Ruby POV
We are currently inside a bullhead flying to the direction that my mother cloak are headed. Yang and I were excited to say at least, uncle and dad are skeptical about it but agree to go along with us. Weiss and Blake also follow to see what happen. Vanitas was outside the bullhead riding Avian holding the cloak we follow him.
Yesterday
After the conversation with Vanitas, dad didn't take a liking to him for obvious reasons.
Yang: Hey sis, do you think I am a bad person?
Ruby: What no sis you-
Yang: I attack a friend out of rage for something that he have no control over. I still have a loving family while he is alone. I don't think I deserve to be a huntress anymore.
Ruby: No sis don't say that.
Weiss: Yang we all have that moment that we regret our action. You are just the same.
Blake: Yeah, I am sure he will forgive you eventually.
Weiss: By they way why are you wet?
Blake: Well... He kinda throw me off the cliff.
Weiss: That jerk throw you off the cliff?
Blake: Yeah but at least he decided to come.
Ruby: Let's just hope everything will go back to normal soon.
We talk for a bit until I realized my mother cloak was pick up by the wind and sent flying outside somewhere. I ran down looking for it but stop when I see Vanitas holding it but it was moving in a direction opposite from the wind.
Vanitas: Ruby where are your family?
Ruby: Oh they are still in the infirmary with Yang.
Vanitas: Where did you live?
Ruby: Patch in that direction.
I pointed
Vanitas: Your mother gravel?
Ruby: Uh, also at Patch.
His questions was getting a bit creepy.
Vanitas: Ruby I think your mother is alive.
Ruby: Vanitas please don't joke like that, it's not funny.
Vanitas: I found this knowing it was your so I use a spell to make it go to you but it's going the opposite direction from where your family at or your house. That's just mean one thing, your mother is alive and out there somewhere.
Back to present
We landed in a village in some island we follow the cloak until we reached a bakery. We go inside my eyes widen and tear began to fall down it.
Summer: Greeting what can I help you-
Her eyes widen see us.
We all ran towards her happily Blake, Weiss and Vanitas stay back.
Summer: Qrow, Tai it's been so long how are you?
Tai: Summer, dear. I thought you- you were...
He began to cry hugging her.
Ruby: Mother I-
Summer: What? Qrow when did you have a daughter?
My widen hearing this.
Qrow: Sum, she is your daughter.
Summer: Don't joke like that Qrow, my daughter is over there.
She pointed towards a girl that seem to be around 5 or 6 year old.
Summer: I want you to meet my daughter Levy. Say hi to mommy old teammates sweetie.
Levy: Nice to meet you.
She bow at us, I was in shock.
Ruby: No this can't be real, mother is me. Ruby Rose your daughter.
Summer: Sorry but this is the first time we meet.
I fall to my knees cry.
Vanitas: Do you remember anything?
Summer: What do you mean?
Vanitas: After Beacon do you remember anything?
Summer: I remember waking up on this island, the island was about to be attack by grimms so I save it. I remember my old teammates Qrow, Tai, Raven.
Vanitas: I see, do you remember anyone name Luna or should I say the name that she go by Vanitas.
Summer: You know Vanitas? We were best friend, I haven't see her in year But-
I saw Vanitas jump pass me his sword in hand aiming at my mother. Father quickly react and punch him away.
Tai: What are think you are doing!?
Vanitas: You remember them, yet you don't have any intention to contact them. You abandoned them, you abandoned your past, your friend and your family.
Summer: Look I don't know what you are talking about? And how do you know Vanitas?
Vanitas: Her real name is Luna and she is my mother!
Summer: You're her child...
Vanitas then began to chant.
I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body and fire is my blood
Ruby: Guy we have to stop him!
My team and I all charge at him trying to stop his chant, he dodge each and one of us.
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to Death,
Nor known to Life.
Ruby: Father! Uncle! Don't let him finish it!
Both of them jump towards him but Blood came out stopping them.
Summer: A Grimm?
Blood: Blood Chain!
Red chain came out and bind both of them.
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray.
Ruby: Please stop! Vanitas!
Summer: Vanitas?
Vanitas: Unlimited Blade Works!
The world change we are now in the wasteland fill with sword and giant gear in the sky.
Tai: What's the?
Qrow: What's this place?
Ruby: Vanitas don't!
He move his hand as swords fly up before all going down at us but they don't hit us only trapped us. He began to walk towards mother, she slowly back off until she tripped falling back. She turn seeing a staff and a white cloak on top of it.
Summer: What?
I then saw that there are something resemble a stone.
Summer: Luna?
Vanitas: Look! This happen because of you! Because of your cowardice! You wake up on an unknown place and yet you not once think of contacting your friends!
I realized that it was a tombstone.
Vanitas: Because of you she's die! She was worry for you! She went searching for you! Because of you she have to die!
Sword began to stab into her, she scream out in pain.
Vanitas: Because of you I lost her! I lost the only person that care for me! I lost my mother! I lost everything!
Levy: Don't hurt mommy! You meany!
