Who even likes bleachers

They're cold

Uncomfortable

Whatever metal they're made of

And the grooves in it

Just makes me want to scream

Hours upon hours of my life

Wasted because I had to sit on the bleachers

Why couldn't I

Have had

A best friend

Or even

A boyfriend

I'd even have taken a

Girlfriend

Someone

I loved

Dearly

To make all that time on the bleachers

Worthwhile

Why couldn't

It be like the movies

My crush seeing me sitting there

And whisking me away

From whatever football game was going on

I don't even like

Football

Or sports

For that matter

Why did I spend

So much time on bleachers

Just waiting for something to happen

I knew wouldn't

Because

I wasn't a main character

In a coming of age teen movie

Nothing special

Like that

Ever happened

In that town

At that school
