Alexis's pov
As we pulled up the gate I realized the guard wasn't in the booth
"Where's Allen? Or is it Ricky?" Allen and Ricky were usually the day guards there's one more that works only at night but he comes in around 11 and leaves 6ish I don't come home that late normally and we leave for work around 7 so I've never really spoken to him
"We got here earlier than I expected so he'll be about another hour" he pulled a small remote from the arm rest and opened the gate closing it as soon as the car made the clearance he suddenly stopped in the middle of the driveway
"What?" I asked looking around
"One of the cameras... it's turned" he parked he looked at me then made a quick scan of the yard he opened his door "stay here lock the doors" he stepped out I listened locking the doors he pulled his phone out starting to walk away from the car
I sat back in my seat I looked at the house trying to figure out what camera he meant
He had this thing about his cameras, some were blatantly obvious while others were hidden blending in seamlessly so you'd never find them
I looked at the ones I knew about
it was the last camera on the front of the houses all the way to the right the one that videoed the gate area it was turned to face the garage
He's so good at spotting cameras... it's like he's got this weird 6th sense
I saw Harry walking back no longer on his phone I unlocked the door as he reached for his door handle "is everything okay?" I asked softly
He didn't answer he pulled up and parked "everything is staying in the car we're going to go in, we're going straight to my bedroom until I have the guard check the house and my security go over the video feed"
"Y-you didn't get a notification that someone was in the yard?" Usually when he left the house he armed it- even if I was still home
I know the code but it still sent him a notification about where I was passing through
"No" he said sharply
"Well it could have been an animal"
He sighed "Baby why would a raccoon or anything else come into the yard? There's nothing I have that it would want"
I shrugged "maybe it was just wondering?"
He shook his head and got out he walked around and opened my door for me he put me behind him as he unlocked the door he shut it behind us only locking one of his locks he kept me behind him as he stepped into his bedroom closing the door only put using one lock
He put me so my back was in one of the corners "stay here" he walked into the bathroom after about a minute he stepped out and walked to the closet
I fiddled with my fingers
I wanted help him look but I know how he is about safety and if I left this corner without his express permission that would be my a*s
He came back out and went to the windows checking them he then got down and peeked under the bed he stood opening his nightstand drawer he slammed it and looked at me "I don't think anyone was in here" he made a come here motion so I timidly took a step forward
I sat on our bed "I'm going to check the rest of the house lock the door behind me"
I grabbed him as he turned away from me "Harry?"
"Yes?" He asked pausing looking down at me
"Do you think someone managed to get inside?"
He shook his head "No, they attempted but couldn't"
"How do you know?"
"The power box lock was cut but they didn't realize that there would be a passcode on the door to the actual unit"
There was really someone trying to get in
"So they tried to cut off the power?" I asked making sure I understood what was happening
"Yes that would cut the cameras for at least 2 or 3 minutes until my back up generator started"
"Oh you have a back up generator?" That was a slight relief
He nodded "it's behind the shed with all the gardening stuff" he leaned down and kiss my head "don't worry Baby you're alright" he cooed petting my hair "it was probably just a petty thief"
If he wasn't worried then I wouldn't be
I trust him to keep me safe "okay" he gave me one more forehead kiss
"I'll be back in a second don't forget to-"
"Lock the bedroom door" I finished for him
He nodded "good girl" he left the room and I locked the door behind him
I sat back on the bed and put a hand over my stomach "we're okay baby daddy has this under control" I said softly so just me and the baby could hear
Now that I'm sort of starting to show I started talking to the baby when I was alone just to acknowledge them, let them know mama is here
I won't be able to hide much longer though... I'll have to think of a way to tell him pretty soon
I let out a deep sigh and fell back in the bed "I know it was stupid not to tell him right then and there dumplin' but you should have heard him- well no I'm glad you didn't actually you didn't need to hear that" I then laughed "not like you'd remember any of that anyway but still"
I glanced at the camera in our room "maybe he'll find out because he'll see me talking to you" I said and rubbed my stomach "that wouldn't be so bad"
"Darling!" I jumped and closed my eyes putting a hand over my heart as Harry knocked in the bedroom door
I got up and walked over "Christ you scared the shit out of me" I said as I opened the door he stepped in and locked all the locks this time
"Sorry my love, the guard is here and he's going to take over the search"
"Okay anything back from security?"
"No Baby they probably won't be able to get back to me about that for at least 3 or 4 days because they've got a weeks full of video to look over"
"Right I didn't think about that... you didn't get a notification so there's no time stamp for them to go look at" I mumbled
"There's so reason to be anxious dear you're okay"
"I'm okay" I nodded
He frowned "you're very tense my love"
I frowned and dropped my shoulders he was right I was standing very rigid, my eyebrows were furrowed, and I was frowning I must look very worried
"Why don't you lay down and I'll give you a massage? Mm would that calm you down?"
"yes please" I whined
that sounded amazing
"Good go lay down shirt off let me go get some oil or lotion"
I pulled off my shirt tossing it on the end of the bed I laid down in the bed the cologne from his pillow filled my nose I closed my eyes and tried to decompress a little
Everything is totally fine
no one is here
I am safe
I felt the bed dip as Harry crawled on "it's been awhile since I last gave you a massage Baby" he commented
"its long over due" I laughed
He chuckled back "you're right what kind of boyfriend am I?" I whimpered softly as his warm hands worked sweet vanilla scented lotion into my shoulders
"Massage first then I'll let you know"
