Today had been the day of the sports festival. The class have trained to their very best for this very moment, to show the world their future heroes. Class 1A had been preparing in the waiting room, donning their sports uniforms instead of their hero costumes. Which relieved Black, he'd already had enough with his own classes ridiculously bright costumes. He didn't need to see the ones from other classes
Black was leaning on a wall, listening into his classmates conversations from afar. That was until the class president came with a message for all
"Everyone, are you ready!? We will be entering soon!" Lida said with his signature chopping motion
'The usual huh? I suppose it's bound to get old some day' Black thought. However, it was interrupted when Todoroki walked up to Midoriya, which drew the attention of everyone in the room. The tension grew until Midoriya broke the ice
"Todoroki, what is it?" Midoriya asked nervously
"Looking at things objectively, I think I'm stronger than you" Todoroki said matter of factly, gaining the attention of the entire room
"Huh, y-yeah..." Midoriya stuttered
'Such weakness, such naivety. You are much stronger than these hero bastards and yet you bow down to such filth as if it's your purpose. Even without the power of One For All you are still far more capable than what these humans can ever accomplish' Black scolded the boy in his thoughts
"But All Might has his eye on you, doesn't he?" Todoroki questioned before continuing
"I'm not trying to pry into that. But I'm going to beat you" Todoroki stated, but was intercepted by Black
'Ugh, while I may not be the biggest Midoriya supporter, I won't be tolerating any blatant oppression from anyone' Black thought before he spoke out from the wall
"If the son of Endeavour is challenging someone like Midoriya then you really are pathetic Todoroki" Todoroki gave a mean glare to Black, he continued however
"I suggest you declare war on a student more fit to serve a challenge. Or are you so weak that you'd oppress one weaker than you to simply better your ego" Black mocked Todoroki
"Watch your tongue Black" Todoroki warned. Said warning however was ignored
"You've seen what I've done to Kirishima, do you doubt my will to inflict the same pain upon you?" Many had flashbacks to a training session prepared by Aizawa, Kirishima's blood curdling screams frightened everyone present that time. To experience such things at such a young age would do so to most people
Ashido couldn't stand the thought of it and stood up to Black. Ashido said "Why would a villain like you do such a thing to Kirishima, he's never done anything to you. What did he do to deserve it!" Ashido cried. Pointing towards the PTSD victim Kirishima, who was entirely avoiding the fight on his table. Black was as unmoving as ever and responded to her plea
"You may be right in calling me a villain Mina. But I also have my own set of wants that I wish to be fulfilled one way or another. Which also includes defeating the top of the class" Black confessed, earning a scoff from Bakugou with his squad
"Tch, as if that would happen" Bakugou commented
"Keep saying that to yourself Bakugou, all will payoff once you experience despair Infront of the whole world" Black said menacingly. However his crusade of intimidation was cut short by the class representative
"Not now everyone, we're about to start!" Lida said
'Black defended me from Shota? Why would the one who tortured Kirishima during training be doing this!? Well, All Might did warn me about Black somehow knowing about One For All but he hasn't revealed it yet' Black noticed Midoriya deep in thought and spoke
"You have no need to worry Midoriya, your secret is safe as long as you provide me a reason to do so" Black reassured Midoriya
'So he is keeping it secret for something. I may not know why your doing this Black, but thank you'
THE STAGE
The classes walked towards the centre stage in sync. The crowd cheered zealously for the incoming classes. And Hizashi was being his usual loud and obnoxious self, wonderful...
Once all the classes were gathered, Midnight was present on stage, many male competitors indulged in the viewing pleasure of her body until she whipped her whip and said "Time for the player pledge! Representing the students is-" Bakugou waited in anticipation for his name to be spoken, until someone else's name was said in place of his
"-Black from Class 1A!" Bakugou gawked in confusion at her words. Remembering what Aizawa clearly said before the sports festival in his mind 'Didn't Aizawa say I was the one to give the student pledge... WHY IS THE VILLAIN GIVING IT THEN!?'
