few weeks later..

ever since amory and i got back good, he's been more clingy but i wasn't complaining.
but he had been acting somewhat different, and honestly i was kinda concerned? i don't know.
"c'mere..." i said to amory as he came out my bathroom.
he kept his head down and sat in my lap,"you good??" i asked rubbing his back and he nodded his head.
"words.." i said titling his head up, his eyes was glossed over.
"i-i'm g-good.." he mumbled blinking his eyes.
"what's wrong baby?" i asked and he shurgged looking down.
i wiped his tears and he sighed before getting up and wiping his face,"i'll be right back.." i said catching his attention.
"where you going?" he asked pouting and i kissed his lips.
"baby i'm going downstairs, i'll be right back.." i said and he nodded his head.
i walked downstairs and called my mom while i walked into the kitchen,"yes ma'am, just take these and you'll be fine in a few days- alright have a good day na'...the hell you calling my phone fa and i'm at work?"
"well hello to you too mrs.archer..." i mumbled and she smacked her lips.
"what zarek?"
"okay it's about amory...i'm worried about him cause like he been doing shit lately and you knowww you a doctorrr anddd-"
"just tell me the symptoms dumbass..." she mumbled and i could hear her typing.
i started telling her everything that had been happening, from the waking up in the middle of the night, crying, shutting down-
"hold on...you ever learn what his life was like when he was a child?" she asked and i nodded my head.
"not good really...he said his mom had always been strung out on drugs and his mom and dad stayed arguing but once his dad went to jail you know...his mom had men coming in and out the house a lot and he was mainly neglected or abused..." i said.
"ahhh...zarek listen i believe amory has age regression...that may explain the random whining or thumb sucking..." she said and i scrunched up my face.
"hollon i need you to explain that to me- the fuck is age regression??"
"boy it's a way some people cope and that happens to be a way for him see...he could have certain triggers that go off and it makes him revert to a younger state of mind
it could be a way of him protecting himself from stress or anger, so if you see him starting to show or do like things kid-like...that's most likely what's happening, now i'd have to see myself some more or probably talk to him and i could see..
plus when i look him up in the system he does have depression, anxiety, and PTSD...and those could led to age regression.." she said.
"ohhh...so is there anything i could really do??" i asked.
"mainly just be there for him like you been have, you haven't made any rude comments towards him lately have you?"
" not unless i'm joking wit him nah i've just been comforting him tho.." i said.
"okay baby then just keep doing that and you'll be fine.." she said.
"okay that was all, thank you bye love you."
"love you too." she said then hung up.
"zarek..." i heard amory and i turned around.
he had on grey biker shorts and a light blue cropped blouse, along with the chain i got him and a few bracelets on his wrist.
"yes baby boy." i said wrapping my arms around him and he smiled up at me.
"can we go get some to eat..?" he mumbled and i nodded my head.
"what you want?" i asked patting my pockets for my keys.
"mcdonald's." he said holding the keys up.
"wow- you wanna drive?" i asked and he looked down.
"i never really learned how to drive.." he mumbled.
"never too late to start learning..which is today." i said and his eyes widened.
"i can't-"
"yes you can it's easy..." he shook his head no and placed them in my hand.
"mmcht fine, but one day imma teach you." i said and he nodded his head.

"eat ittt." amory said trying to stuff a nugget in my mouth.
"ion want it." i said pushing his hand away.
"mmcht...stupid bitch.." he mumbled putting it in his mouth.
"but this stupid bitch paid for yo food." i said and he flipped me off while staring at the tv which was playing cinderella.
"shit when?" i asked pulling him closer to me.
"never." he said and i smacked my lips.
"hand me my drink please." he said and i handed him his sprite.
i watched as he started gulping it down,"yo throat don't burn? know that shit taste like electricity." i said and he shrugged.
"kinda got use to it after the first sip.." he mumbled handing it back to me.
i placed it on my nightstand, i reached underneath the cover and started rubbing his stomach.
he leaned back against me and i could see his eyes slowly closing, then i remembered what he told me one time.
you know they say when people fall around you that means their inner child feels safe with you
"you not gonna finish your food??" i asked and he shook his head no.
"okay ma.." i said and pulled him on top of me, he moved around some before laying his head on my chest and started nodding off.
"i love you.." i said grabbing his hand.
"i love you more.." he mumbled rubbing his eyes.
i watched as he placed his thumb in his mouth then i took it out and he mugged me,"you don't needa be doing that, gonna mess up ya teeth." i said and he didn't reply but placed his thumb back in his mouth.
i just shook my head and rubbed his back with my other hand, soon he drifted off to sleep and i got on my phone then searched up age regression.
i wanted to learn some more of this by myself, after a few minutes of reading i started scrolling on insta then i gotta idea.

i made sure to put his @ so he'd see it when he woke up, i kissed his forehead and saw him smile a lil bit.
i took my chance and slowly moved his thumb out his mouth, he smacked his lips a few times but stayed asleep.
