Klaus said to Marcel and Annabelle, "You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to know the obvious. Our secret weapon has escaped."
Marcel replied, "She wouldn't just leave. She knows the witches want her back."
It was then that Elijah entered the room and told them, "Her violin is missing. She may have left of her own volition."
Then Marcel turned to Elijah and asked him, "What did you say to her in the attic? She lied to my face so she could stay up there, thinking that you'd help control her magic. How do we know that you didn't take her?"
Elijah said to him, "I have no idea where Davina is or why she ran away. Can I suggest you take a step back?" As Marcel started to walk away from him, Elijah told him, "I can assure you, I have absolutely no desire to see that child come into harm's way. She's suffered enough with this Harvest Ritual nonsense."
Klaus replied, "That child to whom you refer so affectionately is the most powerful witch in New Orleans. If she's fled, what's to stop her from destroying us, in fact, destroying all we've worked for? No. If she's not a friend to this family, then she is our enemy."
Marcel said to him, "She is a friend, Klaus."
While Annabelle slowly tilted her head and started to eye Marcel, Klaus said to him, "Well, let's hope so. Lucky for you, I know how to get her back. Follow my lead."
After bringing Marcel to a halt, Elijah told him, "You know how Niklaus operates. If he perceives a threat, he can become quite ruthless. This would not bode well for Davina."
Marcel replied, "I'm not gonna let anybody lay a finger on her."
Elijah said to him, "Nor will I." Then he glanced over at Annabelle, who was quickly walking after Klaus, before he said, "Now, Annabelle, on the other hand..."
Marcel said to him, "I can handle Annabelle."
Elijah replied, "Can you, really?" When Marcel only nodded in response, Elijah told him, "Because based on my memory, the only person who could truly handle Annabelle has been dead for months now at the hands of a doppelganger and her brother. With Kol gone, there is no one that could truly handle her as well as he could. So tread carefully. Annabelle's quite known for her distrustful and hateful nature towards witches. With Davina being how she is, Annabelle wouldn't hesitate to kill her, if she saw so much as a single opportunity to do so."

While Klaus and Annabelle started to look around the street and through the large crowds of people, Marcel told Elijah, "Kieran is gonna call me first if he hears anything."
It was then that Klaus and Annabelle made their way over towards where the three of them were standing as Klaus said, "Ah, you two look rather crazy."
Marcel replied, "Hardly. I was just telling Elijah how we're wasting time."
While Annabelle slowly tilted her head and started to eye Marcel, Klaus asked him, "You don't like festivals?"
It was then that they heard a voice reply, "I don't see why not. Who doesn't love a street fair?"
While Annabelle slowly turned her head to look over at Rebekah with her hands now clenched into fists, Klaus asked her, "Little sister, come to help us find our stray?"
Rebekah said to him, "We can't let your secret weapon get in the wrong hands, can we?"
Klaus replied, "For the record, we are moments away from retrieving her."
While Rebekah silently eyed her older sister, who looked as if she was about ready to stake her right then and there, Elijah said to Klaus, "I recognize that tone of voice, Niklaus. Clearly, you have some diabolical machination. What is it?"
Instead of responding, Klaus walked away from the three of them and over towards a teenage boy before he said, "Timothy... Might I have a word?"
* * *
As they walked down a set of stairs in the compound, Klaus asked, "Where's Rebekah gone off to?"
Elijah replied, "It's not Rebekah that I'm concerned about. And how are you so certain that Davina will come?"
Klaus retorted, "One might think you've forgotten what it's like to be in the grip of an all-consuming infatuation. She'll come."
While Annabelle slowly tilted her head and stared up at Timothy, who was currently playing a tune on his violin, Elijah asked Klaus, "Are the maudlin theatrics absolutely necessary, Niklaus?"
Klaus replied, "It's a fair point." Then he pointed up at Timothy as he said, "Timothy, play something a little more upbeat, please. That's a good lad."
Not long after Timothy started to play a different tune on his violin, Marcel entered the main part of the compound, which got Klaus to say to him, "Took you long enough to spread the word."
Elijah replied, "Have you met his nightwalkers? Not the brightest assortment."
Marcel told them, "All that matters is, I got it covered. When Davina gets here, you three need to let me do the talking."
While Annabelle started to turn her attention over towards Marcel, who was pointedly staring directly at her, Klaus said to him, "Well, I'm sure you'll have your chance." Then he started to walk past Marcel as he said, "Hello, love."
It was then that Davina quickly entered the main part of the compound, while Klaus pointed up at Timothy and said to him, "Silence is golden, Timothy. Thank you."
Not long after Timothy stopped playing on the violin, he turned to look at Davina with furrowed eyebrows as he said, "Davina?"
After quickly looking back at the three Originals, Davina told them, "You got me here. Now let him down."
Klaus replied, "Well, first, we have to have a little chat about you returning to the fold."
