"Let's assess, shall we?"
Wednesday was tied to a chair and had a black
bag over her head.
"Bag over my head for optimal
disorientation, wrists tied tight enough
to cut off circulation, and no idea if I'm
going to live or die. It's definitely my
kind of party.
Wednesday feels someone grab her wrist as she try's to pull away. "Stop, it's me." Y/n whispers.
"Y/n?" Wednesday asked.
"Yes, it's me. Now hold on I'm going to get you out of here." Y/n whispered in her ear.
Just before Y/n was done untying her.
Someone ripped the bag off of Wednesday's
head, and she was face to face with a bunch of
people in robes wearing bird masks, and a
projector shining in her face.
"Who dares breach our inner sanctum?" A
deep, distorted voice asked.
"You can take the mask off, Bianca."
Wednesday told her.
Bianca huffed and pulled down her hood then took her mask off, and so did the rest of the
group.
"What the hell!" Y/n yelled, standing up.
"Where did you come from?!" Bianca asks.
"I've been here." She retorted.
"And just like that, my hopes were
bashed against the rocks of
disappointment. My foe was no
psychotic killer. More like a bunch of
high school clowns."
Bianca turned off the projector, and Wednesday
could see more clearly.
She noticed that Xavier was also part of the group, as well as Ajax and a bunch of other teenagers.
Wednesday stared at Bianca. "Wait, I preferred you with it on."
Bianca sneered at her.
"How'd you get down here?" Xavier asked.
"Rowan showed me." Wednesday replied. She
gestured to her coat. "Left pocket."
Y/n reached in her coat pocket and pulled out
the drawing from the book.
Xavier secretly snook a peek at it.
"I traced the watermark down to the Poe statue.
Then I solved the riddle." She explained.
"Impressive." Y/n muttered looking at the page.
"Wait, there's a riddle? I thought we just
snapped twice." The siren that Thing punched
said.
"Well aren't you the brightest on the bunch."
Wednesday told him sarcastically.
"The Nightshades are an elite social club.
Emphasis on elite." Bianca explained.
"We have roof parties, camp outs, and the
occasional midnight skinny-dip." Yoko chimed
in.
"And Yoko's an amateur mixologist." Another
added.
"She makes a killer virgin mojito. It can get
pretty wild." Ajax smiled.
Wednesday looked at them all, unimpressed. "Wow. Do you guys even have a bedtime?"
Y/n couldn't help but smirk.
"Last I heard, the Nightshades had been disbanded."
"Yeah, the group kinda lost its charter 30 years
ago after some normie kid died." Xavier
explained.
"But we have a lot of wealthy alumni, so Weems
looks the other way as long as nobody makes
any waves." Yoko said.
"Someone like Rowan?" Wednesday asked.
"We booted that loser last semester." Bianca
scoffed. "Question is, what are we gonna do
with them? Only members are allowed in this
library."
Xavier glanced down at Wednesday then looked at Y/n. "I say we invite them to pledge. They are a legacy." He gestured to the picture of Wednesday's parents and the picture of the other family.
Y/n walked up to the painting and growled at it.
Bianca looked at Xavier like he was crazy. "After
the crap she pulled at the Poe Cup, especially
Y/n. There's no way in hell. We talk about not making waves? They are tsunamis."
"Just because we beat you at your own game? Let
me save you the trouble. I'm not interested in
joining." Wednesday confessed.
"I'm not either." Y/n also confessed.
"You're seriously turning us down?" Yoko asked
in disbelief.
"Can you believe it?"
"Untie her." Bianca ordered.
Wednesday pulled her hands out from behind
her back, and Y/n held the rope in front of her. "I
freed her five minutes ago." Y/n said smirking.
She stood up and went to leave, but the siren with the black eye stood in front of her.
Wednesday just stared at him. "Do you want a
matching black eye?" She asked, shoving him
aside.
Wednesday walked up the stairs with Y/n following close behind but stopped halfway and turned back to the group. "It's amateurs like you who give kidnapping a bad name!" Yelled Wednesday.
"Okay!" Y/n said grabbing Wednesday's arm, dragging her out.
And with that, they continued up the stairs, out of the hidden library.
...
Wednesday sat at her desk, flipping through the
book she had taken from the library. She stopped
at the page that showed the other half of the
drawing.
"There were so many threads to my
investigation, I could weave a burial
shroud. I still have no idea how Rowan mysteriously rose from the dead. Or
why that monster is prowling the
woods."
Wednesday took out the drawing and placed it
next to the one on the book, to complete it. The
finished drawing showed Wednesday facing off
against a pilgrim in the quad, and the area
around them was on fire.
"But right now, nothing intrigues me
more than this book. If I'm going to be
responsible for Nevermore's demise, the
question is, why am I sharing this
apocalypse with a pilgrim?"
...
Y/n was still upset about how Wednesday disturbed her alone time in the quad. She walked out of the school and into the woods. She then sat on a tree stump and started to think about her past.
"This woman!" Her mother said pointing to a drawing.
"Will be the death of you! Stay sharp!" Her mother yelled.
Y/n looked at the drawing to see a woman. She had black hair, pigtails, and a pale face.
"Why can't you be like your sister?!" Y/n's mother yelled.
"You're a monster!!" Her mother yelled at her.
"You spawn of satan! You can't get anything right!" Y/n's mother yelled again.
Y/n shook her head and went back into the present.
...
"Where were you?" Wednesday asked as Y/n shut the door to the dorm.
"Don't worry about it."
"How could I not worry. You are supposed to be asleep. It's 1am. What...were...you..doing?!" Wednesday yelled angrily.
"Ok fine! You wanna know?! I was in the woods! Thinking of my past! It wasn't fun, Wednesday! My family! Traumatizing events!" Y/n yelled back angrily.
Wednesday was shocked at what she heard. "Y/n, I'm..I'm sorry.." Wednesday replied.
"You're sorry? You should say sorry abo-!" Y/n was cut off by Enid.
"What the hell are you guys yelling about?" Enid asked sleepily.
"Go back to bed.." Y/n said as she walked over and tucked her in.
"Thanks." Enid said as she rolled back over.
"Mhm." Y/n replied softly, picking up a stuffed animal, and putting it into Enid's arms. Y/n remembered what Enid's favorite stuffed animal was. It was the one Y/n got her for her 13th birthday. It was a big fat gray and white cat.
"Ah ha. I got it!!" Y/n said running out of the dorm, leaving Wednesday absolutely confused.
