San remained quiet, too ashamed to say anything.
"Yes, I am."
"I'm sorry..."
The blind guy laughed. "Don't apologize, it's not your fault...no need to make me feel more pathetic."
"That's not-"
"I don't care what you meant, now please leave."
"Why do you always tell me to leave?"
"I don't trust you."
"I've never done anything to you."
"It's not you, I don't trust anyone."
"Do you sleep on the streets?" San asked out of curiosity more than sympathy.
"Better than being in an unloving house."
San frowned. Was he that miserable before becoming homeless?
He sat down on the ground next to the other. "It's the same for me really..."
"How?"
"Ever since I lost him...my house never felt like home or felt nice at all...I'd rather be outside."
"He must have been special, whoever he is."
San lifted his head up to the sky and closed his eyes shut to stop tears from escaping.
"My everything..."
"What happened?"
"Died in a plane crash..."
"I also lost someone important." The homeless guy admitted. "I wouldn't be like this if I hadn't lost him."
"Who did-" San was about to ask when he received a phone call.
"San! I need your help."
"Hyung...what's wrong?"
"Yeosang got really sick and we'll stay in hospital tonight, could you please watch our cat?
"Sure..." San showed no interest in either information, but the guy on the other line was too busy to pay attention.
"Thank you!" Seonghwa hung up.
"I should go..." San got up.
"Okay...will you come back tomorrow?"
San smiled a little. "Yeah..." he put his phone back in his pocket, got up and walked away.
He misjudged this guy so badly.
But now he wants to be friends with him.
After picking up the couple's cat, San drove home. At least he'll have company with him.
He laid down in bed, gently but absentmindedly petting the white fluffy cat as he thought of the homeless guy on the bridge.
They seemed to have a lot in common.
But is seemed like something is missing.
Something he felt the need to know about the other.
Maybe it was just curiosity to know his story, or maybe it was genuine interest in the guy himself.
San looked over at the rose laying on Wooyoung's side of the bed. "I really want to help him babe...but I don't know how..."
.
.
.
"Thank you so much San, and I'm sorry again for troubling you." Seonghwa apologized again while picking up his cat from San's flower shop.
"It's nothing hyung, how's Yeosang doing?"
"He's better...it just seems that he overworked himself."
San hummed. "Take care of him."
"I will, thank you." The older waved and left in a hurry.
San closed the shop in the evening and locked everything up before making his way to the bridge.
It was a new thing to look forward to every night.
Some flavor to his tasteless life he's been living for a year.
"Good evening."
The homeless guy sensed a smile in the familiar voice. "It's you again."
"Yep." San san down on the ground next to him.
"Why do you keep coming?"
"I have nothing better to do with my life."
"Clearly."
San chuckled. "I'm San by the way."
The homeless guy hummed. "Nice to meet you."
San stayed quiet for a moment, waiting for a certain information.
But he received nothing but quiet in return.
"And ...you?"
"I don't know."
"What?"
"I don't know my name, is that strange?"
San looked at him confused. "Yes?"
"Really...I know nothing about myself."
San frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I told you I lost someone...and that is myself."
"Mind me asking how..?"
The nameless guy shrugged. "I don't know...I just found myself on the streets with no memory of anything." He sighed and took his hat off. "And honestly I don't even know if I'm from this city or if I can find anyone who recognizes me."
San's eyes tripled their size when the hat was taken off.
That face
He couldn't even speak.
"Hello? Are you still here?"
San couldn't respond, he felt frozen.
The blind guy sighed. "Should have known he wasn't interested..."
"No! No I'm still here, I'm just..."
It made him flinch, but he still turned his head to the source of the voice. "What?"
"Can you take your sunglasses off please?"
"Excuse me?"
"Please..."
"I can't...I was told my eyes were deformed... due to an accident I guess..."
San frowned, but still begged. "Please, just let me see them."
"You're acting really strange!"
"I'm begging you!"
The blind guy shifted away from San in a defensive manner. "Go away."
"Just...I might be able to recognize you!"
There was a quiet moment before the confused one of the two slowly took his sunglasses off.
What does be have to lose?
