"But she's probably just being nice-" Nina stops when she sees the look her best friend is giving her.
"I'm sure Alyssa's nice but that's still a little messed up and it still hurt you. I don't like people who hurt you."
Nina relaxes in their arms, happy to have her best friend. "I don't like people who hurt you either."
Lace chuckles. "I know. You got so mad when I told you about the girl who was mean to me in kindergarten and everyone who called me fat in elementary school."
"Because they're all stupid and shouldn't have the right to talk if they can't say anything intelligent."
Lace grins at the girl with an amused smile on their face and love in their eyes. It always entertained them when Nina got mad and protective. They loved it.
"Also", Lace speaks up. "I'm gonna give Chenle and Jisung a chance to prove themselves but I want you to know that I will always, always pick you. It's you over everyone." They kiss Ninas forehead, sealing their words.
"I love you so much."
Lace smiles. "I love you just as much."
"It's you over everyone else for me too."
Lace smiles even bigger and attacks their best friend with kisses, loving the way Nina smiles and giggles happily. It's one of the cutest sights over and they wish they could document it and come back to this moment forever. Wanting to cuddle, they pull Nina into their arms and tuck their face into the crook of her neck.
"This is perfect."

When Marks eyes land on Jaemin and take in how pretty he is, he can't help but kiss him. And he can't help that he doesn't wanna stop. Especially when Jaemin giggles from the multiple kisses being pressed to his face.
Jaemin loves being in Marks arms, happily allowing the male to be as affectionate as he wants to be. And Mark loves how much Jaemin enjoys it.
"Thank you", he mumbles.
"For what?"
"For making me feel comfortable to show my feelings. I always worry about being too much for someone but I don't feel like that with you. I've never felt like I was annoying when I'm with you."
Jaemin takes Marks face into his hands. "Bubs, you're the furthest thing from annoying. And actually, I should be thanking you. Thank you for always showing me how much you love me and how you feel about me. I never felt the need to question myself with you and I always felt fine to be myself with you. You don't annoy me as much as Princess does so I don't feel the need to argue with you or anything but I've never felt like you wouldn't like me. And you never seemed annoyed by me either."
"I wasn't. I even told Haechan that he should cut you some slack because you obviously felt the need to please others for some reason and that's not easy for you other. Well, something like that."
Jaemin pulls Mark in for a kiss, startling his boyfriend, but Mark sinks into the kiss quickly and meets the lips moving against his. Jaemin puts all his feelings into the kiss, all the love and gratitude he has for the male. He pulls Mark closer and runs a hand through his soft hair. He smiles when Mark giggles from him aggressively pecking his lips.
"You're so cute", Jaemin mumbles, not detaching his lips from Marks.
Mark can't respond because of Jaemin kissing him breathless and dizzy. It's invigorating to him. He feels so wrapped in Jaemin and so loved by him. He loves the hand on his waist and the one in his hair and the way Jaemin tugs his lips into his mouth, bringing them as close they can be. Mark exhales, only to inhale Jaemin. It's so elating. Jaemin smiles at how happy Mark is, seeing right through him. He continues kissing him, sometimes teasing the male just to hear him whine when he pulls his lips away. His boyfriend is so fucking cute to him. Mark was always more open with what he thought of him and though Jaemin tries, he knew it wasn't nearly close enough to what he actually feels. If only Mark knew just how cute Jaemin thought he was or how pretty he looks with slightly messed up hair and bright pink lips. And when he looks at Jaemin with his pretty eyes or blushes, it drives Jaemin crazy. Mark is absolutely beautiful to him. Nothing could ever change his mind.
When Mark feels completely depleted of oxygen, he pulls away to catch his breath. But somehow Jaemin isn't done as he continues to kiss all his face instead. Mark loves how Jaemin focuses on him and drowns him in kisses without him asking. A goofy grin appears on his face, causing Jaemin to coo.
"I love the way you make me feel", Mark tells him, looking at Jaemin adoringly.
"I love the what you make me feel too. I just love you. I'm so in love with you."
Marks smile grows even bigger if possible. "I feel the same way. I'm insanely in love with you."
Jaemin smiles and kisses him again.

