"SURPRISE!" Everyone screamed as I walked in the door.
I jumped at the loud noise when Tiffany and I walked in. I looked at Tiffany, she was smiling from ear to ear. Her smile was so contagious I couldn't hold back my own smile. Everything was overwhelming in a positive way and it made my heart warm knowing these people love me and would celebrate me as a person. Even after all the shitty things I've done.
"Happy birthday baby!" Kaylee said to me after she kissed me. "I hope today we can make you happy; even if it is just for a little while. Her hand wrapped around my next as our kissed became more intense. My hands started to slither around her waist, but it didn't last long. "Okay! Lets start the festive" I heard Janet yell and walking off towards the dining room. Everyone in the room laughed at our moment. Kaylee and I looked a bit embarrassed. Before moving Kaylee held on to me for a bit longer before we started to walk.
"Don't worry this makes me so happy. I'm just happy I can celebrate my birthday with you" I said while we walked to all go sit at the dining table.
"So what's the plan for today?" I asked everyone.
"Well, I was thinking we watch some home videos of you and Addison. Then we cut the cake and play any type of games you want to play and after all of that everyone can give out their gifts to you. Then you can run free" Janet said before presenting a big smile.
"oh no" I said in embarrassment. Those home videos are going to be the talk of next two weeks.
"Ha, I can't wait to see this and take tons of pictures just in case I need to blackmail you for something," Tiffany said as she smiles mischievously, Making sure her camera is ready.
"I swear to god Tiff I will kill you" I sternly say pointing at her. All Tiffany did was raise her eyebrow and smirk and then walk away with her phone in hand heading right toward the couch.
"Everyone go find a spot in the living room while I get the home videos ready," Janet said.
I rushed to secure my favorite spot on the couch which was the spot with the armrest. I had Kaylee sit in my lap and everyone else bunched up on the couch. Addison was sitting on Tiff's lap and Adam and Amy were sitting side by side wrapped up in a blanket.
"Ok so this is the first video that Chloe has ever popped up on. It was Addison's birthday party she had in first grade," Janet said in excitement.
"Oh! I remember this we had a fight during playtime outside and later that evening before our parents picked us up Chloe came back and apologized" Addison explained, with a grin on her face. You could see it in her eyes, it was almost like it was yesterday when it happened.
"Oh yeah, I wanted to play with you and you didn't so I started playing with your toys anyway" I laughed thinking of our little fight as kids. "You pushed me so I kicked you and we began to wrestle right in the middle of the playground like a WWE match." I said while looking at Addison.
"Who won?" Tiffany and Kaylee asked at the same time. Both Tiffany and I laughed before one of us could get a word out.
"Believe it or not guys they both went home with cuts and scratches on their face, arms and legs. Those two together could really cause damage to someone if they needed to fight. It was an even match" Janet said as she looked at both me and Addison with love in her eyes.
Everyone in the living room were quiet and in shock of what Janet just told them. I guess they didn't expect me or maybe Addison to win that fight. I guess we'll never know.
"Oh my god we are going to look horrible" Addison said in disgust. I laughed at her comment.
"is that what you've been thinking about this whole time while they were talking" I asked as i had a little smirk on my face. "ha, YES!" she said.
" I bet the both of you look adorable at that age. what you two need to worry about is how you guys were looking when you two got into middle school and freshmen year of high school". Kaylee said as she smirked.
There was a knock at the door and everyone was staring at Janet. "Who else was supposed to come?". Adam asked.
"I'm not sure" Janet said in an uncertain tone. She got up and walked towards the door and looked through the peep.
"Mom who is it?" Adam asked.
"yeah do we need to rough someone up," Addison said Balling her hand into a fist and cracking them both Adam and Addison were standing while the door slowly opened.
"I don't think that would be a good choice Addison" Addison, Kaylee and I both looked at each other in confusion. We all knew what one another was thinking; that voice sound oddly familiar.
As the shadow became smaller we could see black long hair appear in front of Janet.
"Am I welcomed or should I go?" the familiar voice said.
" No Violet stay, my kids will have to get to know you at some point so why not at this birthday party" I hear Janet say in a sweet tone.
Addison and Adam both sat back down once they realized who was at the door. "Oh man, Imagine if we really roughed her up" Adam whispered to us, laughing at his own joke.
"I don't think I would be able to move on to the next grade because I beat up our principal" Addison said as she laughed at the thought of not moving on to the next grade because she beat up the principal. As she continued to think about it her smile fell and it became worried. Everyone in the living room busted out laughing at Addison and her active imagination.
