Deans lifeless body lay on the floor, the blood in his head filled the hole the bullet had left in his head eventually spilling outwards, the house was on fire thanks to Dean. More reanimated were coming from different directions, "Pass me a gun." Alice declared in a more calm tone, Luros passed her a 9mm, "move the guns from the car with no fuel. Some are already in there we need to go." Alice requested. They started transferring the guns and Alice looked around for Reanimated that were getting too close, Kyros dived into the drivers seat after packing up what was almost the last of the boxes,
Zane collapsed to his knees at the front of the house, tears running down his face, Luros watched him stare at the house and remembered.
where is Camilo?
Her head instantly twisted and saw him laying down unconscious just beside the fire, she skidded towards him and picked him up, thrusting him upwards, she sprinted over to the car and sat him down against the car, "This box is annoyingly more heavy. What's in this thing?" Zane rhetorically asked. Alastor jogged over and helped him carry the box. "That's the last of them!" Alastor shouted. "Everyone get in!" Kyros shouted not even a full second after. Alastair slid into the middle in the back, followed by Alice in the back left, Zane hopped into the front with Kyros and Luros picked up Camilo and climbed into the car. Kyros started the engine, and then Alice rolled down the window, aimed quietly for a few seconds, and then bang. She shit the box, full to the brim of explosives, sending reanimated limbs flying. She rolled up the window and they drove into the forest, then into the highway, and so on.
Hours later, morning.
The highway was almost completely empty, well, on the side they were on atleast. Kyros sat driving in the middle of the highway, with his arm hanging out of the window, Zane was leaning forwards with his arms folded on the dashboard, and his head resting in his arms asleep. Luros was awake with Camilo's head on her lap, she was leaning against the window gazing out at the cars in the other lanes. Alastor was asleep with his hands tight in his pockets, and his head laying back. Alice was asleep with her notebook and pen sprawled on her lap by Camilo's feet. Camilo was still unconscious with his head resting on Luros's lap.
Zane's eyes twinkled open and fluttered repeatedly. He looked at the rising sun and asked. "What time is it?" Kyros's eyebrows raised. "Uhh, it's been about 6 hours since we left, you fell asleep last, Luros just before, Camilo was asleep the whole time and Alastor and Alice fell asleep at the same time." He explained. The car went silent for a few seconds. "It's too quiet, put the radio on, wait. It's down," Zane paused and searched the glove compartment, "oh! A CD, time to see what this thing has got." Zane said and inserted the CD. The first song on the list was. "Whip it". "Wow, actually good music," Kyros said, The two nodded their heads and Kyros continued to drive into the distance, Alice woke up a few seconds after the music came on and looked around in a distorted manner, "Oh yeah, the house burned down... and we're in a five person car when there's six of us." She muttered. "Oh I know this." She said after realising the song that was on. They all started singing to it and eventually that turned to screaming, even Luros started to sing along at some point. "What's going on?" Camilo asked waking up. Zane flicked the music volume down and Kyros slowed the car, as Camilo wriggled around a bit Alastor woke up, "oh, we're all up now." Alice said before Alastor could speak. "Well put the music back on, I was liking that." Luros said disturbing the few second silence. Kyros slid the volume and the music came on. And they drove off into the highway
A day later, noon
Kyros continued to drive up the hill, it was equally steep as it was flat, he turned left and the sign said: "mountain visitor centre, welcome!" With Welcome crossed out with "turn back!" But the exclamation mark was still normal. Kyros slowly rolled the car in through along the path and slowed the a diagonal halt, a campsite, empty of Reanimated, but full of tents, "Guys wake up!" Zane shouted to the others. The others stumbled awake and Camilo crawled instant out of the car door, waking Luros, Alastor, and Alice up. Camilo sprawled onto the floor outside, Luros followed and stared at Camilo on the floor before picking him up laughing. Zane exited and stretched, making a loud cracking noise from his back, after everyone was out they each grabbed something from the boot, Camilo was given two 9mm, one as a backup or to give to someone, and the other for himself, Luros grabbed a revolver and stared at the place, she pondered and tried to remember something. Kyros grabbed a rifle and a knife, Zane grabbed two scimitars and sheathed them into the scabbards clipped into his belt. Alice grabbed two silver bras knuckles and slid them onto her fingers. Luros jogged over to the building ahead whilst the others walked over to the tents, she opened the door of the cabin slowly.
