All the parents and students gathered around in
the quad and listened to Principal Weems's
speech.
"Nevermore was created as a safe haven for
our children to learn and to grow, no matter
who or what they are."
The whole quad clapped at that.
"I realize most of you have heard about the
unfortunate incident involving one of our
students. But I'm happy to report that Eugene
is on the mend and is expected to make a full
recovery. So let's focus on the positive and
make this Parents' Weekend our very best yet."
Everyone in the quad applauded again, except
for Enid, Wednesday, and Y/n who were
standing in the back.
Wednesday looked around blankly at the
display.
"On the mend? Try in a coma." She scoffed.
"Have you been to see him?" Enid asked.
Y/n nodded, and Wednesday just looked at
her.
"I'm the reason he's in the hospital." She reminded her.
"Hey." Y/n said, getting her attention. "That
was not your fault. It was more mine then anyones." She told her firmly.
"The monster hasn't attacked anyone in the past
week. Maybe you scared it off?" Enid suggested.
"Or maybe it went into hiding to avoid this
weekend." She scowled.
"At least your parents showed up." Y/n
muttered. She hadn't seen her parents faces at
all. She didn't know wether to be happy or sad
about it.
Wednesday glanced down at her.
"Your parents are scorns. They do not deserve
you as a daughter, and they don't deserve to be
in your thoughts, so get rid of them before I force you." She said.
Wednesday looked over Y/n's shoulder and
saw his family entering the quad.
"I knew I should have worn my plague mask."
Y/n lightly hit her chest, and gave her a look
that said 'knock it off.'
Enid glanced in the opposite direction. Enid sighed. "Would you look at my family. Talk about toxic pack mentality."
Y/n and Wednesday looked over to see four
boys rough housing on one of the picnic tables,
and two older looking people watching them.
"I'm giving my mom 30 seconds before her
judge-y claws come out. Let's get this over
with."
Enid walked off to her family and Y/n looked
over at Wednesday.
"Well, have fun with your family."
She went to walk with Enid and let her spend some alone time with her family, but she quickly
grabbed her hand and pulled her back towards her.
"Where are you going?" She asked.
Y/n shrugged. "I just thought you'd like some alone time with your family. Spend some quality time with them. I though I'd go with Enid's family since they are technically my family to."
"Well. since your horrible family couldn't be
bothered to come see you. I thought it might be
nice if you visited my family for the day."
Wednesday sheepishly suggested.
"You want me to meet your parents?" The girl
asked in surprise.
Wednesday nodded.
"I'd love to. Thank you."
Wednesday smiled lightly at her, and started
leading her over to her family.
Gomez noticed Wednesday coming and smiled
brightly. "There she is. Oh, how we've missed
those accusing eyes and youthful sneer." Gomez
said, as he embraced her daughter.
"How are you, my little rain cloud?" Morticia
asked.
"I thought Thing was filling you in on my every
move." Wednesday accused.
Gomez and Morticia's faces fell, and they shared
a glance.
"I uncovered your feeble subterfuge almost
immediately."
Gomez smiled awkwardly and tried to keep pleasant conversation. "So, how's the little fella
doing? Does he still have all his fingers?"
"Relax. I haven't snapped any of his digits. Yet."
Wednesday reported.
Gomez sighed in relief.
"So tell us everything." Morticia requested.
"Since you've abandoned me here, I've been
hunted, haunted, and the target of an attempted
murder."
Gomez smiled and spread his arms out. "Ah,
Nevermore, I love you so."
Mortica looked past Wednesday and noticed
Y/n. "And who is this?" She asked, making the
other family members look over at her as well.
Wednesday turned around, and saw Y/n
standing a few feet away, looking a little
nervous. She hoped Wednesday's parents liked
her.
Wednesday waved her over, and she came to
stand next to her.
"This is Y/n. She's my friend." She confessed.
Y/n's eyes widened and started to glow pink and yellow.
Gomez and Morticia gasped and smiled spread
onto their faces.
"You made a friend!" Gomez exclaimed.
"Try not to embarrass me in front of her."
Wednesday added.
Gomez broke that rule already, by stepping
forward and pulling Y/n into a tight hug.
"Welcome to the family my dear! Anyone Wednesday trusts or likes, is apparently of our family. Your eyes are precious." He exclaimed.