"Why am I hearing that one of my children won't be going on to their senior year?" Janet said in a concerned tone. Once Janet was in sight her face said everything.

It was funny to think that Janet actually thought Addison would be in a situation like that, knowing Addison is somewhere at the top of her class and somehow I am right behind her. As fucked up as i am I will never understand how I always did better than the kid who studied every day and night for their classes or even the ones that skip and sometimes show up late. You'd think the kid who is a drug addict and with many other unfortunate circumstances would be the one who is failing and being held back a grade but some how I was the lucky one.
"No, mom we were joking about something we said " Addison said quickly to save her ass from getting beat. We all haven't been in that kind of trouble for years. Of course, I am the exception because all the things I've done these past couple of months were not punishment worthy.

"Principle Violet!" I yelled, just so I could help get some heat off Addison. " How are you, we weren't expecting any homework drop-offs." Miss Violet's face started to turn extremely red, almost a crimson red. She didn't respond, all she did was look at Janet.
"Guys, I'm sure you already know but I am dating your principal" Janet said as she pulled Miss Violet by her waist, causing her to blush even more. Addison got up and walked in front of our principal. She stood there for five seconds before engulfing our principal in a hug. Janet couldn't do anything but smile. Adam and I both stood up and ran to join in on that heartwarming hug.
"Welcome to the family" I said.
Tiffany POV
"I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes" Chloe smiles. I know Chloe could feel the overwhelming love as everyone gave her a heartwarming smile. "I am truly happy that I got to spend another birthday with you guys. I don't know what I would do without you all." Chloe's eyes began to gloss over. Chloe covered her face to try and compose herself and gather her thoughts. Before she speaks she takes a deep breathe in and as she exhaled her shoulders fell and relaxed. I guess that one a new trick she learned from her therapist to control her overwhelming emotions.
"you guys are the family I always wanted" Chloe looked at everyone and they were all smiling at her.
"The family I always needed" she said as a tear escaped and trailed down her cheek.
I could see in Kaylee's eyes how much she loved Chloe. It was like her love was a rushing waterfall. Nothing could stop her from loving this girl and the love was endless. Adam had that proud brotherly look on his face. While also trying to keep a straight face to keep from crying. Janet looked like she was fighting a war with herself, She didn't know whether to cry and let all her emotions out or to stay strong and show her how proud she was of Chloe.
Addison on the other hand couldn't keep herself together. She was the first person to break and cry. "Its alright babe let it out" I whispered to me.
Kaylee stood up and wiped her face while walking toward Chloe. She leaned toward Chloe and spoke. "I'm so proud of you" before giving Chloe a kiss on her cheek. Chloe caved and took ahold of Kaylee and fell apart for a moment. Everyone was patient waiting for Chloe to calm down so she could finish her speech. Janet had her phone out recording and so was everyone else.
once the blonde was ready Kaylee took her seat. Chloe slowly walked over to Janet and got on her knees while taking Janet's hand in the process. "Janet I wanted to thank you for taking me in as your own. Feeding me and giving me clothes, and providing a roof for me to sleep under when you didn't have to" It took Chloe a moment to compose herself. The blonde was having a hard time giving her speech because of the overwhelming built-up emotions she had been holding on to. She took one deep breath and continued her speech. "I wanted to apologize for the way I've treated you over the years and in recent months".
Janet scooted closer to the edge of her seat and looked Chloe directly in her eyes before gently holding Chloe's face in her hands. Chloe instantly relaxes in Janet's' grasp.
As a daughter should with her mother
This was Janet's response to Chloe's apology. I knew Chloe lost the battle withholding her emotional battle. Every pent-up emotion or feeling she had was now released through tears that were rushing down her face.
Janet took her thumbs that were holding the face of the blonde and wiped her tears. "It's ok Chloe I forgive you, honey".
Janet stood up causing Chloe to do the same. She pulled Chloe into a big hug and squeezed her as tight as she could like someone was trying to steal the blonde away.
I do realize it was short and probably tasteless but I wanted you guys to have something while i work on the final Chapter of this book. I hope this didn't disappoint. I really tried, I've just been so busy with my life right now. I'm in a period of starting my life as a young adult who has to go out and make a life for myself and its been a stressful ride. PLEASE tell me if there are any errors because I do have plans for the books that i write and I want them to be perfect for myself but mainly for you guys. You all are my readers who support me as a writer and I want to grow in my writing and the only way to grown is to know the mistakes I've created and to fix them for the future.
