice." Mark opens his arms and squeezes Reese when he hugs him. "You're warm."
"Really? I think Jaemin and Haechan are the warmest."
"They do have that warm, cuddly vibe. Especially Haechan. He reminds me of a teddy bear."
"I agree."
"Hey", Jaemin says, entering the house with Minjae and Affinity.
"Hi, pretty", Mark greets quietly before kissing him.
"Hi, Bubs." When they pull away, Jaemin pulls Reese in for a hug and smiles at him. "Hi, you." While the two hug, Minjae and Affinity take turns hugging Mark. Remembering the mail in his hands, Jaemin searches for a specific envelope. "The orphanage sent us a letter."
The five huddle together as Jaemin opens the envelope and takes out a flyer inviting them to a mother-son dance. Jaemin skims to rest of the text and realizes why they received it.
"That's nice."
The three kids make mumbled sounds of agreement, having lost interest in the letter as it doesn't apply to them. Mark watches them with worry, unable to tell if they're truly okay or not.
Searching for a snack in the fridge, Minjae tells them, "You'll probably get another letter next month. There's a father-daughter dance too."
"Do you wanna go?"
"I do!" Affinity calls from the living room.
"Sure", the teen adds.

"What happened when Haechan found you?"
"He told me to get down but I didn't wanna go inside so I got down and ran away." Lenas mouth falls open in shock, making Alyssa laugh. "He got me eventually. He was pissed. When we went inside, I started crying and Kade finally decided to come out of his room to ask why I was crying."
Lenas eyesbrows twist in confusion. "Kade's the oldest, right?"
"Yeah."
"Then why wasn't he watching you? Or helping?"
Alyssa sighs. "He didn't have to. My mom put everything on Haechan."
"What the hell? That's not fair. And you were small so he was a kid too, right?"
"Yep. It was honestly Haechan looking out for both of us. I was small and honestly a brat so I couldn't do anything about it and it took Kade so fucking long to realize how bad his relationships with me and Haechan are. Haechan got the worst but Kade used to be horrible at showing that he cares. He's kinda awkward about it sometimes too. He'll just demand to know if I like things or that I accept something he gives me."
"That seems kinda sweet though. I mean that he's trying and his way of doing it is giving gifts. Does he do the same with Haechan?"
"Sometimes but with Haechan, all you really have to do is hug him. Kade once asked me what Haechans favorite restaurant is so I think they go out to eat."
"I do that with my little brother but at the mall. I made a deal with him that I'll buy him whatever he wants but he can't complain about the stores I like and when I ask for his opinion, he has to be helpful. He's usually helpful but sometimes he makes fun of me in front of strangers."
"Haechan would think about it but probably wouldn't 'cause I'd do it back but say something even worse."
Lena laughs. "That's such a typical sibling thing."
Alyssa nods in agreement. "Oh, what stores do you like?"
"I could tell you or we could go shopping together?"
"Sure."

Nina laughs after getting hugged for what feels like the tenth time in five minutes. "Even Lace doesn't do this."
"That's because because Lace doesn't let go of you."
"You have a point, but really, you will have to let go at some point."
"Or we could just not let you go", Jisung suggests, earning a nod from his husband.
"I like that option."
The girl giggles. "I love this and I love you two but I do wanna spend time with your friends too. And visit an aquarium."
"Fine."
"You two are funny."
Instead of saying anything, Chenle just kisses the top of her head.
Jisungs phone vibrates in his pocket so he checks it and sees that Taeyongs almost there. "He has to bring you back today, got it?"
"Got it, Ji. And don't worry, I don't want anyone else to be my parents."
Jisung brings Nina into a tight hug. "We don't want anyone else to be our daughter either."
"I love you guys."
"We love you too."
When there's a knock on the door, the two release Nina so she can answer it and lets Taeyong into the entrance of the apartment.
"Um, hi", Taeyong says awkwardly.
The ravenette rolls his eyes. "Stop acting like that. We're all good."
"I'm still getting used to it. I'm even worse around Haechan."
"Oh, yeah, how was it last time?" Jisung asks.
"Well, my mom finally found out why we stopped being friends. That was uncomfortable and embarrassing. And then she told me that me dad would also do something stupid like that. And kind of did, just not on my scale."
"Oh, I remember Haechan mentioning your mom. He said he missed her food and that it was really nice seeing her."
"My mom missed him...So did I."
"I'm gonna pretend I understand", Nina says, making the three laugh. She turns to her parents. "On a totally unrelated note, I need to spend time with Ten and Shotaro next."
"Definitely unrelated", Jisung pretends to agree, no emotion in his voice.
"We can talk about this when you come home", Chenle intervenes. "We'll let you two go now. Have fun."
Taeyong smiles and nods and waits for Nina as she gives each man a kiss on the cheek before finally walking out of the apartment.
"I love her", Chenle says once they're gone.
Jisung nods in agreement. "I love her too."
Chenle eyes rake over his husbands handsome face, gaze not straying far from his lips. "I love you too."
Jisung immediately responds to the kiss, missing the males lips on his. Sure, they still kiss but they haven't kissed like this in a long time, not wanting Nina to see them. As the kiss deepens, Chenles hands reach down to grip the back of Jisungs thighs. Jisung quickly understands and jumps up, wrapping his legs around Chenles waist in the process. Their lips barely part as Chenle slowly carries Jisung into their bedroom and presses him against the door.
Jisung smiles into the kiss. "I missed this."
"I missed it too."
Then no more is said as they go back to expressing how much they missed each other through their actions.

