the snezhnayan weather was the same as always. it was always snowing, and you never got used to it despite living here for about a few decades now. you had someone you always went to whenever the weather felt too cold, and he always welcomed you with the gentlest of smiles.
he lived alone, despite having his loving family. his house in snezhnaya was very big, it looked like a mansion, and whenever you went in, you always felt so very grand. his house was nice and warm; cozy and fuzzy, he was always so picky with his beautiful standards of furniture.
the fireplace cackled as you and childe sipped the red wine he had prepared for you. the living area was wide and spacious, filled with golden furniture as well as glass and marble tables. the sparkling twinkle of the jades from liyue glimmered under the huge chandelier above your heads.
you chuckled at a joke that childe had said, crossing your leg over the other. the leather couch you were sitting on felt so warm and cozy compared to the blizzard happening outside his grand glass windows. your clothing matched with his; casual but comfy.
his coat was off, so he only had his brown shirt on, which came apart near the bottom with buttons which he didn't bother with. you sipped the wine as you stared at the handsome figure of childe right in front of you. you smiled as he caught you staring and raised his brow.
"staring, sweetheart?"
you giggled. "i would say admire."
childe chuckled as you both sipped the wine with the cackling of the fire as the background noise. you watched the snow from your seat as you cuddled yourself in his seat as he stared at you. he never thought he would be meeting someone as pretty as you, but life was hard, and he was a harbinger while you a normal pyro vision bearer.
oh, you two just wouldn't match~
how could fire and water ever meet without having issues, hm?
you and childe conversed a little more before the grand clock in his house chimed and made a comforting sound. it must have hit around midnight, and it meant you had to return back home. you knew the weather would just get worse from here on out, so you had better get home before the storm picked up.
"you seem like you're leaving," childe said as he poured himself another glass of wine in his mini-bar near to the dining room. the multiple racks of wine he had in the bar almost caught you by surprise, but then again, he was rich, what was stopping him from getting whatever wine he wanted though?
you slipped your blue fur coat on as you nodded at him. he turned his body and leaned against the counter as he sipped his wine, staring at you with his sea blue eyes. "yes, indeed, i must take my leave."
he felt a little sad. you were the only person who would trust him in this area of snezhnaya. before he went on adventures or did some harbinger work, he would always past by your house where you would be there waiting for him so you could hug and speak to him until you two reached the boarder which separated the dangerous parts of snezhnaya from the safe parts.
he loved the warm breads and cookies you would usually bake for him whenever he went on a long trip. he appreciated the soup you made for him whenever he fell ill. despite you and him being nothing more than friends, he couldn't help but fall for not only your charm, but also your kind personality.
he smiled, placing his wine glass on the counter. "could you perhaps stay?"
you smiled politely and shook your head. you really wished to stay too, but you knew that others had the mouth of a snake. whenever they saw you and childe, the people would start badmouthing both of you. you weren't just an ordinary young person, you were a person of high status; much similar to xingqiu but minus the endless amounts of books.
you had butlers, you had some royalty, then again, you weren't to become a queen. you were just someone of status, so your family had usually forbid you to be with childe.
ah, if only you listened.
you never did after all, you just... really liked being with him, but you didn't know how he felt about you, so you kept your love feelings to yourself.
you chuckled at his sad eyes as you started to grab your things. "i must leave childe, the weather might get worse."
childe smiled warmly as he dragged himself over to wrap his arms around your waist as you smiled at him, blushing a little. he bent his head down a little to connect your forehead with his. "could you please stay~"
you giggled and gently pushed him away as you continued to grab your things. "i really can't stay~"
childe leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. "baby its cold outside~"
you blushed at the way he addressed you. you picked up your materials and papers and stuffed them into the small pouch you had before you gave him a small smile. "i gotta go away~"
childe smiled sadly as he came over to you again, wrapping his arms around your waist as he swayed the both of you side to side gently. you blushed as the atmosphere become much more cozy, as he had some old records playing in the background, and adding the cackling of the fire? it seemed like you two were in a movie, plus the beautiful comfortable beach lighting from the chandeliers and candles.
"but baby its cold outside..." childe pouted as he moved his hand towards your face to brush his thumb over. you leaned into his touch as you held his hand with yours.