Black exited the crowd with elegance, leaving an angrily surprised Bakugou behind with the extra's
"I WAS THE ONE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING THE STUDENT PLEDGE, WHY THE HELL DID IT CHANGE TO THAT VILLAIN!?" Bakugou yelled, only to be hushed by his fellow classmates
A FEW DAYS AGO: LOCAL BAR
"Principal Nezu, may I suggest something concerning the Sports Festival?" Black said
"Please ask away Black" Nezu took a sip of a drink in saying so
"I have no doubt that Bakugou will be the one to be giving the student pledge in the sports festival. However, Bakugou's personality concerns me as to the words he will speak on the microphone" Black said
"You bring a good point, we can't have a student of class 1A throwing swears on live television" Nezu agreed
"I propose that you bestow me the honour of giving the student pledge. I understand that you likely gave Bakugou the position due to his high scores on the entrance exam. However, I have proven time and time again that I am calmer and stronger than him. If you discount my villainous aspects" Black explained
"That's quite a big ask Black, but considering that you've proven yourself I will allow it" Nezu said
"I would like you to not inform Bakugou of this change" Black added, earning a happy look from Nezu
"So you want to revel in his suprise? Granted!" Nezu cheerfully said
"Hey what did Nezu just agree to?" Nemuri asked his co worker
"I didn't know the devil could make a deal with the devil" Hizashi felt shivers down his spine
PRESENT DAY
Black stood atop of the stage with a microphone in hand, all were waiting in anticipation to hear the black astronauts words
"I pledge to never hold back my power against you all. Whoever dares to stand in my path shall face defeat the likes they've never experienced before. As a student of UA, I will not tolerate a lack of effort among both my class and other classes. Let us strive to be the greatest of the great and show our limitless potential to the world" Black spoke, class 1A being rather surprised with how his speech turned out and had expected something more... inappropriate
"Magnificent speech Black. I couldn't have asked for a better representative. Now then, let us begin the games!" Midnight didn't waste a single moment and began
"This round is what you'd call a qualifier. Every year many drink their tears here!"
The gigantic screen visible to all was choosing the first game the first years would be playing "Now here is the fateful first game!"
Everyone was anxious in anticipation for the first game. A few seconds later the screen showed "Obstacle Race"
'Obstacle Race. Certainly not the hardest of the bunch which I'm thankful for. Engine and One For All ought to be useful tools in this first round' If Black had a mouth he'd smirk at his thought, however doing so would freak his surrounding competitors with his gut located mouth
Midnight then began to explain the rules of Obstacle race. Black then took a look at himself and began thinking of the quirks he currently possesses. At this point, Black had Erase, High Specs, One For All, Hardening, Explosion, Half Cold Half Hot, Creation, Engine, Zero Gravity, Earphone, Invisibility, Clones, Homing, Warp Gate, Decay, Black Hole, Voice, Somnambulist, the USJ Nomu enhancers and several more unnamed quirks from streets criminals
The group was then ordered to stand Infront of the starting gate, Black took a single look and immediately deduced that it was meant to be the first obstacle in the game. A quirk like Explosion will be able to propel himself above the others with rapid haste. The lights shut down one by one, everyone braced their bodies for immediate movement. Once the last light deactivated, Midnight announced "START!"