As soon as Doyoung sees the distraught girl, he's by her side and leading her over to a table.
"What happened? Did someone hurt you?"
Ana manages to chuckle at his worrying. "No, nothing like that. It's just my feelings that hurt. They're raising the rent on my apartment and I can't afford it and it was the cheapest place I could find. I know I shouldn't be picky but I'm not really willing to leave in someplace unsanitary or unsafe."
"I'm not allowing that either. You have nowhere to go? No friends to stay with or anything?"
The girl shakes her head. "I'm not close enough to anyone to stay with them, especially not long-term. I don't know what to do. I'm so stressed out. I have an exam coming up in one of my courses and I usually stay up late studying in my apartment. And I don't wanna be too far from everything. I need to be able to get to college and here."
"You can stay with me."
"What?"
"You can stay with me. We work at the same place and I'm super nosy so I know a decide amount about you."
"I don't wanna intrude."
"Ana", Doyoung says sternly.
"Isn't that the parent tone?"
"Is it working?"
Ana sighs. "I really don't wanna burden you. You already do so much for me, helping me study and letting me have meals here and whatnot."
"And it would be so much easier if you lived with me. Unless that makes you uncomfortable. I know some females who could help you out if you prefer that."
"I actually prefer you over some strangers", Ana admits.
"So are you okay with that?"
Ana nods. "Thank you."
"Thank you for letting me help you and easing my anxiety 'cause I would freak out if you went somewhere else. Now, did you eat?"
"Doyoung", Ana says, a teasing smile coming to her face. "Did I activate your parent mode?"
Doyoung rolls his eyes. "Sure you did. Now, actually did you eat?"
"No..."
"What do you want? Start with whatever will make you feel better."
"I think a slice of lemon pie would help me right now."

At the door, Doyoung stops and turns to Ana. "Sorry, I forgot to mention that my and my boyfriends and I unofficially live with each other in our apartments."
"Do you take turns?"
"Pretty much." Doyoung unlocks the door and feels the comforting scent of vanilla. "One of them is definitely here."
"Are you sure this won't be a problem? I'm sure I can find somewhere else."
"You say a lot of nonsense sometimes."
Ana rolls her eyes. "I'm being logical."
Doyoung gives Ana a look. "We already agreed that you're staying here and until you don't feel so stressed about a place to live, you're staying here."
At that moment, Ana sees a man watching the two in amusement. When they make eye contact, he smiles.
"Uh, sorry. As you can see, I don't have much of a choice being here."
"If Doyo doesn't mind, it's fine with me and Yuta."
"Is he here?" Doyoung asks.
"He's reading in your room. He looks so cute."
"I'm gonna go say hi to him." He looks at Ana. "This is Taeyong. He's really nice and going to say something embarrassing about me so you should enjoy that. I'll be right back."
As soon as he's gone, Taeyong asks, "Alright, what do you wanna know?"
"If you're serious, I do have something I wanna know."
"Oh, me and Yuta don't joke about embarrassing Doie. We'll do it in a heartbeat."
"Good to know."
"What's good to know?" A new voice asks.
"Wow, Doyoung, your boyfriends are really handsome." Ana pauses. "How did they end up with you?"
Yuta bursts out laughing, completely ignoring his fiances glare. Taeyong tries to be more subtle about it but the red in his cheeks and the obvious smile on his face give him away.
"I like you already." Ana smiles. "I'm Yuta. It's nice to meet you. Also, because this is pretty much my apartment too, I get to tell you to feel free to stay here as long as you need to. Oh, and maybe you already do but take advantage of Doies cooking skills. And Taes, he's pretty good too."
"Yuta!" Taeyong whines.
"Yongie!" Yuta whines back and smiles when he sees his fiance cave in. He brings him into a hug and kisses his cheek and then glances back at the girl. "Sorry, not sorry for all the displays of affection you may see."
Ana shrugs. "I don't mind. It's your place anyways. Do what you want." She looks at Doyoung. "Do you mind if I take a shower?"
"Wait, let me run you a bath instead", Yuta says.
The girl shakes her head. "It's okay, you need to. I'm fine with a shower."
"Fortunately and unfortunately for you, Ana, Doyos not the only persistent one. Unless you're violently against baths, I'm running you one. Are you allergic to bath bombs or anything like that?"
"Nope."
"Perfect. It'll only be a few minutes."
"Thank you. You really don't have to do this for me."
"You're welcome but I want to."
"So Ana, what food do you like?"

