Y/n PoV
Fucking hell everything hurts.
I rubbed my sore, crumbling body.
I looked at my hands, I was grossed out by their bony appearance.
I never thought I'd get this bad.
Everything was cooling down, I was just about to get served whatever Kai'sa was cooking.
My thoughts wander to Evelynn.
I misjudged her, significantly.
I leaned back in my chair.
They really went out of their way to help me.
I run my thumb across the back of my index finger.
I don't deserve this.
I sigh out loud and clasp my hands.
Especially after I failed to keep them safe.
I glance to my left, the front stood there, ominously.
I could probably sneak out, while they're all busy.
I could run away right now, and save them the pain.
I snorted
Nah...
Even if I tried, I'm certain Akali would track me down like a fox to a wounded bunny.
I ran my frail hands against my hair.
I made her a promise anyway.
And if she told Evelynn... well I'd have a better shot surviving a badger attack.
My thoughts quickly fade away as a plate is set in front of me.
Kai'sa: "Y-you looked deep in t-thought, s-sorry if I b-bothered you."
She smiled nervously.
I quickly go to comfort her.
Me: "No, it's fine, I needed a break from my thoughts anyway."
I smiled as best I could, with my cracking lips.
She blush before smiling back.
Kai'sa: "I made you stuffed potatoes with some extra veggies on the side."
Oh shit, this looks nice.
My mouth waters at the marvelous sight.
I chuckled
Me: "You didn't have to do all this for me."
She placed her hands on her chest.
Kai'sa: "But I wanted to."
I look away from her.
Fuck.
I looked down at the plate of food.
How the hell am I supposed to resist getting close to them when they treat me like this.
I feel my heartbeat speed up.
Kai'sa: "Ah! The doctor said you should take these pills before and after each meal."
She opened a small bottle with red pills. She popped two out, she set one on the table and gave one to me.
Well if doc, said to, I have to.
I swallowed the pill.
I stare down at the potatoes for a moment.
Kai'sa: "O-oh, sorry, I g-guess it must be h-hard for you to move."
She grabbed a knife and cut open the potato, then picked up the potato with a fork.
She held her hand under the fork as she moved it to my mouth.
She smiled at me warmly.
Kai'sa: "S-say ah."
My heart just about beat out of my chest.
I swallowed nervously before reluctantly opening my mouth.
Me: "Ah~"
My lips close around the potato, before pulling back from the fork.
I chewed silently and avoided eye contact with Kai'sa.
It's incredible, almost completely indescribable.
The meat is cooked to perfection, well seasoned and that's not to mention the small chili flakes thrown in.
I swallow the potato portion.
Kai'sa: "D-did y-you enjoy it?"
Holy Jesus please calm down body!
I nodded.
Me: "It's amazing Kai'sa."
She looked surprised but quickly closed her eyes with a smile.
It can't be possible for someone to be this cute!
She cut up another chunk of the potato.
This time with more enthusiasm.
She repeated the same process as before.
Kai'sa: "Say ah."
I opened my mouth again, quickly closing it on the potato.
There it is again.
That feeling in my chest.
Welp, time to repress that like everything else.
I enjoyed eating, but I felt uncomfortable eating it all my self.
Kai'sa: "How are you feeling?"
She placed her hand gently on my shoulder.
Me: "Better."
I stood up, but didn't fall over this time.
Quick recovery
I clench my fists.
Good.
I stretch out my arms, horrifying pops follow my stretch.
Kai'sa looked at me with fear in her eyes.
Me: "It sounds way worse than it feels."
I smiled at Kai'sa
Kai'sa: "O-okay, I'll take your word for it."
She smiled back at me, but the moment wouldn't last long.
Akali: "Yo, how you holding up?"
I shrugged.
Me: "About as well as I can given the circumstances."
I walked over to the couch, shakily but without any help.
Akali followed close behind.
Me: "Could you call the others Kai'sa?"
She nodded and walked to the kitchen.
As I sat down, Akali sat next to me.
She squeezed my arm gently.
I shook my head and reassured her I was fine.
The others had come into the living room not long after our small exchange.
Kai'sa sat on the recliner next to the couch.
Ahri stood to my left and Evelynn was leaning against the recliner.
I waited patiently for them to get comfortable. Then, when I felt their gazes fully focused on me, I spoke.
Me: "I've been saying a lot of half truths lately."
I leaned back on the couch.
Me: "Are you all willing to hear the truth? Even if you don't like it?"
Akali placed her hand on my shoulder.
I turn my focus to her, she nods with a serious look on her face.
Me: "Very well."
I closed my eyes.
Me: "I have a lot to admit to today."
I opened my eyes.
Me: "For the past four years, I've been intentionally starving my self."
An eerie quiet followed my statement.
Me: "If you're wondering the purpose? I did it to improve my ability."
I turn to face Akali.
Me: "Remember? I told you the first day at the gym, I told you I was working on improving apnoea's efficiency. This is how."
She noticeably avoided eye contact.
