Same Day, in the choir room
Third Person POV
"Sammy, come here for a minute." Stacy called from where she was messing around with the piano, her bag on top of it. He jogged over to her and leaned against the piano.
"Yeah Stace?" He asked. She pulled out a notebook from her bag and handed it to him.
"What's this? "He asked. She shrugged.
"I don't know. Before mama and daddy left, she told me to give it to you. She found it in one of the boxes in the basement." She answered.
"Huh." He said to himself, opening the notebook to the first page. It was a song called 'Heartache She Put Me Through', and it was in his hand writing. He didn't remember writing it, at least, until he looked at the date. Finished on: March 17th, 2010. He wrote it before he met Brenda. It was around the time he found out Quinn cheated on him with Finn. He looked at the rest of the songs, which seemed to be about either Quinn, Mercedes, Santana, or Brittany. One was even about Brenda.
Aftertaste: Finished on September 7th, 2010.
Stitches: Finished on November 12th, 2010.
What Hurts The Most: Finished on February 26th, 2011
Here Comes Goodbye: Finished on May 13th, 2011
Hold On, I Still Want You: Finished on November 12th, 2015.
That last song was about Brenda, because it was when she thought he was cheating on her and he thought that they were broken up. He must have forgotten about the other five when he got in the accident. Brenda walked over to him, knowing something was wrong because she saw how his smile slowly faded as he looked at the notebook.
"What's wrong?" She asked. He looked up at her.
"Uh, these songs. I wrote most of them in 2010 and 2011. Then one in 2015." He answered.
"Can we hear them?" She asked, and everyone turned their attention to him.
"Uh, most them are songs about Quinn, Mercedes, and Santana, or Brittany." She raised an eyebrow. He quickly gave her an explanation."They were before I met you. All of them about me getting heart broken." He finished. She nodded.
"Well, I don't care if they're about them. But, you don't have to sing them if you don't want to." He thought for a minute and hesitated.
"I will." He said finally. He grabbed a guitar and sat on a stool in the middle of the room, in front of everyone. He waited until everyone was sitting down and listening and said,
"This song is called uh, 'Heartache She Put Me Through'. Most of the songs in that notebook were written in 2010 and 2011, before I met Brenda."
Headed down the road again
With a heavy heart fighting my soul
I don't care where been
That's a story two lies ago
Yeah, well I've had my riches and I've dug up ditches
I've been in love a time or two
But nothing compares to the good old fashion,
Heartache she put me through
Ooh ooh
My darling part of me wants to let go
Oh you so charimng
Apart of me still holding on
And I can't kiss you when you crawl back
Love you if you want that
All that with nothing to lose
Nothing compares to the good old fashion
Heartache she put me through
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Passed by a friendly load
Her drinkin drug me back into town
And those long legs and that beautiful smile
Still toten your baggage around
Oh now I've been up to Portland
Try to sell my organs
But my baby kept a few
Ha!
Cus nothing compares to the good old fashion
Heartache she put me through
Got me like
Ooh ooh
My darling,
Part of me wants to let to go
Oh, your so charming
A part of me still holding on
Yeah I could kiss you when you crawl back
Love you if you want that
All with nothing to lose
Nothing compares to the good old fashion
Heartache she put me through
Oh Oh Oh
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
Yeh I've been up to Portland
Try to sell my organs
But my baby kept a few
Nothing compares to the good old fashion
Heartache she put me through
"Uh, this one is 'Aftertaste'."
Re-rewind Friday night, never forget it
How you let me go
No more lies I'll be fine I know where I'm headed
Probably should've known
And now you're gonna say, "Pretty, please forgive me."
Fool me once, told you twice you're gonna regret it
Now you're all alone yeah
Turns out that no one can replace me
I'm permanent, you can't erase me
I'll help you remember me
One more kiss is all it takes
I'll leave you with the memory
And the aftertaste
Close your eyes you can't hide
Try to forget me but I'm everywhere
I'm the smell on your sheets you weren't ready
When you left me there
And now you're gonna say, "Pretty, please forgive me." Yeah
Bet it hurts, it gets worse, you know nobody, said it would be fair, oh
Turns out that no one can replace me
I'm permanent, you can't erase me
I'll help you remember me
One more kiss is all it takes
I'll leave you with the memory
And the aftertaste
And now there's something in your way
'Cause you threw it all to waste
And you wonder if you could take back what you did that day and it hurts, 'cause...
Turns out that no one can replace me
I'm permanent, you can't erase me
I'll help you remember me
One more kiss is all it takes
I'll leave you with the memory
And the aftertaste
Truth is that no one can replace me
I'm permanent, you can't erase me
I'll help you remember me
One more kiss is all it takes
I'll leave you with the memory
And the aftertaste
And the aftertaste
He didn't even tell them the names of the other songs, even thought they figured it out on their own. Some of the girls, not just the ones he dated, but the others girls, were teary eyed.
"Um, this is the last song. It's called 'Hold On, I Still Want You'."He started." I was really sad when I wrote this, but, yeah."
Loving and fighting
Accusing, denying
But I can't imagine a world with you gone
Joy and the chaos
Where demons were made of
I'd be so lost if you left me alone
You locked yourself in the bathroom
You're lying on the floor in our breakthrough
I pull you in to feel your heart beat
Can you hear me screaming 'Please don't leave me'
Hold on, I still want you
Come back I still need you
Let me take your hand, I'll make it right
I swear to love you all my life
Hold on, I still want you
Long is this highway
Silent beside me
Driving a nightmare
I can't escape from
Helplessly praying
The light isn't fading
Hiding the shocking
The chill in my bones
It took you away on a table
I pass back and forth as you lay still
I pull you in to hear your heart beat
Can you hear me screaming 'Please don't leave me'
Hold on, I still want you
Come back, I still need you
Let me take your hand,
I'll make it right
I swear I'll love you all my life
Hold on, I still want you
I don't wanna let go
I know I'm not that strong
I just wanna hear you say,
'Baby lets go home'
Lets go home
I just wanna bring you home
Hold on, I still want you
Come back, I still need you
Now, the girls were crying because of the way he sang the song, with so much emotion. He was kind of annoyed by it though, he was thinking 'What's the big deal? It's just a song, and it wasn't even about them'. He rolled his eyes and put the guitar back on the stand. The bell rang, signaling the end of the day, which he was happy about.