Ten sighs in frustration. "He went through so much with his feelings for you. He was in love with not just you, but Mark too. Heartbreak already feels like absolute shit but he got double the amount 'cause he had to watch two people not choose him. He never says this shit directly but I'm good at reading between the lines. What do you think that did to his self-esteem? Of course he doesn't want his self-worth to be dependent on two guys. Who also happen to be his best friends he loves so much. Which really sucks 'cause a lot of people can find worth in their friendships. He was really dealt the most frustrating card when it comes to you two." Ten pauses to apply mascara.
"Wait, you wear mascara?"
"Yeah, Minnie got me into it. I look hot as fuck with makeup on. Anyways, before Johnny even kissed you, he was rejected multiple times. Every time you or Mark chose someone else. It was a real stab when you made out with Mark 'cause that just means you're willing to kiss a best friend or whatever, just not him. He deserves to be kissed too, the fuck. So you clearly know why he doesn't believe you. But there's still a part of him, the hopeful part, that wants this to be real. And he feels so stupid for it. You also have the worst timing ever."
"Gee, thanks."
Ten gives Jaehyun a look. "Do I look like I'm joking? This is why I'd actually kick your ass. And then go home and cry. Now, despite what I just told you, your non-dumbass, 'cause Johnny's not allowed to date dumbasses, has to earn him. He already deserves you. And that's not even me being biased, that's me being observant. I know you're a good friend, you're loyal and stay by your loved ones. Like a dog almost." Jaehyun blinks, but Ten grins and keeps talking. "You need to prove that you deserve him. He needs to know that in this reality, you love him. And I know you think I'd say all this, even if I didn't believe in you, just to waste your time, and I would, but honestly that's a waste of my time." He gives Jaehyun a pointed look. "Don't waste my time. And for the love of God, if you waste Johnnys, you won't even get to write a eulogy."

And I know you don't believe me right now, which I don't blame you for because you've been through so much pain regarding me. I want to show you that I mean everything I say. Johnny almost says it but he catches himself. He knows he shouldn't give himself anymore pain. This situation is hard enough for him as it is.

Johnny doesn't mean to be so hostile but he can't help it. He's trying to protect himself in a fight he's never been able to win. But this time, he really doesn't think he can stand losing again.
"Is that a euphemism for my feelings for you?"

Jaehyun searches Johnnys face, taking in the blank expression he's trying to hide behind. "I need to make you smile."
"What?"
"My goal is to make you smile. At me. I've been making you sad and I really wanna stop doing that. I should be making you smile instead."
"Alright, what romance movie are you starring in?"
Jaehyun takes Johnnys hands in his. "The one where we fall in love." It's too much for Johnny, the handholding, the cheesy romantic line (that's actually working on him). He can't even stop himself from blushing. Or laughing. Seeing it, Jaehyun laughs too, happy to get this reaction out of the male. Without Johnny realizing, he pulls him into a hug. "I've missed hearing your laugh. I've missed you so much."
It feels so dangerous to admit his true feelings. Johnny tries to bite his tongue but he misses being able to say affection words without worrying that admitting his feelings will result in more heartbreak over the same person.

Johnny shuts his mouth and hugs Jaehyun tighter, letting the action speak for him. It's all Jaehyun needs and he smiles as he holds Johnny just as tight.

