You chewed on the gum in your mouth, kicking a rock that had found itself at your foot. Instead of going to find your brother you had decided to walk back home in order to calm your mind.
Your phone buzzed in your pocket as texts and calls from your brother simultaneously rang. Putting your phone on do not disturb, you dragged your feet up the small hill.

Stuffing my phone in my pocket I leaned my head back as the call went into voicemail once again.
I knew I shouldn't have let her come...
"Mr Mikage, is something wrong?" Ba-Ya stepped out of the car, waiting expectantly.
"No it's nothing let's go."
Sitting in the backseat, my eyes never once left the small dot on his screen . I had resorted to tracking her phone, seeing that she was indeed on her way back home.
Dinner was quiet, even my parents who would usually talk about business could sense that something was wrong. I would occasionally steal glances at Y/n but she would never return my gaze.
"So, how was practice today Reo?" mom asked.
"It's y'know the usual." Ah wait a minute, didn't y/n also say it was 'the usual' yesterday...?
"alright, what about you Y/n? How was your day?" Props to her for breaking the silence.
"...fine..." Her voice was quiet, you had to strain your ears to hear her reply.
The dining room fell into an uncomfortable silence once again, the only sounds were the clinking and clanking of utensils.
"I see, well your father and I will be leaving for a business trip in a few days. We'll be back in about two weeks max, so just be responsible okay?"
"of course."
"mhm..."

"..."
The silence was almost unbearable, this was probably the first time the entire family was quite for a meal. Clearing my throat to get everyone's attention, I decided that I could not stand the tension anymore. "I'm going to study now-" I was cut short by my sister.
"Me too." Y/n stood up up hurriedly before walking past me back to her room.
"hm what's wrong with her today? She's not usually like this..." Soon after she left, our parents went into deep gossip about what could have possibly happened.
I did as I said, study in my room. Although I was hardly able to focus on anything, not with the curiosity gnawing at my heart.
Did they break up? I hope they broke up... Not that I want y/n to be sad, it's just that she's better off without that lame excuse of a boyfriend anyways.
Two knocks resounded through my room, I opened the door expecting to see my dad lecturing me about playing soccer but was instead met with the person I was thinking about.
"oh- y/n!" Shock was written on my face,, I quickly let her in, closing the door behind me.
"Reo... I uh I talked to Isagi." She'd been quiet the entire day and that way the first thing she says?
"I swear i'll beat the shit out of him the next time I see his face for you. What did he say? Did he do anything?"
She shook her head.
"I don't know, do you think he'll forgive me"
"forgive you for...?" Now i'm interested. Why should Isagi have the need to forgive her? If anything, it should be the other way around.
"Slapping and breaking up with him..."
"..." Hold on a minute.
I stared at her for a few seconds, processing her words. Slap? Broke up? She slapped him?
"That... that's amazing y/n!!" I smiled, "I'm so proud of you, I promise to beat his ass next time— i'll get Nagi to record a video of it too!"
"Huh!? Wait no, you'll get in trouble!!" She looked up at me for the first time today.
Weird, I would have thought she'd be crying after a breakup... but there wasn't a single trace of a tear.

"Wow, reo look over there!" You pointed at the big stuffed duck plush.
After retelling the story of what happened three times, Reo decided to take you to a fun fair to celebrate. It was a joyous occasion after all.
"Geez, why don't we just buy the duck?" Frustrated, reo paid for another round of the game.
"But! It's more fun this way!" You retorted.
"YIPPEE! YAYY! WOOHOO!" You jumped around with the huge duck on your shoulder.
It only took the both of you about twenty tries or so. Not too bad if you ask reo.
"Now that we've got your duck can we play something easier?" Reo was glad the wild duck chase was over. (get it? the duck plush? and goose chase?)
If he'd been asked to play it again he'd most definitely rather drop dead.

"Oi, Isagi." Reo stopped his teammate before he could regroup with the rest.
"yeah?" Seemingly oblivious to the other boys obvious disdain.
"I have yet to find out what you did but believe me, it's over for you when I do." There was something unsettling in reo's tone.
"huh? Do what—"
Reo had a crazed look in his eyes as his fist collided with Isagi, hitting him square in the face. Caught off guard, Isagi stumbled back, holding a hand to his nose.
"Why are people hitting Isagi nowadays? Should I try it too?" The white haired boy asked the speedster next to him.
"...no... let's not."
