i walk to the changing rooms and see all the boys putting their boots on in their england kits.
"hey y/n, where's phil? you're always together." dec asks
"i don't know." i reply
"is everything okay?" marcus asks me
"oh yeah, everything's fine." i say putting on a fake smile
"what's the time?" harry asks me
"11:49." i tell him
"11 minutes lads." jordan says
there's a knock on the door and gareth and phil enter.
"y/n, just the person i was looking for. can you come out here please?" he asks
i let phil in before i exit, i walk out of the changing rooms and shut the door behind me.
"i spoke to him, i know what happened. he feels terrible about the whole situation." gareth says
"i can't talk to him gareth, i'm really sorry if i'm jeopardizing the team but i can't." i say almost breaking into tears
"no no, we talked and he's going to be a substitute. you don't need to do any talking." he tells me as my shoulders relax.
"thank you." i reply
"would you mind going out now?" he asks me
"not at all, i just sit on the bench right?" i ask
"perfect." gareth replies as i walk off
i exit out of the tunnel and see the stadium was completely full now, i walk past all of the camera crew behind the goals and over to the sub bench. i sit down at the end and put one leg over the other and lean back.
suddenly i hear the commentator announce englands opposition as the team walk out in their tracksuit onto the pitch in a single file line. then they announce england, i see a lot of familiar faces. in the corner of my eye i see the subs walking over my way, jack sits next to me.
"alright sis?" he asks me as i nod,"ya sure?" he asks again
the national anthems come on which shuts him up, most of the fans were english so everyone around me starts singing and i join in.
the two captains did the coin toss and harry lost so the other team started with the ball.
"y/n i'm your brother, what happened?" jack asks me putting his arm round my shoulder
i look behind me slightly and see phil only three people away.
"it's nothing, i'm fine." i say
"you're not but if you aren't gonna tell me i'll stop asking i guess." jack says looking back onto the pitch
half an hour passes and half time was approaching, there had been no goals so far. england do hold possession but it is very close.
when half time does approach the boys walk off the pitch and back inside, we all follow.
everyone had a water bottle in their hand and gareth and the coaches were talking to them all.