The door creaked loudly and she slowly, step by step, Walked into the cabin, there were shelves wiped of anything. "Good." She mumbled to herself and walked to the end of the room, and stomped her heel into the floor multiple times, and the sound was a hollow beat, she slammed her foot in one last time and a piece of wood smashed open.
"That's what I'm looking for." Luros said, Camilo peered around the corner, "How did you know I'm here?" Camilo asked. "It doesn't matter, but these do." Luros said reaching into the cracked wood, clacking metal pulled through and in her hand she held two crescent sickles with a red ribbon line grip, "Well Kyros told me to get you out of here so.. hurry up!" Camilo responded embarrassed.
The two left the building and Cane back to the others. "All the tents are completely empty, useful. But empty," Alice said disappointed. "Let's stay here for the time being, I'm fed up of being in that car." Zane announced. They nodded and continued to search
Afternoon
Alastor was sat down leaning against an old log. Camilo threw down some logs by Alastors legs. "You know how to make a fire I think." Camilo said and Alastor looked up at him, "Yeah. I'll do it now." Alastor responded, he started to set up the wood into a pile and Camilo walked away over to Zane, who was patrolling the area along with Luros who was across the site. Camilo noticed something, out of the ordinary looking. "Zane. What's that over there?" Camilo asked pointing in the direction. Zane squinted into the distance and saw what Camilo was seeing, it was a moving tray, then a hand reached onto it? It pulled a tripod off the tray with a hairdryer, a man with blue-ish Grey hair and was average height, turned the hair dryer on. The man was wearing a white shirt and a yellow holiday jacket with flower patterns all over it, "Guys! There's someone over there!" Zane shouted and The figure looked over by walking closer it the edge, he noticed them, he had grey, rolled up shorts on as well. Everyone ran over and Luros ran over to the path for the hill.
On the hill
Luros and Zane finally made it up the hill. It hadn't taken them long and The man sat there in a fishing chair. He glanced over at them with some sunglasses on, he spiked upwards and walked over to them with a nice kind of feel. He raised the sunglasses and put them on his head, stuck his hand out to Luros who was in front of Zane and said firmly. "I'm Elijah, wonderful to see you at the end of the world. Haha." Luros looked with a surprised smirk on her face and shook his hand, his hand was firm and he looked her in the eye. "Is he coming back with us?" Zane asked, "Yea, he.. I don't know, But he's coming back with us." Luros replied.
Back at the site.
Alastor, Kyros, and Alice sat by the fire staring into its deep and dry flames, it shined through in the daylight. Camilo ran over to them from a tent. "Guys, I think Zane will be back with the mysterious man in a minute, I saw them walking down the hill." Camilo said calmly. Alastor stood up slowly and walked over to where they set off from. Zane and Luros, followed by Elijah. Elijah's facial expression changed into a slightly more relieving expression as he saw how many there were of them, "And who's this?" Asked Alastor. "Elijah." Interrupted Elijah as Zane was about to speak. "Luros. Is he staying with us?" Camilo asked at Luros's side lightly poking her hand. "Maybe." Luros replied. "Hopefully." Elijah said in a correcting tone. Kyros looked Elijah up and down. "I suppose you have something to defend yourself with?" Kyros asked subtly, "Indeed I do mr man." Elijah said with confidence and spun a butterfly knife from his back, through his fingers and into his hands, flipped the blade into a 180 turn and gestured for Kyros to take it, he shook his head and pushed the handle to the side, "Well pack all of the stuff. I think there was a town by here." Kyros started, "Can we atleast stay the night!" Shouted Alice, interrupting. "for crying out loud we've been here for... however long I don't know!" She shouted angrily.
