Previously on Total Drama Island

Heather allied with Beth and Lindsay,

But Alexandra and Leshawna didn't waste any time blocking Heather's moves.

Courtney got a sneaky proposition.

And some of the campers have already fallen asleep.

-It was the biggest party I've been to. My best dude Broody threw the armchair from the balcony to the garden.- Geoff is telling me some stories from his parties to keep us awake.

-I'm going to the bathroom.-Eva states.

-Alright.- I answer her.

While Eva is gone, Heather makes her way to the spot where my friend sat at. She's stretching and acting innocent.

-Do you need anything?-I ask her.

-Don't worry. It's nothing that can disturb your time with your boyfriend.

-Tell me something, Heather. Why do you hate me so much?

-I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain this to you.

I roll my eyes.

-Just keep rolling your eyes. Maybe it will find you a brain somewhere.

-You remind me of a penny...two-faced and not worth much.

-Two-faced, said the girl who half of her time spends, plotting with Leshawna.

-Said the girl who needs to use others to win.

-And what makes you think I need anyone to win?

-I know you made an alliance with Beth and Lindsay.

-It's not a crime.

-We both know what you want to do. Stop beating around the bush.

-Wow, that's a really good story, so at what chapter do you shut up?!

-Back of Heather, you're not welcome here.

Geoff grabs her wrist and sends her a glare.

-Our little princess is vulnerable again. Needed a guy to save your butt.

-I said drop dead!- Geoff snarls.

-You're protecting the wrong girl.

She whips her wrist and storms off, grabbing something from the ground on the way.

-Don't listen to her.-Geoff put an arm around my shoulder and led me back to the blanket.

With Heather

-Um, isn't that Eva's MP3 player?-Lindsay asks Heather.

-Yup.

-Well, isn't she gonna get like, really mad when she realizes it's gone?

-That's exactly what I'm counting on.

Confessional

Heather: What is the best way to kick off your enemy? Get rid of their friends first, or turn their friends against them. Even better if you can do both.

Back to Alexandra

I'm braiding Sadie's hair, so they match Katie's hairstyle I did a moment ago.

-Aww thanks, Alexandra. That's so cute.

-No prob, girls.

-You're the best.

-Come on, we'll braid your hair now, also.

-Good luck with that.-I giggle.

-Wow, your hair is so soft.

-Yeah, but how do you style them every day? It's so hard to brush those curls.

-That's why I usually just let them be. I have a special comb in my bag...

I rummage through my bag frantically, eventually emptying it. My comb is gone, and I have no idea where I could have left it.

-Don't worry, you must have left it in the cabin.- Katie says.

-Or bathroom.- Sadie suggests.

-I need to look for it.- I jog towards the cabin.

-No leaving, the area.- Chris stops me.

-I need to.- I say.

-Not now. We're in the middle of something.

-It'll change nothing if I leave for a moment.- I try to persuade him.

-Alexandra, I said no.

I sadly plop back down.

-It's just a comb. We can borrow you ours.- Sadie and Katie offer.

-It was a present.- I sigh.

-From who?

-My best friend's mom. She got it for me for Christmas when we were in primary school.

-Oh, that's cute. She's like your aunt.

-She is.- I smile.

-Congratulations, campers! You've made it to the twenty-four-hour mark. Time to take things up a notch! Fairy tales!-Chris draws our attention with a huge book in his hands.

After him, Chef makes his entrance in a ballerina dress. While Chris is reading, he's playing the harp.

-"Once... Upon a time... There was... Inside this boring kingdom... A boring village. And inside this boring, sleepy, village... Filled with very boring children... that did very... Boring things."

-Am I imagining things? Do you see that?- I ask.

Chef is dancing in front of us, throwing some kind of dust at everyone. He stops when a tree falls.

-Timber!- Gwen says.

-DJ!-I run to the tree.

DJ is still tied up to the trunk.

-DJ, are you alright? Oh my god, say something.

He softly snores, relieved that he's alive, I untie him and let him sleep. I walk back to my team and sit next to Eva.

-How is it going?

-I've never been so tired in my life.- She yawns.

-We need to keep it together. Do you have your MP3? We could listen to music.

-I think I left it in the cabin when I was at the toilet.

-What a bummer.

-Do you have yours?

-I do. Wait, you were in the cabin?

-Yeah.

-Stupid Chris and his rules. He didn't let me go to the cabin.- I whine.- Did you see my comb there by any chance?

-No, sorry.

-At least we have music.- I take out my MP3 and hands Eva one earphone.

-I have an idea, but I don't know if you'll like it.

-What is it?

-I was thinking if you could teach me how to braid hair.

-I've got you.

-I don't like girly hairstyles.- She stops me.- I need something more comfortable than a ponytail, though.

-I have an idea.

-Great, what are we waiting for?

Confessionals

Courtney: I figured that if I kept moving, I could outlast all of them. I just had to keep my eye on the ball.

Eva: I let her do that, but it doesn't mean I softened. She's the only girl I like on this island, that's the reason. And I really need a new hairstyle.

Owen: Did I mention that I ate the entire dish of baked beans and maple syrup? The funny thing about baked beans, is they make me sleepwalk.

I grab my bag and blanket, checking if Geoff is still awake. Luckily he is. I send him a toothy smile and head back to Eva. On my way, someone grabs my waist and covers my eyes.

-Hey!- I yelp.

-Easy there, princess. You don't want to see this.

-See what?