Y/n then covered her eyes. Her wolf ears and tail popped out.
"We thought this day would never come."
Morticia added.
Pugsley let out a laugh. "Wednesday's got a
friend, Wednesday's got a friend." He
chanted and teased.
"I saved you from suffocating in a locker. Never forget that." Wednesday scowled.
"Whatever." Pugsley groaned.
Wednesday's eyes twitched and her face
contorted into a scowl, and her cheeks became
slightly pink from embarrassment.
Gomez released Y/n, and Wednesday was
quick to pull her away from them.
"I'm going to check on Enid quickly." Y/n said tapping Wednesday's shoulder. Wednesday nodded at her and Y/n ran away embarrassed from her ears, eyes, and tail.
...
Y/n was so lost and she wasn't playing attention at all. She accidentally ran into someone.
She fell to the ground, hitting her head on concrete. Y/n felt really dizzy. She tried to stand but couldn't.
"Are you okay?" A voice asked.
Y/n looked up to see the person she ran into.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention." She apologized.
"Hey, it alright. I'm Amin Reina. (A-min Ree-na)
He held out his hand for Y/n to take. Y/n was flustered. Nobody has ever done this before. Yes, she had a crush on someone else. But she was flustered. People usually just make fun of her.
...
Wednesday looked towards Enid's family but didn't see Y/n. She frantically looked across the quad and spotted her by the new kid.
She was kind of angry when she saw the guys kind gesture towards her.
...
Y/n grabbed his hand and he pulled her up.
"Can you give me a tour? I'm new here. Oh, and I'm your new neighbor by the way."
"Oh..uh..hi..I'm Y/n." She said in a soft tone.
"Good seeing friendly faces around here. I haven't found one since I came. So, could you give me a tour?"
"Y-Yeah. After parents weekend, Monday, after classes, 3:45. Meet me at the fountain. And I'll give you a tour." Y/n assured him.
She ran off and waved goodbye. He waved back happily. He was glad he made a new friend. At least he thought she was a new friend.

Meanwhile, across the quad, Enid approached
her parents.
"Enid! Oh, let me look at you." Her mom said.
"One-one-thousand, two-one-thousand..." Enid
whispered.
"Have you not been waxing? Where's Y/n?" Her mother asked.
"Three seconds. That's a personal best. And Y/n is with Wednesday's family meeting them." Enid
commented.
"Nope. I'm right here." Y/n said making Enid and her mother turn.
Enid's mother sniffed her. "Are you feeling
well? You're looking a touch anemic. Have you
been eating enough red meat?"
Enid just smiled. "It's good to see you too mom.
And you dad."
Her dad didn't say anything and smiled down at
her.
Enid's mom walked over to Y/n and started to sniff her. "Are you feeling well? You're looking exactly like Enid. Have YOU been eating enough red meat? Have you discovered if you can wolf out yet?"
"I can. Just..don't tell Enid. And I can do it on command. Unlike others." Y/n whispered into Enid's moms ear.
Enid's mom smiled at her and nodded. "Can you show me?"
Y/n nodded sadly as her mother block Enid's way from seeing. Y/n made her wolfs ear pop out for proof. Their mom jumped with excitement.
...
Up on the second level of the quad, Bianca was
leaning against the brick railing, looking down
at everyone in the quad.
Xavier came up next to her. "Not sure how much more of this family togetherness I can take." He said.
"I think you skipped the part where you
apologize for acting like a jerk last weekend."
Bianca reminded him.
Xavier nodded. "I'm sorry for what happened at
the dance. I shouldn't have asked you to siren
song me like that."
Bianca nodded in acknowledgment.
"Guessing your dad's a no-show again this year?"
"Yeah. I got a text this morning. You?" He
asked.
Bianca scoffed. "Gabrielle hasn't shown her face
since I started here. Probably sunning herself
somewhere in the Seychelles."
"My darling daughter." A voice announced.
Bianca and Xavier turned to see a woman with
dark skin, long black hair, and bright blue eyes
standing there.
"I made it. Wouldn't miss this for the world.'
Bianca just stared at her mother. Completely speechless that she was actually here.
"Guess you misjudged her." Xavier said, and
walked away.
Leaving Bianca with her siren mother.
