Elphie Returns

A Trap!

They pried the door open to find...
"It's empty!" Elphaba exclaimed.
"Where is she?" Boq yelled. "Glinda! Glinda!"
"Look!" Elphaba shouted. "Under this board!"
She pried it open and threw it to the side.
A small blonde woman was crowded in the bottom, lightheaded from the bumpy movement of the carriage.
Elphaba slowly reached out her arms and gathered her friend up. Carefully, she lifted Glinda out and set her on the ground.
That's when she heard the clicking.
She looked back, and yelled, "It's a trap!"
But it was too late. The carriage exploded, knocking Elphaba off her feet and making her unconscious.
Glinda, half awake half asleep, threw herself on top of Elphaba as best as she could.
The next thing she knew her ear was ringing.