"this evening has been..."
he smiled. "i'm hoping that you dropped in~"
you then held his hand and twirled yourself around as he pulled you into his warm embrace. "so very nice~"
childe felt you slowly moving away, so he grabbed both of your hands gently as he intertwined your fingers with his. "i'll hold your hands.. they're just like ice~"
you chuckled and pulled your hands back and started to walk towards the living area, where you had left your unfinished wine. you wanted to finish the wine he had offered, and didn't want to waste some perfectly food wine, so it didn't matter if you needed to leave, you needed to get one last savour of childe's famous wine.
"my mother will start to worry~" you said gently as he came over to sit back down on his leather chair.
"beautiful whats your hurry?"
you giggled at his nicknames as you picked up your wine glass and walked over towards him. you leaned against the top of his leather chair as you looked down into his eyes while he smiled up at you. "my father will be pacing the floor~"
childe then took ahold of your wine glass, and you allowed it. he then reached into your pocket and pulled out a small diamond object and dropped it into the drink while he smiled and stared towards the fireplace in front of you both. "listen to that fireplace roar~"
you giggled as you weren't paying attention to what he had done to your wine as you were staring at your nails. you chuckled as you moved your hands to his hair to mess up his orange choppy hair, with him enjoying your touch. "so really i'd better scurry~"
you moved away and started to walk away, but he grabbed your wrist. "beautiful, please don't hurry~"
you chuckled as you saw him offer you back your wine glass. you happily accepted it with a shy smile as you bowed a little towards him before going back towards the leather seat you had been sitting on earlier. you sat down and crossed your leg over the other as you smiled at him. "or maybe just a half a drink more~"
childe cheered cutely as he got up from his chair, heading towards his grand piano in the middle of the grand room and going to the corner where his vintage golden record player stayed still, pulling out a few records to set them in tune. "i'll put some records on while i pour~"
you giggled as the fuzzy soft music started. you swirled the wine in your glass as you watched childe walk back towards the mini-bar. you then sighed dreamily as you watched his shoulders move and hair falling into his eyes, he was truly lovely. "the neighbours might think~"
you brought the glass towards your lips to take a sip while childe poured more wine into the glasses. he took a look out his windows as he saw that the weather had slightly gotten worse. maybe he just wanted to hold you in here until the next day, just to stay with you a little longer. he had extra rooms for you to stay in, so if you didn't want to sleep in the same room and bed with him, you could do those. "baby its bad out there~"
you sipped and sipped until your teeth came in contact with someone that didn't seem like liquid to you. you brought the glass down and found a small diamond ring inside the glass and blushed, picking the beautiful ring out from the glass and laughing. "say whats in this drink?"
childe chuckled as you laughed. he came towards you, took the ring and slipped it into your finger and gave it a kiss as you blushed and stared down at the ring on your finger. it was your left hand, so he wasn't proposing, but he was giving you a promise ring. this was all happening so fast, but you didn't care.
you really liked him.
"no events to be held out there~" he said as he kissed the top of your hand this time before you giggled and blushed a little more. you sighed.
"i wish i knew how~"
"your eyes are like starlight now..." childe complimented as he stared into your eyes. you chuckled.
"to break this spell~"
childe then stood up and went over to pick your small hat off your head that you had been wearing the whole time. he bowed a little and gave your head a kiss. "i'll take your hat~"
"why thank you."
"your hair looks swell~"
you blushed as he slowly moved over to sit on the armrest of the leather seat. you giggled as he got closer. "i ought to say no no no sir~"
childe brought his fingers to hug your chin as his fingers brushed your face. he moved in closer as he moved a few strands of hair out of your face, making you blush. "mind if i move in closer?"
you shook your head and gently pushed him away as you stood up and patted his head, teasing him. "at least im gonna say that i tried~"
childe laughed as you started to walk towards the doors again. "whats the sense of hurtin' my pride?"
you grabbed your bag from the counter of the bar and giggled at him as you saw him walking towards you with his hand going through his messy hair. "i really can't stay~"
he made it to you and pinned his hands on the counter, trapping you in between as he stared down at you. he towered over you, and you felt more comforted with him being like this with you rather than creeped out or disgusted. "baby don't hold out~"
"baby its cold outside~"
you then sighed as you gently pushed him away again. "you're very pushy you know?"