While Annabelle tilted her head and silently eyed the young witch, Marcel took a step towards Klaus and quietly asked him, "What did I say, Klaus? I got this." Then Marcel turned to Davina and asked her, "D, what happened? Why'd you run? Talk to me. Hey, I can make it right."
Davina replied, "How, by threatening my friend?"
Then Klaus turned to Davina and said to her, "Actually, that was my idea. Apologies. I've been known to go too far to make a point, but I do always get results." Just as Davina started to chuckle to herself in response, Klaus gestured towards Annabelle as he said, "Annabelle, however, wanted to see it done that young Timothy fell to a young and tragic death the moment you set foot into the compound."
After chuckling to herself once more, Davina said to Klaus, "You pretend to be so confident, but I know the truth. You're afraid everyone can see what you really are— an animal..."
Then Klaus was suddenly brought down to his knees, which got him to let out a yell.
Just as Elijah, Marcel and Annabelle started to make a move towards Davina, the three of them were brought down onto their knees as well.
While the two remained completely still, Annabelle started to heavily shake from where she was forced down onto the ground and her veins started to come onto display as Davina said to Klaus, "A beast. Why don't you show us your real face?" After forcing Klaus to raise his head and look up at her, Davina said to him, "That's enough of you."
Then she snapped Klaus's neck, which got him to fall onto his side.
It was then that Elijah said to her, "Davina, you don't have to do this."
As she started to walk towards Elijah, she said to him, "You—" After raising her hand and getting Elijah to straighten his back, she told him, "You looked me in the eyes and lied to my face, pretended you wanted to help me."
Elijah replied, "Listen to me."
While choosing to ignore his words, Davina said to him, "You call yourself the noble one, but you're a killer just like your brother. For a thousand years, you fed on innocent blood. Why don't you choke on it?"
It wasn't until Elijah did indeed start choking on blood that Annabelle's shaking had worsened, which got Marcel to look between the unstable Original and Davina with furrowed eyebrows.
After Elijah had also fallen onto his side, Davina stepped in front of Annabelle, who looked as if she wanted to murder the young witch at that exact moment, before she said, "And you—" When Annabelle only tilted her head in response, Davina told her, "Although I might not have had any interactions with you whatsoever, you did nothing but torment this city and kill anyone you saw, no matter who they were. And from what I was told, you've been doing that since the day you were made a vampire over a thousand years ago. I would like to know why."
Annabelle replied, "And you know what I would like to happen, Davina?" When Davina didn't respond, Annabelle yelled, "For you to die for what you've just done, you insolent, little bitch!"
Instead of responding, Davina silently watched as Annabelle shaking had increased before she slowly walked towards Annabelle and placed a hand on top of her head.
The moment she did, she was overwhelmed with rapid images of Annabelle slaughtering dozens of people and all of the times she was daggered by her siblings.
What stood out the most, though, was the moment Annabelle started to sob in Kol's chest at the realization that her husband and children were dead.
It wasn't until Davina pulled her hand away from the Original and backed away from Annabelle that she said, "Now I understand why you're called the unstable one. You've killed many families for the simple reason that you lost your own by your own bloodlust. That's enough torture as is. You don't need my help to make you feel pain."
While Marcel looked over at Annabelle, whose face had fallen by the mere reminder of the deaths of her husband and children, Davina told her, "But that doesn't change the fact that you're a monster and a murderer. You would kill again, just as you've done for over a thousand years. So instead of hurting you the way I have just hurt your brothers, I will do something else."
Just as Marcel's eyebrows started to furrow, he suddenly stopped when Davina raised her hand and Annabelle started to let out a scream.
For several long moments, Marcel watched as Annabelle writhed onto the ground, while Davina rapidly dug through each of Annabelle's submerged memories and the ones that were hidden away back into the light.
It wasn't until Davina lowered her hand that Annabelle fell face-first onto the floor and remained that way for a couple seconds before she raised her head and asked, "What the hell did you just do to me?"
Davina said to her, "I've just unlocked all the memories that were hidden away, deep into your subconscious. Even the ones that you didn't even know you had that were hidden from you. So now you can see the true reasoning for why you have become the monster you are today."
For several long moments, Annabelle remained silent as she thought over all the images that were forced upon her by Davina.
It wasn't until she saw the mere images of her mother standing by her side both when she was pregnant with her children and when she was made a vampire that made her realize one thing.
She wasn't the one at fault for the deaths of her husband and children.
It was her mother, Esther, who was responsible for their deaths.
So as she started to shake once more, she slowly looked back up at Davina, who only waved her hand, which got Annabelle to fall face-first onto the floor and leave only Davina and Marcel to remain the only conscious ones in the main part of the compound.

After Marcel woke up to find Elijah and Annabelle standing above him, Elijah said, "Oh, isn't this monumentally awkward."
While Elijah helped bring Marcel up onto his feet, Klaus asked with a phone pressed against his ear, "Rebekah, where are you?"
