"I'm glad you didn't choose to intern with my father,"

Kazumi and Todoroki were waiting together at the train station to head to their internships. She was heading to the centre of Tokyo while Todoroki was heading that direction to meet his father in the city to work.

"He's highly skilled, but I don't think the skills he specialises in is the area I need to improve in." Kazumi informed him, the two sat down in the train together. "I heard that Endeavour doesn't extend a lot of internships, I'll wait for him and give him my regards."

Todoroki crossed his arms over her chest, puffing out his cheeks slightly.

"Don't speak so highly of him, trust me, he's not a good guy."

Kazumi smiled awkwardly. She'd been informed by Midoriya of Todoroki's rough relationship with his father. She didn't know the details, but she trusted that Todoroki's reasoning for hating his father was valid.

She knew better than anyone about tough relationships with fathers, so every man for himself.

When the duo hopped off at their stop, Kazumi waited with Todoroki for Endeavour. She was early anyways, so she didn't mind the wait. They didn't have to wait too long though when Kazumi spotted the pro-hero coming from a distance – he was essentially a ball of fire so he wasn't hard to discern in a crowd of civilians.

"Ah, Amano, I thought you were interning somewhere else." Endeavour said, holding out a gloved hand to her.

She bowed before shaking his hand, a gentle smile on her face.

"I am interning with someone else, I'm friends with Shoto so we came here together." Kazumi greeted back, Todoroki's face burning slightly when she used his name. "I wanted to extend a thank you for your internship anyways, I... I was shocked to see your name on my list of recommendations."

Endeavour nodded. He was just as stoic as his son.

"You're impressive. You beat Shoto after all." Kazumi didn't see it was a win, but she was grateful he thought so highly of her. "A talent like you couldn't be looked past. I hope the hero you intern with will help polish those skills you have."

"Thank you, Endeavour," Kazumi softly smiled.

"I hope you intern with me next time," Endeavour said before Todoroki scoffed.

"Alright, don't suck up to her, Father." Todoroki reprimanded, lightly shoving Kazumi away from Endeavour to talk to her privately.

Kazumi bowed again, saying her farewells as Todoroki took her away. When she'd turned away from Todoroki's father, she eyed Todoroki carefully.

Endeavour had been nice enough – a bit too kind actually – to her but his voice seemed to be laced with ulterior motives.

"Sorry about him... at least he was civil." Todoroki said, his hand on her shoulder as he turned around and slightly glared at Endeavour.

"Todo, you're fine, don't apologise." Kazumi reassured, seeing him so flustered was kind of cute. "I'm heading off now."

Todoroki whipped his head back around to face her, "do you need me to walk you there?"

He'd always been a bit of a gentleman.

"I'll be fine~" she reassured before a teasing smile appeared on her face. "Have fun at your internship!"

She turned her back, walking off.

"I won't!" He called, a small smile appearing on his face as she waved at him.

You have got to be kidding me.

Kazumi and Bakugou stood side by side in front of Best Jeanist, a whole group of other students by their side.

It was a downright sausage festival for Kazumi. She almost regretted picking Best Jeanist by the amount of boys that interned.

Had she... picked the wrong place to intern? Would she possibly rather be with Todoroki and Endeavour?

She shook her head. Nothing was worse than being in between an arguing father and son for a week. That was definitely worse than this.

That thought didn't stop her from feeling severely out of place though.

The first day really was just a lecture before they were sent to their hotel rooms to go over the material for their patrol tomorrow. Before Kazumi could open her hotel room door, a voice called out to her.

"Hey! You're that sound wave girl from the U.A. sports festival!"

Kazumi turned around, facing one of Best Jeanist's interns from another hero school.

"Oh... yes I am..." She responded, tucking her hotel card behind her back. "It's nice to meet you..."

"Akihiko," He responded, holding out a hand for her to shake.

She cutely smiled, shaking his hand politely before tucking a hair behind her ears.

"I hope we can work well together," Kazumi said, before glancing at her door. "I might head off."

Before she could slip her hand out of his, she felt his hand tighten around hers.

"Actually, why don't we study the material together over some dinner downstairs?" He said, pulling her towards him.

Bakugou, who'd wandered upstairs with his hotel card in between his fingers, sighed in annoyance as he saw Kazumi in front of the hotel room right next to his. It was bad enough that they both went to the same internship, now he had to live next door to her for a week.

He was going to ignore her, seeing that her back was turned to him, until he noticed she was talking to someone. He held his door knob, discreetly glancing over Kazumi's head.

Kazumi flinched, shaking her hand out of the boy's grasp.

Oh boy. That didn't look good.

"I'd rather not, to be honest." She gently declined, "I'm a bit tired."

"C'mon, it'll just be for an hour." Akihiko pestered, reaching out to grab her hand again. "Can't you let an average guy like me experience what it's like to have dinner with a pretty girl?"

Bakugou's face contorted into disgust.

Fucking Crybaby doesn't know how to defend herself still... He silently cursed to himself before rolling up his sleeves.

He was about to step in until he watched Kazumi grab Akihiko's wrist before using her school shoes to kick the back of his calf. He stumbled, onto his knees, Kazumi putting her knee to his back as she grasped his wrists tightly behind his back.

"Don't touch me. I said 'no', idiot."

Bakugou smirked, crossing his arms now as he leaned against his door to watch the sight before him. Oh how it was entertaining to watch a small girl like her pin down a teenage boy.

"It was a compliment," Akihiko retorted, veins on the side of his head as he clearly struggled in her grasp.

