y/n pov:
last week, rafe told me he had planned us a date night for friday, i was exited because he didn't do that much, normally he was more of a sex or party kinda guy, but tonight we were spending real time together.
i got ready, i put on a outfit that made me feel confident and i did my hair and makeup the way i knew i liked it, and so did he. i even wore the top that he said was his favourite.
he said he would pick me up at 630 and it was around 645, so i decided to call him.
it rang a couple times before he answered. i could hear music in the background.
"hey babe!" he yells over the music. i hear him walk to a more quiet place. "hi." he says. "um hi." i say.
"whats up?" he asks. "i thought we were going out tonight?" i say. "shit- did i say tonight?" he asks. "oh-um yeah.." i say.
"fuck baby im sorry i forgot about that!" he says. "it-its okay rafe. have fun at your party." i say as i hang up.
i tried not to be upset but it was hard, i thought he was finally making time for me but, no.
i was really bored so i called one of my best friends, jj, and asked him to come over.
currently jj was playing with my puppy.
i posted this to my snapchat story:
"so y/n why do look ya look so fancy?" he asks. "i was supposed to go out, but rafe was busy." i say. "ah." he says.
"so i was just the 2nd choice?" he says jokingly.
"he doesn't deserve you, you know. i really do not understand what you see in him." he says. "i love him." i shrug.
"this may be a shitty thing to say, but you seemed happier when you were without him. i never see you smile anymore, y/n." he says. "i smile." i huff.
"not really." he says.
my phone starts to ring and its rafe.
i answer it and press my phone to my ear.
"hi?" i ask. "what the fuck is wrong with you?! im not with you for a second and go to fuck maybank?!" he yells in to the phone.
jj heard the yelling through the phone and grabbed it out of my hand.
"thats how you treat your girlfriend? says a lot about you, man." jj says. "give her the god damn phone back jj- i swear to god!." rafe says.
"fuck you cameron, you dont get to treat her like shit and think no one is will find out, everyone fucking knows." jj says as he hangs up.
"why would you say that jj!" i yell in frustration.
"he is an asshole y/n! when are you getting get out of this damn brain wash and open your eyes!" he says.
"jj he loves me!" i say. "no-no it may seem like he does but im sorry y/n someone who treats you like that doesn't love you!" he yells.
tesrs prick in my eyes, but i quickly wipe them away.
"im sorry." jj mumbles. "i-i just cant stand to see you in this relationship where you aren't valued like you should be. you're so beautiful and kind and humble and funny and i could go on forever- my point is.. you-you're a gem y/n and he-he is like the hammer that breaks the gem." he says.
"that was dark." i say. "i-i just want you to realized theres so many people who could treat you better then that asshole." he says.
"oh yeah, like who?" i say. he shrugs, as a blush creeps on to his cheeks.
"like who?" i ask again with a grin.
"you know who." he says. "do i?" i ask. "damn well." he says.
"well im ganna go, good luck with your little boyfriend." jj says, he the gets up and leaves.