Later, evening
The sun had just hidden itself away from the sky and the light was no more. "So where was everyone before this? Or has the 'super edgy backstory phase' not begun yet," Elijah Said, chuckling after. "I'll go first I guess, but I'm not some edge lord like Luros, or maybe even Kyros." Alice began. "I was doing fine in college, or so I thought, my studies were doing fine and so was I.. my mental health was another story. My friends were mainly nerds in some random clubs I'm in and I used to just hang around online because I have nothing better to do than maths. And so when people started killing everyone else, I got my ramen stash and saw these people, they were Liam, Dean.. that ratty psychopath.. and Camilo. They picked me up, well. Dean wanted my Ramen so basically I tagged along with his search for the safe place, didn't last since well, they ditched me on a highway. And I was found by Luros and Kyros, I do not regret that." She explained. "So we have average teenage maths nerd that's above average, nice nice." Elijah replied. "Guess I will," Alastor mentioned. "I was a bank accountant who was engaged to... someone, that someone you all may or may not have known but I'll get to that. I was making a slightly larger amount of money and the usual of bills and taxes were horrible. Standard normal life stuff I hardly remember now. I don't want to either.. then I got ditched hanging off over a small ledge with thousands of the dead underneath me, Liam was the one who ditched me, he's also who I was engaged to." Alastor explained Elijah tilted his head and Alastor looked away as everyone glared in a small amount of shock glinting in their eyes. "Well I was a hippie, you all know that from what I look like.. i think, haha. I was going to large music festivals watching people smoke and leave as I stood around as everyone just did whatever, music was loud. Fairly average. I was usually alone at the festivals when it came to hanging out with people at the festivals, and I used my caravan for whatever I wanted to do and now. I'm stuck with everyone. Doing whatever I am." Zane explained within the small gap of Alastor's explanation. The area dropped silent, "I'll let Luros A.k.a queen edge go last, I'll say where I was before." Kyros started. Luros sighed, and took a deep breath. "I was looking for a job, with nothing to do and no where to go, my parents passed away not so long ago. so I inheritted a load of random stuff from that, and a fair sum of money too. I was planning on going to an office meeting with a friend and he was gonna help me. Well that.. isn't the best thing now people are eating people. Or things are eating people, oh whatever. I went to a museum for some backdrop to the meeting, flex a bit of knowledge and all that. The screams came from the back of the museum, strangely.. and then I did a few things and then.. I don't remember anything up to me waking up in the morning i think it was?" Kyros looked confused after elaborating. "And supposed Queen edge gets to talk now, even though I'm not edgy. It starts with me and my husband, recently married and planning to go away for the summer. It was dreamy, he was a nice man I had knew for a long time. Everything in my life was perfect, though i didn't have the best feeling about it. And then one day, when my husband came home from work, or I thought it was my husband. It was a man in a suit. He tole me My husband had been murdered from an assasination. I cried, cried, wept. Didn't even sleep. And eventually. It dawned on me. I walked on over to the dark corners of the city. And found a group of people some would refer to as a gang, a desolate one they were, but they were amazing to me. They soon gave me these," she put up her crescent sickles in a diagonal position. "Sickles. I became their assasin after a while and wanted so, so bad to avenge my husband. I never did, to this day I wonder. Who killed him? I don't know. But am I going to survive? Yes, and hopefully with all of you." Luros finished. Elijah lightly clapped, followed by everyone else, "Truly an edge lord." Elijah said, "Guys. The herd... it followed us." Alice began to the sound of groaning from the bushes, interrupting the moment of everyone sharing their stories. "My bags are packed, I'll be out in a minute!" Elijah shouted, Kyros kicked up his Trident into his hands. And he charged in followed by Luros, Alastor told Camilo to stay back and go to the car. Luros decapitated reanimated two by two and Kyros was impaling them to death, jabbing and slashing at reanimated uncontrollably. Elijah ran with two massive bags and threw them into the car boot. "Come on!" Shouted Zane, Kyros impaled a reanimated one last time and left the crowd followed by Luros, they ran to the car, "There's no space inside the car!" Kyros shouted, he let Luros into the car and stood outside, then he saw.
