After spending her time tearing into the necks of just about anyone that she saw, Annabelle sped into the mansion that she and her siblings lived in and was headed towards where the bathroom was in order to rinse the blood off of her, only to stop when she saw that someone was crouched on the floor inside of one of the rooms.
She immediately stopped moving and tilted her head before she slowly turned around and walked towards that one particular room.
Once she was standing outside of the room, she looked into the room and saw that Klaus was crouched on the floor with his arms wrapped around his legs and his head resting on the top of his legs.
After tilting her head some more, she started to take a couple of steps into the room, only to stop when Klaus had said to her, "No. I need more time. Just give me more time."
After scoffing to herself, she asked, "More time for what? To let the world know that you've finally managed to drive yourself even more mad than you usually are?"
Klaus quickly looked up at her and stared at her with narrowed eyes as he said, "Stop playing games with me. I know why you're here, Silas."
After she had blankly stared at him, she asked, "Silas? What the bloody hell makes you think that I'd be him?"
Klaus replied, "Why wouldn't I? You've already come in here and made me think you were Caroline." When Annabelle didn't respond to his words, he said to her, "You told me yourself that you could make yourself look like anyone I want."
After she scoffed to herself, she said, "Right. And tell me this, Klaus. Why the bloody hell would Silas make you want to see me?" When Klaus's eyebrows had furrowed, she told him, "I mean, I'm the very same person who's done nothing but give you grief for almost a thousand years. Why would he go out of his way to make himself look like someone who's done nothing but fight you for almost a thousand years?"
Just as Klaus was about to respond, he suddenly stopped when he heard Caroline say from outside the room, "I got your fifty bajillion messages. This better be life and death."
With a sigh, Annabelle rolled her eyes to herself, while Klaus said to Caroline, "Go away."
As her footsteps started to become louder, Caroline asked, "Klaus? Where are you?"
As soon as Caroline had stopped outside of one room and saw the two siblings– one of whom had her arms crossed over her chest as she occasionally rolled her eyes to herself and the other who was now sitting on the floor in nearly the same position that Annabelle had found him in– she asked, "What happened to you?"
As he scratched at his arm, Klaus said, "I need more time. Stop hounding me!"
With a raise of her eyebrows, Caroline took a couple of more steps into the room as she replied, "I'm hounding you? I am supposed to be running three different prom committees right now and you keep phone stalking me."
As he stared up at her, Klaus said, "Caroline. Is it really you?" When Caroline raised her eyebrows once more and gave a bit of a nod of her head, Klaus slowly forced himself to stand up before he sat down on the closest piece of furniture and said to her, "Prove it to me."
Caroline said to him, "Okay. I don't know if this is some new way of flirting, but it sucks. And I have more important things to do."
While Annabelle simply chuckled to herself as she watched Caroline start to leave the room, Klaus said to her, "Wait, please. Silas. He stabbed me with the white oak stake. There's a little piece of it stuck inside me."
After she turned around to face him again, Caroline asked him, "Why would Silas attack you?"
While Annabelle said 'why, indeed', Klaus told Caroline, "Well, I was in no position to ask questions. Suffice it to say, I'm hurt. So you can understand why I called you."
After scoffing to herself, Caroline said, "Okay, but that doesn't explain why the hell Annabelle is here and not helping you. I mean, she's your sister. Shouldn't she be the one helping you, instead of me?"
Just as Klaus was about to respond, Annabelle said to him, "Oh, don't worry, my darling brother. I can answer this one for you." Then she turned to Caroline and told her, "I originally came here so that I could wash this blood off of myself. I can assure you, Caroline, that it was not my intention to come here and find out that apparently Silas– the very immortal being that you all had awakened after Kol had explicitly warned you not to before he was murdered– has been tormenting my pain in the ass of a brother. So, I think you can understand just how amused I am by the mere fact that my own brother is being tormented and tortured by the very immortal being that you were all told not to awaken."
In response to Annabelle's words, Caroline did nothing but eye the amused Original before she turned to look over at Klaus, who was still staring up at her in the same manner that he was prior to Annabelle talking.
After staring at him for a couple of seconds, Caroline chuckled to herself before she asked him, "You ran Tyler out of town, you killed his mother, and you think I'm the person to call for help?"
Klaus replied, "If I die, you, Tyler, all of your friends die with me."
While Annabelle only chuckled to herself once more, Caroline forced herself to walk over to Klaus before she asked him, "What do you want me to do?"
Klaus told her, "Well, it's quite simple, really. I need you to cut the stake out of me."