Rebekah told him, "I'm with Davina, and she's dying because of your treachery."
Klaus replied, "Well, I tried to talk to her out of respect for Marcel, but she made it quite clear she is not our friend. My apologies if you thought she was yours."
Rebekah said to him, "Just tell me how to cure her. Vampire blood isn't working."
Klaus said to her, "No. It wouldn't. You see, the poison I compelled Timothy to feed her is quite potent. It's just a matter of time for her."
Rebekah replied, "For both of them, you diabolical bastard. They're children. We could've dealt with her fairly."
Klaus told her, "There is no dealing with those who threaten us. Davina sealed her fate when she stood against me. This was her choice, not mine." Not long after Klaus hung up on Rebekah, he chuckled before he said, "Oh, come on. The stench of your judgment is overwhelming. Need I remind you that Davina just bested the lot of us? I did what had to be done."
As he started to walk towards the three of them, Klaus said, "Don't worry, Elijah. I remain as redeemable as ever."
Elijah replied, "So you compelled that boy to poison Davina without consulting Marcel or myself."
Then Marcel asked Klaus, "You know what the worst part is? Is that you're so predictable, I had to make an alliance with your brother, who I don't even like."
As Elijah went to step away from the three of them, Klaus said to Marcel, "Judging by your expression, you have something you'd like to share."
Marcel replied, "Damn straight, I do. I got a call from Kieran earlier, right after Sabine and some witches almost got their hands on Davina first."
As Klaus turned his back on Marcel, he said to him, "So when you slipped away to allegedly check on your nightwalkers, you were, in fact, colluding with a witch." While he turned to look back at Marcel, he said, "That's very clever. I suppose I should be proud."
Marcel told him, "Eh, I just wanted to make sure I had a failsafe just in case, as Elijah expected, you started acting like you."
As he started to walk towards Marcel, Klaus replied, "Except that now you've involved the witches, who, last time I checked, were enemy to us all, to everything we have, and to our family."
It was then that Elijah said to him, "Davina is Marcel's family, Niklaus, or did that somehow slip your mind as you tried to take her life?" After a couple seconds of silence, Elijah said to him, "You will call Rebekah. You'll tell her that Davina will recover. Do wish the same could be said for that boy."

While pregnant with her first-born, Annabelle was awaiting the day she could move out of her childhood home and leave with Atticus so that she could marry him and break ties with her parents.
Although being pregnant with a child wasn't the way she expected to leave the home where she had been tortured for as long as she could remember, she supposed it was better than nothing.
So the most she did as she waited was keep a hand on her stomach and hum a tune she heard one of the villagers use when she walked through the village the other day, only to stop when she heard approaching footsteps.
She looked up with a smile on her face and expected it to be Kol, who was adamant on getting her everything she needed after she revealed to him that she was pregnant with a child, only for her smile to fall from her face when she saw her mother enter her bedroom with a small smile on her face.
Before Esther had the chance to say something to her, Annabelle said to her, "If you think that just because I'm pregnant that means you'll be involved in my child's life, then think again. I'd rather you kill me now than for you to torture my child the same way you and Father tortured me for the past ten years."
With her hands held up in front of herself, Esther told her, "That's not why I'm here. I'm simply here to ensure nothing bad could come from the birth of your child."
Annabelle replied, "Do you mean aside from the fact that my child's psychopathic grandmother wishes to be involved in their life?"
While she shook her head, Esther said to her, "No, Annabelle. I mean that there are threats to your child that you have yet to know, and I want to ensure that nothing bad ever happens to your child. That's all."
Before Annabelle had the chance to respond, Esther already had her hands on Annabelle's stomach and started to mutter a chant under her breath, which got Annabelle to let out a groan as she felt something press against her stomach.
Not long after that, Annabelle started to fall forward, only to stop when Esther caught her and kept one hand on Annabelle's stomach as she continued her chant.
It wasn't until she started to lower her hand from Annabelle's stomach that she said, "I do apologize for what will come of this, Annabelle, but there is a threat on your first-born child and I cannot allow this threat to come back and take them." As she started to place Annabelle back down onto her bed, Esther told her unconscious daughter, "Now I might not know what will happen from this day onward, but I will see to it that this threat does not come anywhere near your child. I won't allow it."

Not long after Annabelle had left the compound, she started to think over what Davina had done to her.
She knew that the young witch was against her and her family, so she couldn't quite understand why Davina had unlocked some memories that were locked up deep inside of her own head.
Nor did she understand why there were these images from when she was still human that she didn't remember ever happening.
The fact that unfamiliar memories started to overwhelm her head worried her.
She didn't know why it was only just now that she was reminded of things that had apparently happened, nor did she know why they were hidden from her by her mother of all people.
What she did know was that Esther had apparently done something to her that had caused her to black out and murder her own husband and children and she was determined to find out just why Esther had done it.