As expected, the crowd was stuck within one another due to the limited space. Black immediately used Bakugou's explosion to propel himself over them and exit the gate. He felt pity for the comrades trapped within the masses of meat bags but had no time to feel apologetic as the funnel was immediately filled by an icy burst by Todoroki of which Black shrugged off. Todoroki left the contestants with feet in ice and a slippery start whilst Black and several others such as Bakugou and Momo were behind him
Black was neck and neck with Bakugo in terms of their proficiency in their quirk Explosion, of which didn't go unnoticed to Bakugou. Seeing that he was using the same technique he was using, Bakugou yelled
"HOW THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THAT!?" Bakugou yelled at the astronaut beside him. Before being hit by one of Black's emerged tendrils
"I must thank you for gifting me with such a power Bakugou, this kindness will not go unpaid" Black teased the fuming Pomeranian
Black's legs then proceeded to emerge thrusters of which were then set to the limit. Combining the quirks of Engine, One For All and the USJ Nomu enhancements made for an excellent combo of mobility
With the added natural fitness of an Impostor, Black zoomed pass the competition with record breaking speeds as the other contestants looked in awe. Bakugou however wasn't having it and started to overuse his Explosion
"I'M NOT LETTING SOME VILLAIN BEAT ME THIS TIME!" Bakugou released the full power of his Explosion for maximum propulsion, knocking other contestants away with the sheer power of it. This didn't went unnoticed however, Black grappled Bakugou with his tendril and pushed him into a Warp Gate, teleporting him far back enough to see him in the distance behind. Leaving the infuriated pomeranian currently far behind 3rd place
'THIS FUCKER IS WINNING OVER ME!? NO! I WILL NOT BE LOOKED DOWN ON!' Bakugou angrily thought.
After doing so, he sped past Todoroki with extreme speeds. Leaving him behind to think of what he'd witnessed 'How in the world did he overtake me!? Wait, why did it look like he was using Lida's Engine? Just how many tricks do you have under your sleeves' Todoroki thought to himself, picking up the pace with his speed. Followed by Bakugou quickly following behind
All was fine for the speeding astronaut. However, a pair of robots appeared in the road which were simply ignored due to the sheer speed of Black's quirk combination. That was until a group of titanic sized robots which Black recognised as the zero pointers they used at the entrance exam were visible in the distance
'Avoiding such collosal enemies will be a hard task, I suppose force will be the only viable option in this predicament' Black thought to himself before creating several spiked tendrils from his back. A zero pointer attempted to crush the astronaut but had it's fist pierced instead, Black ran up to the zero pointers shoulder before jumping down from a lethal hight. Only to be propelled upwards with the help of Explosion lightening the fall damage
UA SPECTATOR LOUNGE
"First one through the first barrier is Black from Class 1A!" Said Present Mic through the speakers, his fellow teachers however were in their own separate section
"Black sure does have alot under his sleeve, didn't he say he had a quirk to edit his biology? I don't remember my biology teacher teaching about explosive animals" Snipe asked
"I've asked him about it and he just shrugged it off with "where's the fun in mysteries when you don't solve them yourself?". I'll ask him about it once Naomasa is free enough with his schedule to begin interrogating"
"Yeah, the sooner the better. We have absolutely nothing on his past, it'd be good to finally have him confess his crimes to give a proper judgement" Vlad King commented, 13 eyed Vlad for his words and spoke
"Not so hasty Vlad, Nezu will be the judge of that. And we all know how unpredictable Nezu can get under the right circumstances, correct?" Many nodded in agreement with that statement. Whilst they were discussing however, a certain creationist class 1A student defeated several zero pointers with a cannon
"The path is clear! She defeated those zero pointers so easily? No wonder she got in through recommendations. During the entrance exam, they were to be avoided. However, If you see them as things to be defeated, then they're just dumb hunks of metal. You'll start to see openings" Present Mic commentated before continuing
OBSTACLE RACE
Once Black had reached the second obstacle of the race he was then faced by a ravine, many rock formations connected with ropes were present to give the competitors a way of passage. He wasted no time using his warp gate over and over until he made it to the other side
'Kurogiri's Warp Gate is as potent as I imagined it to be. I should perhaps gift Kurogiri as a little thanks' Black thought, he continued his teleporting until his 3rd gate was placed. By this time Black had successfully "traversed" the Ravine
All was good for Black, except for his fellow contestants. With the three leading contestants being Black, Todoroki and Bakugou, the rest had been struggling to compete with such monsters
"Alot of different people are working hard for their chance, huh, Eraserhead?" Present Mic said to his depressing co worker
"Yes, this is after all their chance to prove their worth" Eraserhead replied
"And now, the leader of the pack has gotten through the second obstacle long before the second place had even the chance to step into it. Looks like he's getting fire up!"
