A Moth Against a Street Lamp

By liviC44

I'm a moth

Battering itself

Against some street lamp

The kind

And your flickering state

And me

And my broken wings

And bruised body

Your light

And I had to come to terms

That you weren't the moon

Or the stars

Not a heavenly body

But some street lamp

That's worth dirt

I was broken

Just like you

I had to fly away

But my wings didn't want to beat

When there's no more light

To fly towards