Renjun brings the girl into a hug. "Sorry, lovebug."
"Why don't you just talk to Shotaro and Hendery?"
"We told them to tell us when they're ready to talk. They're not ready yet", Winwin tells her.
Haeun sighs. "I want you all to resolve things soon."
"Trust me, we do too."
"You're not awkward with anyone else, right?"
The couple gives her a weird look. "No, why?"
The girl shrugs. "You just seem kinda weird with someone else."
"Who?"
"Doesn't matter if it's not actually an issue."
What the hell?
"Oh, lovebug", Renjun says, getting up and grabbing an envelope from the table. "We got a letter from the orphanage. It's for a mother-son dance on Mother's day so I'm assuming there's one for Father's day too, right?"
"Oh yeah. All the families of the adopted kids get those flyers, so I've never gone before."
"Do you wanna go?" Winwin asks.
"I don't care too much but it would be nice to go."
"Then we're going."
Haeun smiles and hugs them.

Shotaro holds his up. "I know. I'm surprised this was their next plan of action."
"It does make sense since they wanna talk to us so bad."
Shotaro nods. "True." He looks at the stack of letters on the coffee table. "Have you read any?"
"I read two and then got pissed so I didn't open the rest."
"What made you mad?"
"The fact that they only noticed an issue with both of us when you pointed it out. Well, Yangyang said he noticed and then he said more shit that pissed me off. Xiao seems genuine but I'm not forgiving them that easily. I've never even had a chance to be upset 'cause I pushed it all down, hoping that I could ignore it and just focus on good things."
Shotaro pulls Hendery into a hug and waits for him to relax. "You can drop the tough guy act."
Hendery tries to look at Shotaro but doesn't make it too far because of how tightly he's being hugged. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means to stop focusing on only my feelings. You're finally feeling your feelings, you can show that. I wanna take care of you the way you do to me."
Hendery presses a kiss to the side of Shotaros head. "Thank you. I won't keep it all in and if I feel like crying, I'll do it. But really though, my initial emotion is anger. And a little hurt."
"Much better. Now, question."
"Yes, you can read the letters."
Shotaro grins at Hendery, looking cute. "Thank you."
"You know, Sungchan did something really stupid but he did have a point with that boyfriend comment."
"Shut up."