"Uh, why are you all here?" Haechan asks.
His sister rolls her eyes and pushes in past him, followed by Kade who flashes Haechan a smile.
"They're eating your food!" Jisung calls to the male.
"Jisung is literally eating your chips with me."
Knowing he won't have much hope with them, Haechan turns his attention to Taeil and Kade. "Are one of you gonna tell me why you're here?"
"To be blunt, it's because you're worrying about being a bad parent."
"Oh."
Taeil wraps his arms around Haechan and waddles him into the living room where the five get themselves comfortable.
"What on Earth makes you think you'd be a bad parent?" Alyssa ask, shamelessly eating his chips.
"I'm scared to mess up", Haechan mumbles. "What if I end up like mom?"
"You won't", Alyssa replies quickly. "I can say confidently because you helped raise me and you are the complete opposite of our poor excuse of a mother. You let me cry, you always try to help me, you did things with me. You did everything for me even when you were tired and it costed you your own time. You make sure I know how to communicate in a healthy way and you communicate in a healthy way. Every toxic thing mom does, you undid. And all those things you do stay with me. That's why you don't hate me."
"I could never hate you."
"But I made you angry and I hurt you."
"Yes, you were annoying as fuck but did I hate you? No."
Alyssa moves over to Haechan and leans on him. "I love you", she mumbles, cheek squished against him.
Haechan kisses her forehead. "I love you too."
"See, you'll be an incredible parent. You're so much better than mom and your kids will be so lucky."
"Do we even need to be here?" Kade jokes.
Ignoring him, Taeil speaks up. "Alyssa's right. You're so amazing and so perfect. Everyone in this room and people that aren't right now love you so much. And it's because you make people feel so good about themselves and you make sure no one feels the way you did."
"You really are nothing like her", Jisung adds. "To treat someone the way your mom treated you, you'd have to be a completely different person and if you were, I wouldn't be here right now. Don't rush yourself or force yourself but if you want kids, you'll be an amazing parent to them."
"Thanks. I love you guys. Even you, Kade."
"Hey!"

It took a bit more time for Haechan to believe that he wouldn't completely fuck up being a parent and it took a lot of discussions with his boyfriends but he eventually decided that he didn't hate the idea of having a family with the three people he's irrevocably in love with.
But that doesn't mean he wasn't a little bit overwhelmed.
"I hate that there's so many kids here", he mumbles.
"Same."
"Same."
"Same", Jaemin says right before breaking out into a grin at the sight of the orphanage directors. "Hi!"
"Hi", a woman smiles back. "It's lovely to meet you. I spoke to one of you on the phone?"
"That was me", Jeno says, smiling. "Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you", the other woman says. "We'll just have a brief discussion and then get you guys name tags and then you're free to talk to the kids. I believe you were informed but if not, some children do have siblings and we do our best not to separate them."
The four men nod and follow the women into an office. They smile at the children who stare at them. It doesn't take very long before the four are split up to go mingle with the children.
In what seems to be the living room, Mark sees a group of children surrounding a table and playing with toys on it while a smaller group of older kids sit on the couch on their phones or watch them. He watches the attention of all of them as he walks by, making him blush and smile awkwardly.
"Hey, Mister!" One of the little girls exclaims.
"Yes?" Mark says.
"Are you here to take someone home?"
"Maybe."
"Hey, Mister?"
"Yes?"
The little girl grins cheekily. "Do you have a girlfriend?"
"Ooh, Mister, do you?" The little boy next to her asks, all children nearby awaiting an answer.
"No."
"What about a boyfriend?"
The children squeal, making Mark and the six older kids near them chuckle. "Did you see the other people I came in here with?"
"Yes."
"We're dating."
"All of you?" One child exclaims with big eyes.
Mark nods.
"I didn't know you could date more than one person."
"You can as long as the people you date are okay when it."
"Ohh", one of the boys says in understanding.
"Mhm. Now, what are you playing?"
Jaemin stops in his tracks when he almost runs into a teenage girl with headphones on.
"Oh, sorry", she says.
"Don't be, it was my fault."
Minjae nods. Starting to feel awkward from the silence, she decides to ask the man a question. "Are you here for someone? One of the girls in this room is getting adopted?"
"Not here for anyone in particular. My boyfriends and I are planning on adopting."
"Oh. Well, all the rooms have, like, a designated older kid to keep everyone from going crazy but some rooms have more. Girls are on this side, boys are that way."
Jaemin nods. "I see. What's your name?"
"Minjae."
"Your name is my name backwards."
"What?" Her gaze falls to the mans name tag. "Jaemin...oh. That's cool."
Jaemin nods. "What music are you listening to?"
"Just Kpop songs."
Outside, Haechan watches Jeno play basketball with some of the kids. It makes him smile, seeing how happy his boyfriend and the kids are. The sight is pretty cute, he will admit, but he knows that no matter how cute children are, most of them are rascals.
He jumps when the patio door opens abruptly and two kids run out, laughing.
"Oh, hi", Affinity says to the guest. "I'm Affinity and this is Reese."
"Hi", Reese says.
"Hi."
"Has a girl with curly black hair, a red bandana, white t-shirt, and jeans come out here to ask if you've seen a boy and a girl?"
Haechan shakes his head.
"If you see here, please don't tell her you say us", Reese says.
"Wait Reese", Affinity taps the boys arm, "let's go hide in Minjaes room. No one goes in there."
The two run off right as Jeno approaches and points after them. "Should we be concerned about anything?"
"They're hiding from some girl and going to hide in someones room. They're definitely up to no good. Alyssa did this shi-ick to me all the time."
"I see. Have you seen Princess or Pumpkin?"
"I think they're still inside."
Inside, they find Mark and Jaemin by one of the couches. Haechan sees the girl Affinity and Reese are hiding from.
"Hey, new people", a teenage boy says to Jeno and Haechan. "Have you two seen a boy and a girl around this tall, giggling and rubbing away and probably mentioned hiding?"
"I saw them", Haechan says. "They went to someone named Minjae."
"Oh, I say her upstairs", Jaemin says.
"Those troublemakers", the black-haired girl mutters before going upstairs for them.
"Thanks by the way."
"You're welcome."
The four stay for another hour, getting to know as many kids as possible and do a few activities with them. The smile doesn't leave Jaemins face, so happy to be around kids. Mark is pretty happy too but embarrassed from the ones who'd decided to tease him. Jeno was doing his best to be as helpful as possible which made his boyfriends squeal, entertaining the children.
And Haechan? He was exhausted.
It was nice and he was enjoying himself but nothing drains his social battery faster than multiple people around him, especially multiple loud kids around him. He got along pretty well with the ones he did speak to but he was ready to go home.
Finally, the time came and they were led back into Danas office to discuss how meeting the kids went.