Me: "By starving my body of nutrients, I forced it to evolve efficiency. I'm sure I explained it to you, apnoea works purely off evolution."
I tried to flex my muscles.
Me: "And if you're wondering why you haven't seen me in this state? It's because I used a tiny amount of specialized apnoea to make me look normal."
My body regained it's natural tone and shape.
Me: "Viola."
Akali poked my arm.
Me: "Fascinating isn't it? Well it's not, I'm still lacking a severe amount of nutrients."
Akali: "Its uncanny the lengths you go to, to lie to others."
A small but sharp pain hits my chest.
I looked away from Akali in shame.
Me: "Anyway, I was aware that an attack might've come to the party."
The room suddenly got very tense.
Evelynn in specific, was staring daggers at me.
Me: "I was attacked earlier in the day when I went to pick up my stuff. Unfortunately for my attacker, the pit sent someone to stop them. And by stop, I mean rip their head clean off."
I gestured to a scar that formed when I was attacked.
Me: "They got a few good licks in though."
I crossed my arms.
Me: "Which takes us to the party, I had a suspicion they would try their luck then."
Evelynn cut me off.
Evelynn: "And of course in classic fashion you told no one."
Another stinging pain hit my chest.
Me: "C'mon you know me, if i told anyone I'd spoil the fun."
My poor attempt to lighten the mood was not well received.
I shut up and get serious.
Me: "I made two crucial mistakes back there. One, I failed to account that they would attack any of you four, and I let my guard down, for some healer girl working with the enemy."
I clasped my hands.
Me: "I was planning on running away, I even mapped out the best escape route so all four of you could get out safely."
I looked down at the ground.
Me: "Its really hard to think rationally when I saw what they were doing to Kai'sa. I got carried away and that was the final nail in my proverbial coffin.
I lift my hands to my chest.
Me: "I'm sorry I wasn't paying enough attention Kai'sa."
There was a deep pit forming in my stomach.
I felt my throat go dry when she made no response.
Me: "I uh... also lied to you, when we were on the couch. It was actually a dream about my attacker."
My eyes were glued to the floor, I didn't dare look up.
The hell is wrong with me.
They've had their asshole moments, but they took me in when I needed it. And all I've done is lie to their faces.
Maybe I was right after all...
Maybe they'd be safer if they weren't here.

...
If I weren't here.
I finally look up.
Me: "In all honesty, I'm up against the Pit here, and if you want my honest opinion, I recommend all of you get your asses back to korea."
I sighed.
Me: "Its not safe here anymore, not as long as you're with me. And looking after all of you while keeping ma safe is a little too much-"
Akali: "We don't need a knight in shining armor Y/n."
I looked at her surprised.
Akali: "My whole life I've been told what to do, and how to do it. Not this time, not again, and not by you."
I look at her confused.
Akali: "We aren't moving back, and you won't be the one to protect us."
I clenched my fists.
Me: "Look Akali, I get it, you think I'm just saying this because I think I know what's better for you. And you'd be completely right, you staying here is only putting yourself at risk."
She crossed her arms and huffed.
Akali: "I can take care of my self, I've been doing it my whole fucking life."
She jabbed her finger in my chest.
Akali: "So no Y/n you don't know what's better for me, and even if you did, you have zero right to tell me what to do with my life."
Shit now she's mad.
Me: "Fine, I'll leave."
She shook her head.
Akali: "Not in this condition you're not."
I rolled my eyes. Then Akali pushed her self on top of me, she managed to get me into a submission hold.
Akali: "Go ahead, try to get out."
I struggled to escape the hold.
Akali: "See? You can't."
She released me.
Akali: "Now you're going to listen to me."
I rubbed my sore arm.
Akali: "We are going to find a way to deal with 'The Pit' alright? For now, we're beefing up security, and we're helping you recover."
I sighed, defeated.
Me: "Akali, it's not that simple. The Pit is filled with dangerous, money laundering, criminals. They get their due, whether it be by money or blood."
She stared at me silently with her arms crossed.
I sighed one last time before turning to face the others.
Me: "All of you seriously can't agree with her right?"
Evelynn stood up fully.
Evelynn: "In all honesty, I'd rather go with your plan. From a logical standpoint, it makes the most sense. But the world doesn't always revolve around logic."
You gotta be kidding me.
Me: "Ahri?"
She sighed.
Ahri: "Its going to be dangerous, but I'm with them."
I look at Kai'sa pleasingly.
Me: "They are an organization of dangerous people Kai'sa, what they did to you is practically nothing compared to what they could've done."
Kai'sa said nothing, then pulled out the pistol I gave to Evelynn.
I couldn't help but chuckle at the situation.
Me: "All of you are crazy."
I felt an arm around my shoulder.
Akali: "We've dealt with scariest situations, I promise Y/n, we'll be fine."
Evelynn sat next to me, she pulled me into her warm embrace.
Evelynn: "We will be the ones protecting you this time."
I closed my eyes.
These girls are going to be the death of me.
I felt Evelynn hand gently stroking my hair.
Yet somehow, I want to believe it will all workout in the end.