While Caroline stared at the bloodied pliers that were lying on the floor, Annabelle chuckled to herself as she shook her head and crossed her arms over her own chest before she decided to sit down on the floor and watch the inevitable show that would take place soon enough.
* * *
With a smirk on her face, Annabelle watched as Caroline used the very same pliers that were once on the floor in order to find the apparent white oak stake that was shoved and broken off into Klaus's back.
After watching how Klaus had constantly tormented others over the centuries, Annabelle couldn't help but feel completely and utterly amused just from seeing how much pain he currently was put in, while Caroline searched for the broken off part of the white oak stake.
It was this reason alone that she decided to not just leave and let Caroline do this on her own.
For all Annabelle knew, she would never get to witness her elder half-brother being put in pain ever again, so she needed to take advantage of watching this with her very own eyes– especially after all of the times that he'd daggered her for countless centuries after she and her siblings were first daggered by the Five.
Just as Annabelle had started to chuckle to herself once more, Caroline said to herself, "Oh, my God. You do have a heart." Once Caroline had dug the pliers a little deeper and Klaus had let out a groan, Caroline said, "Oh, my bad. It's just a bloody rib."
Klaus said to her, "Well, I'm glad you're finding my misery so amusing."
While Annabelle simply shook her head to herself, Caroline said, "I swear there's nothing in here." Then she said to Klaus, "And if you think I'm having fun, you're insane."
Klaus replied, "You killed twelve witches for your friend Bonnie. You can't even get your hands a little dirty for me. Here I thought we were becoming friends."
Caroline said to him, "Well, you thought wrong."
Once Caroline had started to move the pliers again, Klaus let out a yell before he slammed his hand down three times, while Caroline said to him, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." After a couple seconds of silence, Caroline said, "You know what?"
Once Caroline had ripped the pliers out of Klaus's back and Klaus had let out a yell, Caroline told him, "I'm not sorry. You deserve to suffer for everything that you've done. So today, we're gonna do things my way. You want my help? You let Tyler come back to town and give me your word that you will not hurt him." After a couple seconds of silence, she said, "And the same goes for Annabelle. If either of you so much as hurt him or even plan on hurting him, then the deal is off. You got it?"
Instead of immediately responding to her words, Klaus looked past Caroline and over at Annabelle, who was now staring at Caroline with narrowed eyes and her veins on display, before he looked back at Caroline and only stared at her.
* * *
Despite how annoyed she was with Caroline demanding that Annabelle didn't go after Tyler the second that he would step foot into town, Annabelle couldn't help but chuckle to herself as she watched Klaus continue to scratch at his own back in an attempt to get the stake out of his back.
While Annabelle chuckled to herself and Caroline simply typed away on her phone, Klaus said after he let out a groan, "I can feel the splinters moving towards my heart. Help me!"
Caroline replied, "Your word first."
Klaus asked her, "And what makes you think I won't simply break my word?"
After she turned to look at him, Caroline asked with raised eyebrows, "You want to be friends? Friendship– stage one. Show me that I can trust you."
Klaus told her, "I saved your life... twice."
Caroline replied, "Because you put it in danger... twice. Why can't you just do something decent for once?
While Annabelle said 'maybe because he's not a decent person', Klaus told Caroline, "Because Tyler Lockwood tried to kill me."
As she stood up from the couch, Caroline replied, "We've all tried to kill you. And you've tried to kill most of us. How do you think that you deserve my friendship when you've done nothing to earn it?"
After he quickly stood up from the couch and walked towards her, Klaus yelled, "I will not have my hand forced by you or anyone else!"
Caroline asked him, "What is wrong with you? I'm reaching out to you despite everything that you have done, and you still can't get out of your own way. God! I feel sorry for you."
Once Caroline had started to turn her back on Klaus, Klaus sped right back in front of her and yelled, "Don't turn your back on me!"
Caroline replied, "I should have turned my back on you ages ago!"
After a couple seconds of silence, Klaus said, "It's gone."
With furrowed eyebrows, Caroline said, "What?"
Klaus told her, "The pain. The-The pain is gone." After he sighed to himself, he said, "Oh, see, it was never there. He got in my head. Silas... got inside my head."
After he grabbed her hands, Klaus said to Caroline, "You took my mind off it. You brought me back, Caroline."
After she turned her back on him, Caroline turned to look back at Klaus with a sigh as she asked him, "If Silas can make you, of all people, believe that you're dying... what can he do to the rest of us?"
After sighing to herself and raising her own eyebrows, Annabelle said, "Well, as much fun as it was watching you torture yourself like this, I'm going to go. I'll see you around, Nik."
Without so much as saying another word, Annabelle was gone.
