I put my headphones in my ear
Open the window just a bit
I take a huge inhale
Glass on my lips
I'm not shuffling around
Passing it through hands
It's just me lighting the fire
Hit after hit after hit
I've been alone before
But never to this extent
Getting high by yourself
It leaves an imprint
My lungs are burning
My hands stop shaking
Though I'm not here anymore
I'm finally at peace
The green swallows my thoughts
It lets me watch myself
Through a lens
From a distance
I lay there silently
My mind isn't racing
I'm just able to be
Emotionless
I know it can't last forever
That I need to process
But I like nights like these
Where I'm allowed to sleep