The smell of pancakes and bacon waft though the air, giving the house a delicious aroma. Waiting to be officially woken up, Jeno doesn't bother opening his eyes, instead rolling over to cuddle with whoever's next to him. He finds out quickly though, when he feels a leg latch around his, something only Haechan does. Jeno presses a kiss to whatever's in front of him—Haechans forehead.
"Uh guys?" Marks groggy voice says. "Did the kids ever say they can cook?"
"Wait."
Jeno sits up, immediately getting hit with a wave of dizziness and more sleepiness. He rubs his eyes and looks around the bed to find all his boyfriends still in the room.
"I thought Princess was cooking."
"He doesn't wake up early when the kids don't have school."
"Right. I'll go check on the kids."
Mark nods in agreement and slowly falls back against the mattress and turns to cuddle with Jaemin.
"How's everything going?" Jeno asks in a raspy voice, once in the kitchen.
Affinity smiles at him. "Good." She grabs a plate of pancakes and shows them to Jeno as she sets them on the table. "We made breakfast."
"I could tell. It smells good."
"That's all due to Reese and Minjae. I'm just good at plating things and decorating."
It's then that Jeno notices just now nicely the table is made up, including the vase of clearly fresh flowers in the center.
"Where did you get the flowers from? And when?"
"The neighbor. Don't worry, Reese was with me."
"It got smokey in here from frying stuff", Minjae explains. "The number is really nice. She also could you four very handsome."
Jeno blushes, causing the three to giggle.
Reese gasps. "The picture rule."
"Fuck", Jeno mutters, which only makes them laugh more. When he sees the smiles on their faces, Jeno can't help but smile back, finding the three absolutely precious. He brings each of them in for a hug and kisses their foreheads. "Thank you for making us breakfast."
"It's the least we could do. Also, we kinda planned something."
"Hm?"
"It's gotta be hard having dates and stuff when we're always home and we wanna spend time with the others and get to know them so we kinda planned a lunch date with everyone in the almost", Minjae emphasizes looking at Reese, "all girls groupchat."
"And how long ago was this?"
"Yesterday."
Jeno narrows his eyes. "Whose idea was this?"
"Guess."
"Sam. Or Archer."
"Wrong! Alyssa. But Sam was the first to agree."
"I was close."
"What smells so good?" Haechan mumbles, sleepily, him and Mark clinging onto a tired, pouty Jaemin.
"That would be the pancakes, bacon, sausages, eggs, and toast", Minjae answers. "And since we don't know how you prefer your food, there's different options so lightly toasted toast, almost burnt toast, really crispy bacon, barely crispy at all et cetera."
Jaemin gently tugs the children into his arms and squishes them in a hug. "Thank you, cuties."
"They also decided to go have lunch with their groupchat", Jeno adds in.
"So you can have a date. Since all the kids are going, all the, like, couples can have dates."
"And who will be supervising?" Haechan asks, already serving himself.
"Alyssa, Sam, Zoe, Archer, and Lyssa."
"Of course Alyssa is involved", Haechan mumbles before taking a bite of his pancake. "This is delicious. Come eat."
"Oh, some of the pancakes have chocolate chips in them."
"Wait, where?" Reese asks, searching through the pancakes.
"You didn't know?"
"Oh, I made them when you two went outside. I forgot to tell you."
"Reese takes chocolate very seriously."
"It's chocolate."

Jaemin smiles when he sees his kids and waves them into the room. "Hey."

"We came to see what you're all gonna wear for your date and give unasked for opinions."
Jaemin laughs. "Interesting. I don't mind your opinions though. Actually, you can dress me if you want."
Reese and Affinitys eyes light up. "Really?"
"Mhm. It take me too long to figure it out on my own."
"Are you gonna wear makeup?" Minjae asks quietly.
"Probably."
"You're gonna look so pretty", Affinity tells him.
"Hey Jaemin?" Reese says.
"Hm?"
"You know how some people draw those hearts under their eyes in eyeliner?" Jaemin nods and watches the boy blush. "Can you do that on me?"
Jaemin smiles. "Of course. Want me to do it now or later?"
"Now, please."
Jaemin nods and grabs his eyeliner. He pulls Reese to stand in front of him and carefully draws out a heart in the black ink. "Do you want one of two?"
Affinity holds up her phone camera so Reese can see what he looks like. "Just the one."
"Okay. Do either of you want a heart? Or just normal wings?"
"Can you do a flower?"
"Very carefully, yes", Jaemin says and begins drawing. "Renjuns better at drawing with the eyeliner than I am. He's also really good at makeup."
"How did you learn?"
"A hundred tutorials. Sounds like an exaggeration but I problem did watch a hundred makeup videos when I was trying to learn. I know what I'm doing now but there are also new things and I'm not great at everything so I'll still watch a video to learn how to do it."
"Is it hard?"
"It can be. It just takes a lot of practice. It also depends on products. I once bought blush that made me look like a strawberry."
The three laugh. Remembering the flower, Affinity checks her appearance with her camera and hugs Jaemin after seeing the pretty, black flower adorning her face.
"Are you two done?" Jaemin asks when he sees a shirt get placed on the bed.
"Almost."