he then smiled mischievously as he sat on top of the counter top. "i'd like to think of it as opportunistic~!"
you shook your head with a smile as you started to walk towards the grand doors of childe's mansion. "i simply must go~"
childe smiled and got off the counter and grabbed you by your waist before you even reached the door. he pulled you back into his warm embrace as he hugged you back towards the living area, dropping the both of you onto the couch as he hovered above you with his hair falling into his eyes again. "baby its cold outside~"
you chuckled and shoved him off of you fairly easily, as he wasn't forcing you down. you started to walk towards the doors again. "the answer is no-"
childe chuckled as he summoned water animals to emerge from the grounds. the animals blocked your path by jumping and swimming in the sky around you, making you laugh at the fascinating water animals that hopped around and around you, not allowing you to pass through. "but baby its cold outside~"
you snickered as you waved your hands, which burnt the water creatures which started to vaporise, dissolving them into the air, leaving white smoke in the air. you turned to face childe with a smile. "the welcome has been..."
childe moved in closer to you and hugged your waist again, tilting his head to the side with a sly grin. "how lucky that you dropped in~"
you giggled and hugged him back finally as he swayed you two side to side. "so nice and warm~"
childe hugged you tightly as he ran his fingers through your hair, patting your back as he hushed you. "look out the window, at that storm..."
you then pushed him away form you again as you giggled. you went over to the bar and sat down on the counter top with your legs shaking back and fourth. "my sister will be suspicious~"
childe came closer and tilted your head upwards with his finger as he brushed your lips with his thumb. "gosh your lips look delicious.."
you blushed as you felt his lips inching closer towards yours. "my brother will be there at the door..."
he shook his head and moved away, gently sighing to himself, still trying to stay close to you despite not being able to seal his lips with yours. "waves upon a tropical shore..."
you chuckled at how sad he was and ruffled his choppy hair. "my maiden aunt's mind is vicious."
you knew how their minds worked, and so did childe. they would assume that you and childe would be doing something that young people shouldn't be doing before getting married. you disliked the way they thought, but oh well.
childe held your face again. "gosh your lips are delicious~"
you sighed and went in to peck his lips and hopped off the counter top, leaving him stunned and surprised. you placed your bag down on the ground as you huffed. "well maybe just another drink more!"
childe rubbed his lips as he flushed red as well. "never such a blizzard before..."
you shook your head at your own desires to drink. "and im not even thirsty..." you then sighed and picked up your bag, changing your mind on staying. "ive gotta get home-"
childe grabbed you and pulled you back to him again, not wanting you to leave him again. "baby you'd freeze out there." he said as he ruffled your hair messily. you clicked your tongue and sighed at him.
"say lend me your comb." you said. he nodded and pulled out a small comb from his pocket and handed it over to you so you'd be able to comb your hair back to normal again.
childe sighed, and pointed towards the windows, attracting your attention. "its up to your knees out there..!"
you combed your hair as you chuckled. "you've really been grand..."
he moved over and offered to comb your hair for you. he managed to brush his hand against yours before grabbing the comb. he started to brush your hair as he sighed dreamily at how lovely your hair was. "i feel when i touch your hand.."
"but don't you see?"
childe sighed sadly. "how can you do this thing to me...?"
you moved away and shook your head. "there's bound to be talk tomorrow."
childe pouted and put the comb in his pocket before he hugged your waist again, locking you close to him. "think of my life long sorrow..."
you chuckled as you leaned into his chest, lying your head against it as you listened to his rhythmical heartbeat. "at least there'll be plenty implied!"
he moved his lips down to kiss your forehead. "if you got pneumonia and died..."
you shook your head as you gently punched his shoulder. "i really can't stay..."
"get over that cold out~"

childe locked his lips with yours finally, and you snickered as you finally allowed him to get his way with you. he kissed you for a while before he pulled away. you smiled at him. "okay fine, just another drink then~"
he chuckled. "well, that took a lot of convincing~"