Right after Present Mic finished his comments, Black had just made it to what looks like a minefield. Black chuckled at the so called obstacle and merely used Warp Gate to the other side
'So much for the final obstacle, I'm just getting disappointed more and more with how easy these obstacles are with Warp Gate. Oh well, time to end this child's play' Black then immediately kicked into high gear with his quirk combination
"Woah hoa! Look at that the leader of the pack just flat out ignored the minefield itself! What kind of quirk would let you do such a thing?" A surprised Present Mic asked
"A teleportation quirk is already quite powerful on its own. But consider how he managed to pass the others without it at the start of the race" Eraserhead replied
"A class 1A student is making his way towards the end! Give a loud welcome for the first person back to the stadium, who is..."
"Black!" Out from the finishing line came Black. He walked with grace towards the centre field, the audience cheered with zeal similar to the Olympics. Having this much of the spotlight made Black feel a certain way, an unnecessary desire being fulfilled to the fullest
'I suppose that this spotlight is not too bad to have. Now I wonder how Midoriya is holdings up against such fierce competition' After he thought of that however, the scene of Midoriya launching himself with a mine and metal plate was shown for Black to see. Upon seeing this, Black was absolutely impressed with the boys ingenuity and thinking
'Some may call the quirkless worthless, however that is merely because their power doesn't come in the form of a quirk. It comes from their mistreatment of society, their desire to be something. They are the ones who watch from the background unsuspectingly, they plan their way through quirks instead of with their quirk. After all, who would suspect a so called quirkless loser to be just as powerful as the quirked' Black thought full heartedly, many of the points he thought of were things he'd personally experienced
After a few minutes, Midoriya followed by both Todoroki and Bakugou made their way through the finish line
'Oh, He gained second place against these two? What a lovely suprise' Black went towards the exhausted green hair with a certain goal in mind
"I didn't expect you to gain second place Midoriya, you've exceeded my expectations by a landslide" Midoriya lit up to his kind words and immediately attempted to deflect his honest praise
"Oh thanks Black. It really wasn't anything, my wit's are the thing that got me here. I didn't even use my quirk so it's nothing much" Midoriya said, however Black merely shook his head at this
"You know Midoriya, I honestly believe that you are just as good or even better off without One For All. Your mind and determination are more than enough to compensate for what quirks can provide" Black wholeheartedly said, Midoriya looked flabbergasted at Black's words
"Huh! You r-really mean that?" Midoriya skeptically asked, Black nodded his head at the boys denial. He then placed his hand on Midoriya's shoulder and said
"It is the truth Midoriya, I really am proud of you" Midoriya shed a few tears of joy at this
'All Might warned me of Black. But his touch is so... warm. The only compliments I've ever gotten were from mom, All Might and a few of my classmates. But Black is a villain! A murderer, torturer, and a truly evil person! But he just said it as if it was the genuine truth. I-I don't know anymore, I really don't know anymore. All I can say is-'
"Thank you" Midoriya smiled with tears in his eyes. However, Black then unexpected pulled him into a hug. Shocking their classmates and audience. Midoriya looked up into Black's visor
"Your welcome. However, I have something to ask of you" Midoriya signaled Black to continue
"I want you to show you how powerful a human can be without a quirk. Because you have the potential to not only be a hero, but a hero to your people. The quirkless. You understand their pain, show them that the quirkless are not to be toyed and tortured with. Only after doing so will you earn my respect and forgiveness Midoriya" Midoriya's eyes widened his eyes in disbelief
Although what Black had been asking for is very different to what he originally wanted. He wouldn't deny that his suggestion didn't intrigue him 'Becoming a hero to the quirkless... all my life I've faced hellish discrimination just for my quirkless status. And the only time people started to treat me as their equal was when All Might had given me One For All. But even after that, didn't I just prove them right by taking One For All? So much to think about...'
Black then set the boy free from his grasps and extended his hand. Black said "Well, what do you say. Midoriya"
Midoriya took the hand instantly, with his signature determined look Midoriya promised
"I will not disappoint you Black"