"Minjae!"
"Huh?" The girl goes to the doorway and calls back. "What?"
"Miss Dana is looking for you!"
"Okay!"
Minjae enters the office and finds two other people sitting in the chairs, Affinity and Reese. She didn't know them super well as she wasn't that talkative and they usually kept to themselves or hung out with the younger children but she'd interacted with them a few times, especially recently.
"Have a seat. I wanna talk to you three." Minjae sits down in the chair next to Reese. "Do you remember the four men that came in here last week?"
"The ones who are dating?"
"Yes, them."
"What about them?"
"Did they pick someone?"
The woman smiles. "Yes, yes they did. They wanna adopt you three."
"Us?" Minjae asks.
"Mhm. They'd like to give adopting you three a try and if you don't like it, you can always come back. How do you feel?"
"I'm getting adopted!" Affinity exclaims.
"I'm getting a home?", Reese asks, eyes full of hope.
Dana smiles at him and nods before turning to the oldest. "Minjae, what about you, dear?"
Minjae nods. "Uh, yeah, I'll try it."
"Excellent."
Affinity and Reese rush out to tell the other kids the news but Minjae lingers in the office. "Did they tell you why they chose us?"
"They actually didn't explain much but they seemed very sure of their decision. They said they like you and they'd love to give you three a home. You can always ask them why."
"Okay, thank you."
Minjae nods. "Okay."

"Is McDonald's okay for you three?"
"Whatever works for you", Minjae answers.
"Reese? Affinity?"
"We're fine, we love McDonald's. You should get Affinity a kids meal."
The girl gasps. "I don't eat those anymore!"
Minjae laughs to herself at the two bickering. Not only is it entertaining but Reeses logical arguments just prove how much he knows Affinity, further annoying the younger girl.
"I take it, that's not new", Mark says to her, glancing at them.
"I used to hear these kinds of things all the time. I've actually only heard an issue with them once and it was when they were playing hiding and seek and Affinity couldn't find him."
"Some of the older boys made fun of me for being upset."
"Yeah, there's a handful of idiots there."
Reese nods. "Agreed."
