There's probably

Half a dozen signs

Posted around the park

Saying that it closes at dusk

Doesn't stop us

Or them

Who's going to kick us out anyway

It's just a park

On public property

No one's here to tell us or them to leave

Just because a few signs said so

Those two who were also here

Were the cutest couple

Holding hands

And swinging on the swingset

I wanted us to be like them

Swinging on the swingset as the sun went down

We walked around the park

Balancing on the wooden beams that kept the wood chips in

Sitting atop of things we probably shouldn't be

Being at the park

After dusk

Made it all the more fun

The risk of being caught

Despite knowing we'd never be

Made it all the more fun

Why don't we

Go back to the swingset

Sometime after dark?
