———

I've been watching this group of people for a few days now. They seem tightly wound and were struggling until they found this prison which I've sorta camped outside of the past night. They have this.. dog. He seemed to have spot me last night and did not seem welcoming in the slightest. Not that it concerned me really, especially since most dogs are dull-minded and are unable to get across what they're barking about.

The group of people, with the addition of that dog, were able to fight their ways into the prison. Killing the undead more efficiently and effectively than any other group I've met so far, which is few. They're impressive.

I lick my mouth of any blood that remained from my previous meal when I see the dog and a man at one of the entrances to the prison. The man seemed angry and the dog seemed.. well, guilty. I couldn't help but frown and feel some sympathy towards the dog. 'Guilt is a monster that loves to feed on the mind,' I hear the memory of my mother's voice. Oh how I missed her. Especially during these times.

The man slams the door shut, leaving the dog out in the courtyard. It takes the dog a minute before he starts along the fence to find and opening in it. The sun must be eating him alive. I think while staring at his black coat. And that gravel must be no fun either.

The dog doesn't lose stride as he finds a way through the fence and the other, making his way out into the field. They trot their way over to the shade of one of the towers, before plopping down in the grass.

Though not long after that, the dog walks out of the shade and plops their ass down along the fence. Specifically at the spot where he'd seen me. What? Do they think I'm just gonna be in the same spot I was originally spotted?

Apparently they did think that because hours passed and that damn dog was still staring at the same bush. Occasionally he'd look away and towards the water on my side of the fence, or would look at a rustle in the bush which was usually some small animal. But for the most part they were focused on the bush I'd been the night prior to making eye contact with the brown-eyed dog.

As time passed he seemed to glance over at the water more and more. Must be thirsty as all hell. I was quite right when moments after he started to dig a hole under the fence. Damn, dogs.

I watch as dirt and roots are thrown everywhere behind the rather large dog. I frown, feeling that the dog is just like any other dog. Stupid. Isn't that gonna create a breach in their security..? I think with a deadpan expression.

Though I am surprised when the big dog is able to fit through the tiniest of holes. From here I can see the fence dig into the back of the dog, no doubt pulling at their fur. I can't tell if they're choosing to do that to keep the security still tight or just out of pure hastiness. Either way, the thought and sight has me cringing. That's gotta have hurt.

The dog doesn't seem to show pain when they make it to my side of the fence, rather they show the opposite. The dog starts to prance and hop around, celebrating their small little victory with a wide grin. What an idiot..

The scene almost has me smile, but I restrain myself and just continue to watch. Watch.. as.. the dog nose dives into the pond by what looks like a complete accident. Hope you can swim then, doggie.

I wait for the dog to resurface with that stupid lil grin they had but after a long minute passes and only bubbles are seen surfacing the water, I become worried. Should've come back up by now..

The bubbles stop and I'm met by an eerie and long silence. My heart beat quickens some out of worry, and my toe clench like they do while stalking prey before my eyes. But rather than prey, it's the dog I'd been looking after. So after another minute passes, I'm sprinting over to the pond where I'd last seen bubbles. Stupid, dog!

I wait by the shoreline, looking for the black coat of the dog but see nothing. I gulp down a lump in my throat before mentally bracing myself for what I'm about to do. I was meant to keep my distance from them for a little longer but I this dog is my ticket in. So without further to do, I'm jumping in after the dog.

The cold water encases my body like a coffin, the only air being what's in my lungs and the bubbles around me that are running up to the surface. Once the bubbles clear, I'm met with another eerie calm that almost makes me question if I was too late. But when I look down a bit further into the pond, I'm able to see the dog struggling like their life depended on it. My eyebrows furrowed, realizing that they were panicking, and panicking badly.

When I see the last bit of air leaves their throat, I swim over as fast as I can. My thick fur feels like it weighs me down through the murky water, but with my strong body I am able to push through it. My blood courses through my veins quickly with adrenaline and some of my own panic. I can't let this dog die. I can't let anyone else die!

As soon as I'm close enough to the black dog, with my jaws I latch onto his (?) scruff and start to pull him towards the surface. His eyes are closed, making me think that I had hesitated for far too long. We breach the surface and I paddle us to shore. My fur sticks flatly against skin and I'm sure his is the same if he can even feel it.

My attention immediately goes back to the him of a dog. Using the logic skills I have, I conclude that if there is water in his lungs then it'd be best to try and push that out so he can breathe. With that thought, my next course of action is to use my two paws and put my weight on his side to try and push that water out and I'm surprisingly successful with only one push. Water gushes from his mouth and his sharp canines are left ind display for me.

I sigh out and close my eyes for a beat. Now to drag your dead weight.

Seven's POV

I wake up to the owls hooting and the crickets chirping. The air is cold and when I open my eyes it takes me a minute to get my bearings. I'm in some sort of.. cave? It's too small to really be considered one but there's a bit of walking room in here.

I slowly look around from where I lay until I notice something white out of the corner of my eyes move. "So, you're finally awake," I hear from the white.. wolf (?) across from me. My eyes feel like their blown out of their sockets at the voice and sight of another being that isn't human or food.

I spring up from where I lay, standing with a defensive stance. My fur is standing on end and  I try to appear bigger to the wolf-ish looking being. "Where the hell am I?" I ask, anger in my voice. How far away am I from my group?? And why has this douche bag wolf brought me to his den?

The wolf seems to have a calm expression, "Sit down. I'll tell you everything in a moment. Just take a minute to calm down, I won't hurt you unless you try to hurt me." He says in that stupidly calm voice. I frown at him with narrowed eyes, briefly wondering the odds of finding the way back on my own but not necessarily wanting to risk it.

So reluctantly, I sit down. "Good, now, this is my den you're in. What's your name? I'm Milo," He says with a small smile.

With a jutted out lower lip, I stubbornly reply in a mumbled tone, "Seven." I glance away, almost childishly but I didn't care. I have no other choice but to comply with this guy so I may as well have a tantrum, right?

"What was that? Seven? Seven what?" He asks, more than likely I was simply just saying the number rather than my name.

With an annoyed flick of my ear, I stare at him with a deep-set frown, "My name is, Seven." I stand up again, not being able to sit still for very long. I just wanted to get back to Daryl and be done with this Milo.

With an annoying to look at smile, he happily chirps out, "Well, it's nice to meet you Seven. I hope we get along!" His tone was far too enthusiastic for me, especially with the terrible mood I was in.

I narrow my eyes at him once I realize what he was implying, "Get along? What do you mean 'get along'? After this we won't be seeing each other again." I take notice of his very familiar eyes. "Wait a second.. you were the one spying on my group and I," I say, already feeling the anger begin to rise. My teeth unknowingly bare some while I spit out the words.

Milo has a sheepish smile on his face as he with that same happy expression goes, "Oops?"

I can already tell he's gonna be a handful to have around.

A double update that I was indeed bullied into doing.
