Jaemin stands in front of his bathroom mirror, staring at himself. His focus is on his stomach, peeking out from under his yellow cropped t-shirt.
The shirt is comfortable and doesn't look bad on Jaemin. He likes it. But he's not sure his friends will.
The boy sighs before pulling off his shirt and entering his room to throw it onto his bed. Not wanting to get caught up in his negative thoughts, Jaemin does his best to hype himself up to try on his new clothes.
He gently moves from side to side as he figures out how he feels about the black, silk, ruched bust mini dress. The thin sleeves tie on the shoulders so you can make cute bows.
The dress is comfortable and it's nice on Jaemin. He was excited to order it but having it actually be on his body brings all these bad thoughts into his head.
His grandparents would probably have a heart attack, his parents probably won't understand, and his friends...
Jaemin doesn't wanna lose any of them but he really can't lose his best friends. He needs them.
Letting out a deep breath, Jaemin puts on the next item which is a two-piece set of a denim flare skirt with a white belt and a white cropped blouse with puff sleeves. The outfit is too cute for Jaemin not to admire.
He wants to take a picture but he doesn't want any evidence of this so he refrains and just stares at himself instead.
When Jaemins done, he carefully hides the clothes away, wishing for the day he can actually wear them in public.

Seeing Haechan standing in front of him in blue skinny jeans and a grey fitted hoodie does things to Jeno.
He tries to keep his eyes on the males face but even that is enough to quicken his heartbeat.
"You good?" Haechan asks, reaching into his cabinet for a bag of chips.
In this moment, Jeno wants this to be a regular occurrence. Something about how comfortable Haechan looks and how right he looks being in Jenos apartment affects his heart.
"Jeno?"
Haechan moves in front of the male and waves in front of his face to get his attention.
"Hm?"
"Are you okay? You zoned out."
"Yeah, I'm fine. Um, you look...good."
"Thank you. You always look good."

"Not surprised", Jeno admits. Haechan raises and eyebrow, hoping for him to continue. "Do these hangouts ever make you nervous?"
A tiny laugh escapes Haechan, startling Jeno until he answers, "All the time."
"You don't seem nervous."
"I'm trying to hide it but you'll probably realize later. Are you nervous right now?"
"Yeah."
"Just try to relax and let's do something that'll calm you."

When Chenle knocks on his door, Jaemin opens it and throws himself on the male, making him laugh.
"Hi, baby."
"Hi."
"All the supplies is in the car."
"How many cupcakes do we need to make?"
"Twenty-four. And I was told that my cousin, I don't care what the terminology is, insists that they have purple, pink, and blue frosting and she doesn't like store-bought frosting. "
"Me either. "
"I'm not surprised. I'll be back. "
Jaemin nods and cracks the door while he looks through his kitchen for anything else that he can use for baking cupcakes. Since he doesn't bake a lot, he doesn't have much but he does find a few tools and things for decoration.
Chenle comes back inside with a big paper bag that he holds onto tightly as he kicks the door shut and locks it.
"What's in there?" Jaemin asks.
"Every possible thing that can be used for baking. I don't usually have rules I have to follow when baking so I want to be prepared. "
"What kind of cupcakes does your cousin want?"
"Let me check."
"You don't know?"
"I forgot and now my cousin is gonna call me to yell at me."
Jaemin takes everything out if the bag while Chenle texts his family. He chuckles when he hears him sigh and then say a disappointed "hello?"
"I forgot! No, I was paying attention. Because last time you told me was two-weeks ago and I don't wanna scroll. Don't you dare say that to her. Fine by me." Jaemin looks at the pinkette just in time to see him smile. "Hi, princess. Oh, you changed it? Okay, let me try again. Hi, your highness. Royal highness, sorry. Your mom worded that wrong. Tell her I said she did. Cookies and cream. Chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla?" Chenle looks up at Jaemin, confusion on his face. "No, it's fine. Yes. Put your mom back on the phone, please. I love you. Bye. Are you on speaker? Okay, what the hell?"
After a few more minutes, Chenle finally hangs up and sighs.
"Everything okay?"
"My cousins daughter is exactly like her except she's adorable and my cousin is not."
"The royal highness part sounded funny."
"She's so sassy."
"Does she care what flavor cupcakes get which frosting?"
"I don't wanna ask", Chenle groans.
"Do you think she'll care?"
"Definitely."
"Hold on", Jaemin says as he draws on his phone, confusing the pinkette. "Okay, I got it."
"Is there a reason that the paper looks like that?"
"Um, it's pretty."
Chenle smiles and pulls Jaemin into his arms so he can kiss his cheek, making him blush. "You're so cute."
"You too", Jaemin mumbles, trying to relax his heart.
It was just a picture of paper with decorations around it but Chenles question made Jaemin panic. Maybe it wasn't obvious but he felt like he was hinting at himself and the last thing he was trying to do was that.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah", Jaemin nods. "I'm fine."

"Mark, have you met us?"
Mark slumps in his chair. "It doesn't have to be like this."
"And I thought Lele was joking when he said you're pouty. "
"Hey!" Mark exclaims, sitting up. "I am not pouty. "
"Sure, you're not."
Mark rolls his eyes eyes, making Jisung chuckle.
A semi-awkward silence falls over them as they look around them or eat their food.
Eventually Mark speaks up. "Why are we so awkward?" Jisung looks up at him but doesn't say anything, sensing he's not done. "Like Haechan and Jaemin aren't awkward with Lele at all and even I'm, like, less awkward with Haechan and Jeno than I am with you."
"I don't know", Jisung responds. "Lele is more social than I am and Haechan likes people, sometimes. Jaemin also likes people but it's tiring when he worried all the time but Lele wasn't like that. Well, not after he realized Jaemin wasn't my boyfriend."
"I remember that. He was still, like, trying to be casual about his feelings for you but he was jealous. And then after he met Jaemin, he felt so bad. He came over to my house and he was like "okay so that's not his boyfriend, he's just one of Jisungs best friends and the sweetest person ever and I'm an asshole"."
"He was actually shy to Jaemin at first, 'cause of the guilt, I assume but they got more comfortable with each other. Watching him get along with my best friend was amazing", Jisung tells him, unaware of the smile on his face.
"You're so in love, dude."
"I am. Maybe we'll go back to being awkward but this felt pretty normal." Jisung gasps, startling Mark. "We should talk about Haechan and Jaemin."
His attitude switch is almost scary to Mark. He's never seen the boy like this, not to him, at least.
"Sorry", Jisung apologizes. "You look terrified."
"Just wasn't expecting that."
"Well, can I ask you about my best friends?"
"Sure but if you threaten me, I really will get scared and uncomfortable."
"I thought you don't think I'm scary."
"I'm gonna take that back right now."
Jisung chuckles. "Don't worry."
"Chenle told me not to worry once and then he kicked a football at my head."
"Did it hit you?"
"No, I ducked and Lele bursted out laughing 'cause it went past my head and I was on the ground."
"I take it that something like that happened more than once. "
Mark laughs. "Yep. "
