{ The Next Evening | (7:23 p.m) }
"Cora, we're gonna be late if you don't come down right now ! " Kalvin informed her from down the stairs. He checked his Rolex shaking his head. They were about to lose their reservation and he wasn't in the mood to wait for thirty minutes or more to have another table, "Cora ! I'm gonna go without you. C'mon ! "
"Damn ! I'm coming ! "
The twins laughed behind him. Tonight, they were going to spend the night with Kaldrick, Amy and Mikayla. By the way, Kaldrick was on his way to pick them up and guess what. He was late also. They were getting on Kal's last nerves. He couldn't help but groan in frustration. Plus, he was hungry.
"Black people, I swear." He checked his watch once again.
"Yeah, of course, you're so not black, Kalvin." Acacia said with a lot of sarcasm making her brother chuckle.
Kalvin rolled his eyes, "You and your no funny little butt go somewhere else before I start snapping for real." He told her irritated.
"Hey ! I got curves, what you're talking about ? I don't have a little butt ! Give me some more years and nobody will remember Nicki Minaj once Acacia will run all that business. Yes sir ! " She said rolling her neck and smacking her gum like a cow. She was playing well her new character.
Almar was on the floor cracking up while Kal simply shook his head asking God to help these kids. They were starting acting like Terry.
Then the doorbell rang, "Finally ! I thought you forgot." Kalvin said after opening the front door.
His big brother rolled his eyes and walked in the house pushing his little brother on the side, "Chill. I'm here, that's the most important. Kids are y'all ready ? Mikayla is so excited, she planned all the night for us to have fun, we won't be bored."
"Cool ! Let us just take our bags and we're out." Almar said and they went upstairs real quick.
"So..."
Kalvin looked at his brother nonchalantly, "So what ? "
"You and Cora...Hmm..."
"Hmm, nothing. Get the fuck outta my face with your bullshit."
"Someone pissed in your breakfast this morning."
"No."
Kaldrick chuckled, "Then you better watch your fucking tone when you're talking to me and stop acting crazy before I send you in another dimension." His expression changed quickly to a serious one.
"We're not kids anymore."
"Another reason to beat you down. It's never too late to educate your ass."
"We're ready ! " The twins screamed going down the stairs, "We can go." They said in unison, "Bye, grumpy."
"And you better treat our mummy right...or it's your head that will disappear next time." Acacia warned him.
And she was dead serious.

Ten minutes later and they were still not out of the house. Kalvin was about to drag Cora in the restaurant whether she was ready or not. He was tired to wait and now it was sure they had lost their reservation.
"CORA ! " He yelled angrily on the top of his lungs.
"I'm here, I'm here. Sorry." She walked in the living room adjusting her dress.
Kalvin looked up and all the anger he had inside him all of sudden vanished away as his eyes were traveling Cora's body up and down. She was looking gorgeous. Very beautiful. She was wearing a black lace dress with long sleeves that was making justice to her incredible curves with blue king blue heels. She didn't even look two months pregnant. Her makeup was done well, it wasn't too much and it was just showing her beauty. Her hair were down and wavy.
"Wow..." He managed to say after five entire minutes of contemplation.
"Oh ! You like it ? " She asked and spin around, "It's crazy, we don't even see my little bump in this dress."
He nodded his head silently. It was like a goddess just had made her entrance and he couldn't help but be hypnotized by her splendor. He swallowed his saliva that was stuck in his throat and then cleared it, "Uh...You're uh...magnificent." He complimented her standing up.
She chuckled, "Magnificent ? Wow. Thanks. You look superb in your outfit too." He did look really attractive in his suit, with his fresh hair cut and his shining smile. He was sexy, as usual.
"Thank you. Well, can we go now ? "
She nodded her head, "Yes. And sorry again, I didn't mean to take that long." She apologized as they were getting out.
"Oh, no...It's okay."
She locked the front door and now they were walking to the car, "Are you sure ? You sounded a little upset a couple of minutes ago."
"Oh, no..."
"Hm..." She hummed smirking. He opened the door for her and she got in his black Mercedes. She frowned a bit wondering how many cars he owned. It seemed like he was changing of car every day. But she shook her head thinking about something else. Like the night they were about to enjoy. Finally without kids and all the unnecessary drama. Cora wanted to do only one thing tonight and it was to relax.
"Where are we going ? " She asked curiously.
"This new restaurant, Delicious. I heard their food is good. And it's a little fancy." He answered with his eyes focused on the road. Then a silence settled down between us, but it was a comfortable one. Though it got a little too quiet, so Kalvin turned the radio on and Ready by Jagged Edge began to echo in the car. Cora smiled letting their angelic voices filling her ears. She was a fan.

Kalvin nodded his head thinking about his life, he couldn't help it. Somewhat, the lyrics were talking to him. He wasn't one of these 'no love' type of guys, but he wasn't that hurried for love either. Well, if love comes to him, he will welcomed it. But he was afraid. He had never really been in love like that before and the last serious relationship he had, wasn't that serious. He shoot a quick glare to Cora that was in her own world enjoying the song. Was she the one ?
He sighed. If it means to happen, it will happen.

"Here your table. I'm going to send you a waiter. I hope you'll enjoy Delicious." The host said helping them to settle at their table. Fortunately, they hadn't had to wait and got placed as soon as they walked in. Thanks to Kalvin being a famous basketball player.
Five minutes later and a young waiter was standing before them. He introduced himself and asked them what they wanted. They looked through the menu at first and then ordered.
"Okay, I'm coming back with your appetizer and drinks in two minutes." Dylan informed them smiling. And it kept his little promise. Two minutes later, he was back at their table.
"Thanks." They said at the same time.
"You're welcome."
"So, when are the Play Offs ? " Cora asked to start the conversation.
Kalvin chuckled, "Next year. You know, we can talk about something else than basketball. I know, it's not really your cup of tea. How is it going with the club ? And what about that deal with that company in New York ? "
"Oh yeah ! Fashion&Style cosmetic. The CEO called me yesterday, she told me what they want to do and she will be here after Christmas to see the club."
"That's cool. So, do you want a girl or a boy ? "
She laughed, "How do we go from basketball to the club to the baby subject now ? "
"Hm, I think that's what you call a random conversation." He joined her in her laugh, "It's really easy to spend time with you. I'm never bored."
She beamed widely, "Aw. Thanks, you're a good baby daddy. Very good. And I want a healthy baby."
He playfully rolled his eyes, "Of course. C'mon, you can be honest with me. Look, it's easy, I want a boy."
She shook her head grinning, "Of course. And I'm honest. I already have a girl and a boy, so it doesn't really matter to me, I just want a healthy and cute baby."
"What are you talking about ? The baby will be cute, no doubt about it. Look at the father." He said being cocky.
"And what about the mummy ? "
"I can bet on it. The child will have most of my features. People will think I did everything by myself."
"Fuck you mean ! "
Kalvin laughed, "Jesus ! My crazy side is influencing on yours way too much."
She chuckled, "True. Your people are cray-cray. Uh...by the way, did you talk to her ? "
He sighed, "No. I'm still waiting."
"Well, I hope the baby won't be as stubborn as you." Cora couldn't deal with a second Kalvin. He had a lot of qualities, but as everybody he had flaws also. And that stubbornness wasn't a joke.
He shrugged, "It's cool to be stubborn."