I look down at her and a sword fly to his hand.
Ruby: NO!
Suddenly white light engulf everything when the light fadded. All the swords that trap us and the one that stab mother all disappear along with Vanitas, we ran up to her.
Blake/Weiss: Vanitas!
We heard them and look to the direction they are looking at. My eyes widen in shock and horror. Vanitas was standing there being impaled by multiple swords. He then began to walk towards us as the world turn back to normal but those swords are still on him.
Qrow: Kid.
Yang: Vanitas...
Ruby: Vanitas I didn't mean to-
He walk pass me not even looking at me or anyone, he walk out from the shop. We ran after him calling him but he not once look back.
Vanitas: Avian.
Ruby: Vanitas wait I'm-
Avian appear he get on him and they fly off.
Ruby: Sorry...
After that we decide to stay at the village of a day. Father try making conversation with her to remind her of her past. Uncle when off looking for Vanitas. Blake and Weiss also try contracting Vanitas still no response, Yang and I didn't talk much after what happened. I completely avoid Summer, not wanting to even see her.
Ruby: This was a terrible idea.
Yang: The more I think about what Vanitas said the more I agree with him. She maybe lost some of her memory but she still could have contact father or uncle or anyone. But she didn't, she just left everything behind to start a new family.
"Vanitas: Because of you I lost her! I lost the only person that care for me! I lost my mother! I lost everything!"
Those word keep lingering in my mind. He lost his mother because of her. The guilt are slowly eating away at my heart. We bring nothing but pain for him.
Summer: Ruby can we talk?
I didn't answer, I only got up and walk away.
Summer: Ruby, I-
She grab my shoulder but Yang knock her hand away.
Yang: Can't you see, she doesn't want to talk.
After sometime the village was attack by someone. We ran towards the scream for help only to see that person was bit by someone big and he fall to the ground dead.
Blake: A vampire.
???: Oh you're smart little girl. And a silver eyes? Oh so delightful I can wait drink your blood then eat your eyes little girl.
He charge at us swinging his claw, I was barely able to dodge it. Yang changed at him and throw multiple punches.
Yang: No way!
He was unfade by the hit, he swing his claw down at her, Blake weapon wrapped around Yang pulling her back.
Yang: My punches aren't damaging him.
Ruby: Maybe he can only be damage by sharp weapon.
Weiss, Blake and I all charge at him, attacking him with our weapon, we managed to do some damage.
???: Hunger!
A small wave of energy busted out, we don't feel any damages from it. But our stomach suddenly growl.
Weiss: What? But we just ate?
Blake: I think his magic is to make his opponent starve to weaken them.
He charge at us again we jump back, he then slammed the ground breaking it this make us lose balance.
He charge towards Weiss who was on the ground.
Ruby: Weiss!
Blake: Bind my foe with their shadow. Control them using my own! Shadow Tags!
Blake shadow connected to him making his claw stop before it can hit Weiss.
I grab her pulling her away from him.
Weiss: Thank for the safe.
Our stomach growl again now louder I start to feel fatigue trying my best not to fall.
???: Now then. Cannibal!
Another wave was shot out we are all to fatigue to dodge, I pointed my scythe down and fire sending me up dodging the attack, I then landed back down.
Weiss: Ruby I-I...
Weiss suddenly bite my hand.
Ruby: Weiss what are you-
Then Yang grab my other arm and bit it.
Ruby: Ahh! Yang!?
Suddenly my cloak was ripped off me by Blake, she swing her sword at my back cutting off my clothes and leaving a cut on my back.
Ruby: Blake what are you?
She then bite me as they all began biting me. I fall to the ground my teammates are all on top of me, I drop Crescent Rose and that guy stomp on her breaking her.
Ruby: No! Guy stop! It's hurt! It's hurt!
They were trying to eat me, I don't want to die. I still have so much to do.
Ruby: Please some one...save me...
I could feel the cut on my back and their hand digging into my open wound.
Ruby: Vani-tas.
3 POV
Suddenly three glass bottles fall down at them, RWBY all fainted, Vanitas appear right infront of them facing the vampire.
Vanitas: Finally decided to strike huh? Gluttony.
Gluttony: Naming us after the seven deadly sins. How thoughtful of you Cursed-Bearer.
Vanitas: I can search for you true name but that won't be necessary, since you all gonna die anyway.
Gluttony: You think that you can kill me? You aren't even a vampire, you just a human!
Vanitas take a quick glance at team RWBY they are all unconscious.
Vanitas: Since I don't have much time, I'll end this quickly.
Vanitas began to create swords floating behind him all aiming at Gluttony.
Gluttony: Hunger!
Vanitas jump up dodging the attack and send some sword stabbing into Gluttony.
Gluttony: Damn you!
He charge at Vanitas with his claw about to hit Vanitas, just them all the other swortd all began to fly at Gluttony piercing his body.
Gluttony: Damn...you... Cursed-Bearer!
Vanitas: Last word huh?
A sword came fly at Gluttony neck cutting his head clean off.