Alyssa squeals at the sight of the kids and rushes at them to hug them, which makes the others laugh.
"I didn't know you'd be that kind of aunt", Sam comments.
"I didn't either but they're so cute. I always knew I'd be the favorite relative though."
Lyssa laughs and then looks around the restaurant, her gaze falling onto two woman approaching, holding hands with a teenage girl with them. "They must be Zoe, Archer, and Alya."
"That's us", Archer says and smiles.
"I forgot that you don't all know each other."
"I forgot that too", Alyssa says.
"Hi", Haeun greets, joining them. "Nina's outside. Chenle and Jisung are hugging her and Renjun got really excited to annoy him."
"Damn, I wanna see that."
"Same."
The group waits for everyone else to slowly arrive and then perfect their seating arrangements.
"How are we gonna go about the food?"
"We can order stuff for everyone", Alyssa suggests and then focuses on the kids. "You don't have to eat it if you don't want or if there's something else you really want, you can get it."
"Oh, and I don't know how you guys are about ordering but if you need me to do it for you, I will", Archer tells them.
"Oh me too", Lyssa says. "Same thing with sending this back."
"My best friend would love this", Nina speaks up. "They hate ordering."
"I hate it too", Zoe says.
"Just wondering, would you prefer we have, like, an actual lunch meal before dessert?"
"Uh", Alyssa starts,"if you haven't eaten, I do encourage you to eat something but if you really don't want to eat anything and desserts all you feel up for, it's okay."
"You don't have to eat a lot either, just whatever you want. That goes both ways, as little or as much."
"Then can I have chicken wings to myself?" Nina asks.
"Wait, where is that?" Zoe asks.
"You look like you're about to make small talk", Reese points out to Sam, gaining everyone's attention.
"I did think about it. I'm gonna ask anyway, how is everyone?"
"Good", Ana answers. "I feel rested today. I mean I make sure I sleep but my morning classes kill me."
"I like morning classes", Alyssa says. "But I am a morning person. When I told Haechan that, he told me the members of my planet are looking for me."
"Did you insult him back?"
"I tried but it was a very poor attempt. I'll redeem myself though."
"Now's your chance", Archer tells her. "Win over his kids."
"Wait, I just realized that Reese and Affinity have a heart and flower on their faces."
"Did Jaemin do it?"
"Jaemin knows how to do makeup?" Lyssa questions.
"He's pretty good at it."
"Oh, I didn't know that."
"Did we ever decide what we're ordering?"

"First, we're going to this class to make flower crowns 'cause me and Minnie said so and Jeno's trying to act like he doesn't love the idea."

Haechan coos and brings Jenos face into his hands to kiss him. "You're so cute."
"You too", Jeno mumbles.
"Then, we're gonna get those giant cookies from that small store that's like hidden by a bunch of other random places."
"Sounds vaguely familiar."
Jaemin hums. "And then we have to stop by somewhere for reasons that are none of your concern right now." He smiles.
"Do we get a hint?"
"No."
"Anything?"
"I'll give you a kiss."
Jeno rolls his eyes but kisses Jaemin anyway and smiles against his lips when they pull away.
"Me next!" Haechan says, moving in front of Mark.
"I was here first, dude!"
Jaemin and Jeno burst out laughing at the expression on Haechans face from being called "dude".
Haechan looks at Jeno. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?"
Jeno nods. "Very much."

