Walking down the pier

Hand in hand with her

My free hand holding my vanilla cone

We're far from the beach

But this lake will have to do

The sun beats down on us

Threatening to melt our treats

And burn our pale skin

She and I don't mind

We have each other

And the lake waits for us

People stare at us

I don't know if it's our revealing clothes

Or because we're two girls

Hand in hand

And don't mind being as close as we are

Out in the public

Who cares anyways

We can't hide

Forever

Not in a town

Where everyone is as judgmental as they are

So I'll walk down the pier

Hand in hand with her