"Well, I didn't need it." Her voice was scarily calm. "I admit, it was brave of you to do something so stupid to someone who came second at the top school's sports festival. But I'm here for an internship, not to get hit on."

Kazumi pushed him onto the floor face down, glowering down at him.

"You're not even that pretty anyways, you bitch." Akihiko hissed as he slowly got up from the ground.

However, Kazumi put her foot on his back, the boy collapsing onto the floor.

"You really are incredibly stupid." She repeated, "leave my room before I get you kicked off this internship."

She watched in satisfaction as he scrambled off the floor, heading down a few rooms before stopping at the room furthest from hers and entering it.

She had a smug grin on her face, her arms crossed.

Bakugou held back a devious laugh, a hand covering the bottom half of his face. He couldn't help but think she was a lot like him when she was defending herself.

I wonder where she learned that, he thought to himself as he reminisced on the times he'd stood up for her when she was younger.

Hearing a low chuckle, she turned around only for her face to turn bright red.

"What?! What are you doing here?!" She exclaimed in surprise, her arms dropping from her chest.

"Clearly watching the most entertaining show of my life," he retorted in a slightly teasing tone, raising a brow. "Geez, go easy on him."

Kazumi rolled her eyes, "why didn't you help me?"

Bakugou stood up properly, tapping his hotel card on his door to unlock it. He opened the door, about to step in until he glanced back at her.

"Why would I help you?" He responded before looking straight into his room to avoid her eyes. "You're clearly capable of defending yourself."

Kazumi gaped momentarily at him, even after he'd closed his door.

He may call her a crybaby, refuse her friendship and annoy her to bits, but she seemed to have gained a bit of respect from him after coming second in the sports festival.

She smirked, feeling a tiny bit giddy.

She soon realised she'd definitely picked the correct place to intern when she'd witnessed Best Jeanist style Bakugou's hair.

"A hero must give the people who need rescuing peace of mind. You must be capable, of course, but your physical appearance, speech and actions must be elegant if you're a hero." Kazumi's lips folded into her mouth as she looked at the floor to control her laughter. "In other words, like this."

The group of interns clapped in genuine delight while Kazumi poked the inside of her cheek with her tongue, trying her best to contain her laughter.

"Miss Amano," shit. "Is something funny?"

Kazumi's eyes watered from holding in her laughter, looking up at Best Jeanist with a trembling smile.

"No." she quietly responded, a tear running down her face as she felt herself about to burst.

However, when she made eye contact with Bakugou through the vanity mirror, she lost all form of control she had and burst into a fit of laughter.

"Stop laughing, you idiot!" Bakugou shouted, standing up in his seat and pointing at her.

Kazumi only laughed harder as his hair poofed up back into his normal hairstyle because of how angry he was.

"Miss Amano, appearance is important, you know?"

She nodded, making her way towards Best Jeanist and Bakugou.

"I... I understand, but this hairstyle doesn't suit him at all." Best Jeanist raised a brow as she held out a hand for the comb. "If I may?"

Curious about what she was going to do, he handed her his comb. Bakugou bared his teeth at her as she observed his face in the mirror until he suddenly froze, her fingers gently untangling his waxed hair.

"His hair reflects his explosive nature," Kazumi said as she made a slight part on the left side of his head. "So keep his hair wild, but maybe slightly style it to the side."

She handed Best Jeanist the comb before she used her fingers to push his bangs to the side, spiking it in a chaotic but neat way.

Best Jeanist tsked while Bakugou stared at his reflection in awe, appreciating the way he looked for once.

"I prefer the neater look." Best Jeanist said in a disapproving tone.

Bakugou stayed quiet as Kazumi frowned, "a neat look won't work on someone feral like him."

Bakugou's eye twitched, "FERAL?!"

"Miss Amano," Best Jeanist called in a disapproving tone.

She was done for now.

Best Jeanist played with the comb in his fingers before pointing at the chair Bakugou had just stood up from, "get in the seat."

A shit eating grin appeared on Bakugou's face.

Kazumi stared in awe at her reflection. She couldn't quite explain how she felt. The girl looking back at her in the mirror looked like her... but not quite.

Kazumi's long, black hair had been tied elegantly into two low buns, the two white strands she usually tucked behind her ears had been styled as framing bits around her light bangs that had been styled into curtains.

He had wanted to give her high space buns, but given that headphones were a part of her hero suit, he knew that low buns would work better.

Best Jeanist had even gotten his makeup team to do some mascara and eyeliner on her, her lips lined with a natural pink that brought out her naturally full cheeks.

The entire room had been watching in dead silence as the pretty girl somehow became prettier.

"See, Amano, I heard that Mt Lady wanted to give you a makeover if you took her internship." Best Jeanist said as he leaned over her shoulder, playing with her curtains. "I can see why you'd avoid such an internship if you wanted to improve your skills. But don't forget that presentation is key."

Kazumi furrowed her nicely done brows, glancing at the blonde adult through the mirror.

"Female heroes are always glamorised, sometimes it doesn't seem like a realistic image to uphold while battling villains." Kazumi explained, slightly admiring her reflection. "I don't want to be belittled or thought any less of because I'm wearing makeup during a battle."

Best Jeanist shook his head, "You can be glamorous without being thought of as weak, Amano. Looking put together reassures the civilians that we are dependable."

Kazumi's eyes widened, Best Jeanist turning her seat around to face the boys.

She smiled at Best Jeanist, the hero smiling in endearment at the sweet girl.

Bakugou couldn't help but admire her side profile, looking away as the interns complimented her.
