I had decided it was time to go back to school and Mrs and Mr Goth agreed. I walked through the school door for the first time in a while but lucky for me Josh was there walking in with me, every time you are out of school for a while you always think everyone's head is going to turn towards you and all eyes are on you but it's all in your head and no one noticed apart from your friends but I'm apart of the Goth family so it did happen and no just the eyes on me but the quick turn away and whisper about what you heard about why I was gone for so long. I just blanked everyone but Josh out while we walked and went to sit down at a table. We were talking away happily.
"Lily !" I heard someone shout which made me and Josh looked up only to see Tucker with his arms out wide like he wanted a hug and a big smile on his face.
"Hi" I mumbled back not sure why he is acting like that. I looked at Josh confused but he just shrugged while Tucker decided to sit down and make himself comfortable
"Did you miss me? like I missed you ?" He asked
"No ?" I spoke which came out more like a question than a statement
"You just broke my heart, lily" Tucker put his hand on his chest making it look like his heart hurt, all I could do was shake my head at him.
"Well I brought you something, I found it over on the wall over there" He pointed to the info board on the wall then he put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to me.
I looked at Josh who looked as confused as I did then I looked at the piece of paper, I wasn't sure if I should take it or not.
"It's not going to bite" He chuckled lightly
"The paper isn't what I'm worried about," I told him
"I only bite when I'm asked" He smirked I rolled my eyes and then snatched the piece of paper off him which made him chuckle.
I opened the piece of paper, it was a flyer asking for people to write a play for this year's Christmas play, normally they pick a random play but this year they decided to let students write their own play and enter the compaction and whoever wins the school will do their play and they get to direct it.
"I think you'll be perfect for it, lily" Tucker smiled while I handed the flyer to Josh so he would read over it as well.
"He's right lily, you should enter" Josh agreed with Tucker
"I don't know ...." I spoke while biting my bottom lip nervously
After that the day was a blur, my mind was all about the compaction and if I should enter it. I was sitting in my bedroom looking at the flyer. I stood up and walked out my bedroom door with the flyer in my hand I walked down the stairs and into the dining room, I folded the flyer and put it in my pocket before I looked up at everyone sitting at the dinner table waiting for dinner to come out so I sat in between Spider and wolfy. Keegan and Slade were sitting on either side of Carrie, and the food started to come out and was placed in front of us.
"How was your first day back at school lily ?" Mr Goth asked
"It was... It was ok, I don't remember everything" I nodded
"Why not ?" Mrs Goth asked
"Tucker gave me this" I spoke, I pulled the flyer out of my pocket "The school is having a competition this year for the schools Christmas play, we get to write it and the winner gets to direct their play but I'm not sure if I should enter it or not"
"Why wouldn't you enter?" Mr Goth asked
"I'm sure a lot of people will enter it and I don't think my writing is good enough nit yet, maybe next time" I spoke not sure about myself
"Lily, your writing is amazing, you should have more confidants in yourself, I and your dad will be the first ones to buy tickets to your play" Mrs Goth smiled
"I think you should enter, you have nothing to lose because I know you will win" Mr Goth smiled
I thought about it for a while then nodded my head "I'll enter"
Everyone was happy to hear about me entering the compaction so we ate dinner while talking about what everyone was doing today then after dinner, I grabbed some cans of irn bru then walked up to my bedroom, opened my bedroom door then closed it behind me, I walked over to my desk and put the car's down then I sat down on my chair then put my notebook on my desk open then grabbed my pencil, I started tapping on my book trying to work out what I should write about I know it has something to do with Christmas but I'm not sure what. I kept tapping my pencil, I much of done this for twenty minutes before there was a knock at the door. I got up off the chair and walked over to the door and opened it, Spider was standing there with a plate of cookies.
"Can I come in ?" He asked
I opened the door wider and stood to the side to let Spider walk in he put the plate down on the desk, and I closed the door while Spider sat down on my bed at the bottom edge. After I closed the door I walked over to my desk chair again and sat down on it.
"How's your writing coming along?" He asked
I shook my head "It's not" I sighed
"Do you have any idea? even just a small idea" He asked
"An orphan" I spoke
"Boy or girl?" He asked
"Boy" I spoke
"Does he have a name?" He asked
I thought about it ... what if the orphan was St Nicholas ?" I asked him
"That would make sense, Santa was an orphan so he bring happiness to everyone but how does it come to that ?" He asked
"What if he started by making up games to cheer up the other kids then when he was a teen he learned how to carve things out of wood so he started carving figures and toys, he gave them to the kids on the 25th of December then he started making hot chocolate and even gave them out for free not just for the orphans but for the other family's and kids on the village, he then starts giving the toys out on 25th of December, he would seek out at night band on midnight and left the toys outside for the other kids in the village then he out the orphan kid's toys at the end of their bed before claiming back into bed" I spoke
"That sounds good" He nodded his head "But how will he get to the north pole?"
"What if the word started to spread from one village to the next and then all around the world until it got to the north pole, the elves heard about it and send an elf to see who was doing this so the elf went back and told the other elf about him so they went to ask him why he did it and when he gave them the answer they asked him if he would go with them to the north pole with them and if he brought happiness to the elf's then they would help him make the toys and help him make sure all the children had a gift on the 25th," I told him
"I like it but what did he say to the elves?" Spider asked me
"He said he does it because everyone should have a bit of happiness no matter if they are rich or poor," I told him
"And what does he get out of it?" Spider asked
"A warm heart, the happier everyone got the happier he got," I told him
"I like it" Spider smiled
"Thanks, can I tell you something ?" I asked
"Of course" He nodded
"I kind of want to win but kind of don't," I told him
"Why wouldn't you want to win?" He asked
"Then I have to direct it and I'm worried no one will listen to me" I bite my bottom lip nervously
"Then what if I help ?" He asked
"Really !" I asked surprised
"Of course, I will be your assistant" He smiled
"Waw thank you so much, Spider" I jumped off my desk chair and hugged him which made him hug me back. After I hugged him I sat back on my chair
"Well I better leave you to work," He told me
"Thank you for helping me spider" I smiled at him
"Anytime" He smiled then walked to the door and walked out so I turned to my paper and pencil and started working on the play while eating the cookies and drinking the drink. It took about six attempts to write it and three days to make it exactly the way I wanted it then I managed to hand it in.