Doyoung and Yuta smile at their fiance who lets out a happy gasp everytime he sees a dog, especially when they come up to him.
Being sued to avoid the family playing soccer, the three find a shady spot underneath a large tree and begin setting up their picnic.
"Bees better stay the fuck away from me", Yuta mutters, looking around for any nearby.
"It should be fine", Doyoung tells him, setting containers on top of the blanket.
Yuta doesn't respond, instead opening the container with his favorite food in it. He grabs a fork but before he can get any, Taeyong snatches the container from him.
"Share."
Yuta pouts. "You didn't have to take the whole thing from me."
Doyoung chuckles. "If we wanted some, we did. Hold on." Doyoung and Yuta take turns adding the food to their plates and then pass a mostly full container back to Yuta.
"Now, you can eat all that."
Yuta rolls his eyes but then gets distracted by what looks like slices of cheesecake in one of the larger containers. "What's for dessert?"
"You're so cute."
"'Cause I asked about dessert?"
"'Cause you're cute."
"Oh", Yuta says, blushing and looks away.
Taeyong moves next to him to hug him and kisses his forehead before releasing him. Instead of moving, Doyoung just holds out his arms and does the same when Yuta moves over to him. Doyoung and Taeyong exchange a quick kiss and then the three begin eating.

In the midst of conversation, focused on her food, Alyssa looks up and surveys the restaurant. Her eyes stop on a girl with long black hair next to a teenage boy. Thinking she's just mistaken, she doesn't focus too much on it, but remains curious.
"Hey", Ana says, getting her attention.
"Isn't that Lena behind you?"
Sam smiles in delight. "Where?"
Alyssa looks around and this time, locks eyes with Lena. A blush forms on her face as she does her best to smile.
"Who are you smiling at?" She hears the boy with her ask.
She watches as Lena whispers something to him and then boy smiles. Her face turns even more red when the boy looks at her and grins and then the two start approaching.
"Oh my God", Alyssa mumbles.
"Um, hi", Lena says awkwardly.
Sam grins. "Hi!"
"Hi", Alyssa says quietly.
"Are you Alyssa?" the boy asks.
Panic flashes across Lenas face and her grip on his arm tightens.
"I am."
The boy smiles. "My sister talks about you all the time. She said you're gorgeous."
Lena chokes on her drink and blushes under all the attention. "Sorry. I, um, well he's not lying. I just didn't know he'd say this...to all of you."
"Don't worry", Archer says. "We think it's cute and I'm sure Alyssa appreciates it."
Alyssa's eyes widen at the girl before smiling at Lena and nodding. "That is, um, nice."
While Alyssa is worried about being embarrassed in front of Lena, most don't pay attention to the way Affinity is smiling while watching Reese try not to stare at Lenas brother. When the two make eye contact, Reese blushes.
"Hey, Lena", Affinity says.
"Hm?"
"What's your brother's name?"
"Oh, this is Sawyer."
Reese gives the younger girl a look, begging her not to say anything else. Picking up on what's going on, Haeun and Alya watch in amusement at everything unfolding in front of them.
"Are you okay?" Nina asks Reese quietly.
"I'm fine."
"Are you two in a rush?" Sam asks.
"Uh, no."
"Then, do you wanna join? We really don't mind."
"We're also just getting to know each other so we'll all be a little awkward. Except for Sam, who doesn't seem to care."
"I spent too much time caring in high school, I don't give a fuck now." Her eyes widen. "Shit-sorry, can I cuss in front of your brother?"
"I think he cusses more than I do", Lena says. "Sure."
"Lena cusses more actually", Sawyer says, sitting down.
Lena sighs and then looks around the table. "I didn't get all of your names."
"I feel like we need name tags again."

"Yes!" Haechan cheers adorably.

The four exchange a few pecks and then gather their stuff before exiting the building.
"Is the cookie shop far from here? I'm not volunteering to walk by the way, I'm just asking."
"I don't think any of us are volunteering to walk", Mark says.
All eyes go to Jeno, who sighs. "Neither am I. Though, this is a nice day to go cycling."
"We should all do that", Jaemin suggests.
"Count me out."
"Then you and Pumpkin can walk."

"Thank you", the ravenette mumbles, getting comfortable against Jisung.
"Anything for you. Also, make sure we eat all the dessert or Nina's gonna guilt us into getting more."
"You really think we don't eat it all?"
"You have a point. Have you heard from Nina?"
"Yeah, she was texting me earlier because it was a little awkward and then Lena and her brother showed up and now Alyssa has an almost permanent blush on her face. Which I need to tell Haechan about but I'll do that later." Chenle squeezes Jisung tighter. "We need to all hangout soon. I miss them."
Jisung nods in agreement. "I do too."

As soon as Shotaro opens his door, he gets strangled into a hug.

Shotaro wraps his arms around Sungchan and nods against his shoulder. "I know."
