Craig's POV:Kelsey wanted to see Stacks again, something about wanting to talk about the latest chapter of their book. Me and Jp tagged along as Kelsey eagerly made her way through the books on the shelf and Stacks spun around to see us. "Stacks!"Kelsey excitedly ran over to Stacks and Stacks was happy to see Kelsey as well, they were quick to just drown us out and talk with passion about that chapter, to me and Jp it was like they were speaking another language with the references, memes and mentions of other stuff in the book me and Jp didn't bother to read.
Jp wanted to go check out some books so he made his way out of Stacks hide out, it's been a bit since I've read a book so I thought it wouldn't hurt to get a book too. Neither Stacks or Kelsey noticed me and Jp leave. Jp was quick to run to the science fiction but I slowly scanned the aisles to see what I wanted to read, fantasy? No I read that last time I should go for something different, as I walked around to look at books I saw a boy...No no, a pretty boy.
He was sitting down reading a book, his cheek rested in his palm as he read his book. His shining badges, the whistle around his neck and his blond hair were features I just stared at. I've seen boys around the creek but, I don't remember them being so pretty like this one. When I stared at him some more, he looked back at me when he caught my gaze and stared analysing my small features he...He smiled at me...My heart dropped to my feet when I saw him smile at, a pretty boy smiling like that at me...
I then recognized the boy, Jason...I remembered the day after he damned up that creek, how he picked up my choco roll for me after dropping it. He hadn't scolded me like the old Jason would, the rude boy would have scolded me but the pretty boy made my heart beat faster. Sometimes I wonder, how did I not notice how pretty Jason was until now seeing him at the library. I noticed how I was just standing there staring and how weird that must have been for him...I nervously waved at me blushing just blushing at him. Jason let out a quiet and small chuckle and waved back at me with the same smile he first gave me, I wanted to walk towards there so I did just that. "H-Hey...What are you reading?"I asked after I realized I didn't know what to say and that I couldn't just walk up and say nothing.
Thankfully Jason doesn't see how awkward I am and actually tells me the book he was reading, Safe at home. His Tiffany green eyes catch my own and I stare into them as if I'm hypnotised but I snap out of it when I feel a tug at my arm, it was Jp and Kelsey. Kelsey was done talking to Stacks so that meant we had to go. "C'mon Craig!"Kelsey and Jp said walking me out the library and I couldn't help but keep looking back at Jason, he was waving bye at me. You had no idea how much I wanted to go and be with Jason. But I just let my friends drag me from him, the pretty boy I could've said pretty words to. So they dragged me out the library, leaving the love I had for Jason for just me.
Present day
Sometimes I remember that moment at the library, I wonder what would have happened if I stayed with Jason at that library. But I hope not telling Jp and Kelsey I wanted to stay didn't make too much of an impact, right now I'm at the bus stop with Jessica, last night Jason had forgot his house key at his house and was locked out. I let him stay at my house and I admit, I was being a brat with him there I wanted to try denying how pretty I found him all those years ago. I knew he used to be a jerk so I thought it wouldn't be a good idea to love him. But I do love him I was just holding grudges, "My bus stop is back there, so I guess I'll see you around..."Jason sadly sighed then turned to walk to his bus stop I didn't want him to go, so to make up for being a brat I called out his name and offered for him to wait with me and Jessica.
He looked hesitant until I said something that made his eyes sparkle, "Yeah, what else are (boy)friends for?". He thanked me and we waited fo our buses together. I wanted to say boyfriends so badly but I didn't know how Jason felt yet.
Time skip
"You're very pretty..."I choked out standing with him, Jason looked up at the unexpected words in surprised. "Really?"His shoulders lowered and I nodded, he didn't know what to say. Kelsey wanted to talk to Stacks right now, they were dating now so she wanted to spend more time with her. Jp was off looking at books again, and when I saw Jason at this very library again looking at the books in the same aisle as me, I felt like I was at that very moment when he looked at me and I thought how pretty he was. I couldn't help but to go and talk to him and say he was pretty later in the conversation. "Craig! C'mon, you coming?"Kelsey called out to me with Jp just getting done with talking to Stacks. Kelsey was pulling on my hand to get me to move but I looked at Jason then Kelsey, "Go ahead without me, I'll stay a bit with Jason..."I sighed. You had no idea how nice it felt to say that to them, I felt as if I made up for the mistake I made all those years ago.
Kelsey and Jp listened to me and left the library to let me be with Jason, Jason seemed to have been surprised I stayed behind to talk to him. "Why did you stay behind to be with me?"Jason asked thinking what I did was out of character "Because I like you..."I said with a heavy breath. "I dunno if you remember but a few years ago we saw each other at this very library, you were reading Safe at home and I was thinking how p-pretty you were...Jason, we've both made mistakes and I'm so sorry for being a jerk when you were staying at my place before I found out your home life...All those years ago I wanted to stay with you at the library but I was too dumb to tell Kelsey and Jp I wanted to stay with you, I dunno why I did it maybe I wasn't willing to admit I like guys yet, but will you...Will you go on a date with me and be my boyfriend?"I asked.
The feeling of the world off my shoulders have never felt better, Jason stared at me like I was crazy. Maybe I am crazy, but oh well. Jason realised how long he's been quiet, it seemed like he wanted to say something but didn't know what to say. "Sure..."He finally choked out.
"O-okay"My voice shakes taken aback by his response. "I'm surprised you actually remembered what book I was reading, you wanna read it for yourself?"Jason asked then started walking to the aisle he got the book. "Sure! I kept wondering about it but I got caught up in other books"I sighed and let the pretty boy take me to the book he was reading on that pretty day.