-Naked Owen.

-Ok, you're right.

He eventually removes his hand from my eyes, but still holds me.

-You can let me go now.

-Maybe, I don't want to.- He whispers right into my ear. It sends shivers down my spine.

-Oh, too bad I need to go to Eva, she's waiting for me.

-I'll catch you later, darling. Be aware of that.

He lets me go. I hastily come back to Eva, receiving a glare from Courtney.

What now? Can't she just accept my existence?

-What happened?

-Duncan, happened. I think that's enough of an explanation.

-Are you two a thing?

-Nooo! I barely know him. I think it's his regular attitude to act this way.

-In my opinion, he treats you differently.

-Maybe, but it's because I treat him in a specific way.

-What do you mean?

-Look, with you, I just have a normal conversation. And with him, it's all about banter.

-If he hurts you, let me know, and I'll show him the meaning of hurt.

-Thanks for being my friend, Eva.- I chuckle.

Time skip

-Look at him. He's like a statue. He hasn't moved in over... Fifty hours! Hello? Yo!- Gwen points on Justin.

-Yip! Yip! Yip yip yip yip yip!- Trent starts to wave his hand in front of Justin.

-Amazing. Look at the concentration.

I walk up to them.

-What's up?

-Alexandra! Check this out, man is standing as a statue.-Trent explains.

-His eyelids are painted! I saw it!-Eva screams.

-Get out! Oh, I've gotta see this. That is so crazy incredible! But you're still out, dude.- Chris decides.

-I never thought you could be sneaky.

-You have a lot more to find out.- He winks, walking off.

-How did your talks go?-Gwen asks.

-Good.

-Cool, told you everything will be alright.-Trent smiles.

-Being so optimistic makes you sound like, Geoff.- I chuckle.

-Hey, it's a good thing. You like him, after all.

-I like you too. No matter if you're optimistic or not. We're a diverse bunch, but it makes things interesting.

Time skip

We're now 85 hours without sleep. Geoff passed out a while ago, laying his head on my lap. Eva is sitting beside me. Duncan walks up to sleeping Harold with a mug. He puts a nerd's hand into it.

-Gross, it works! The dude peed his pants!

-Really, Duncan?

-Don't tell me you weren't laughing, princess.

I want to talk back, but a scream interrupts me. Noah is hugging sleeping Cody, who starts to scream as well.

-Now, that's funny.-I tell Duncan.

-I'd kill for a coffee right now.- Gwen states.

-What is the matter with you people? Come on, fall asleep already!- Chris welcomes us with a cup of coffee.

-You've gotta hook me up, man. I'll even eat the grinds! Anything!- Gwen says.

-Oh man, I love coffee.- I yawn.

-Too bad you can't drink it, Alexandra.- Chris is his usual self.

-All right, you six stay with me. The rest of you go get a shower, for heaven's sake. You stink! I didn't want it to come to this. I said that to Chef Hatchet last night. I said, "Chef, I don't want it to come to this. But darn it, these campers are tough." And so... I've come up with the most boring, sleep-inducing activity I can find. "The History of Canada," a pop-up book.

I shake Geoff awake. He doesn't know what is going on, but obediently listens to my words and goes to the cabins.

Me, Eva, Duncan, Trent, Gwen, and Heather are the last ones standing.

-Stink.- Gwen says.

-Can't disagree with you.- I answer.

I sit between Duncan and Eva.

-"Chapter One: The Beaver" National symbol and a "dam" fine hat."- Chris reads.

-Told you. I'll catch you later.

-You did only because I let you.- I smirk.

-We can talk this theory through.

Eva falls to the ground, followed by Heather, and Trent, to Gwen's dismay.

-Crap, looks like we're alone in that one.

-That's the way I like it. I have to say, I didn't expect you to be that tough, darling.

-Most people say so. What did you expect me to be then?

-Derealized, silly, slightly depressed, and arrogant girl.

-Gee, how cute.- I roll my eyes.

-When I'm asked about the artistic type, that's what comes to my mind. But you're different.

-You know nothing about being artistic, do you?

-Scraping skulls on tress count?- He laughs.

-In my opinion, yes.

-What?

-Everything we create poses some kind of magic. It represents part of us, even if we don't think it's true.

-I change my mind. You're 100% an artist.- He smirks.

I nudge him with a smile. He slips an arm around my waist, and I rest my head on his shoulder.

-I'm so tired, Duncan.

-Don't leave me here, princess.- He rubs my back.

-I'm trying.

After a few more chapters, Chris takes a break

-Time for a bathroom break! Any takers?

- I've held it this long, sweetheart! I can go all day!

- Yeah, but can you hold it for another ten chapters?-Gwen questions.

-You've got five minutes. Long as you don't mind a little company.

-Fine. But stay out of the stall. Be right back, cupcake. Don't fall asleep.

I raise my head from his shoulder.

-You're not looking good.

-I know, Gwen. Not like you're in the best shape yourself.

-Haha.

-I can't. Tell Duncan. I'm sorry.

I collapse to the ground, letting my body rest.

Time skip

I'm leaning against Gwen while we're walking back to our cabins. She won. Duncan fell asleep in the toilet. What I see are items being thrown through the window of our lodge.

-Where is my MP3 player?! One of you must've stolen it. I need my music! No one is going anywhere until I get my MP3 player back!- Eva yells.

-Eva!?- I say as loud as I can. Gwen trudges to her cabin on her own.

-Alexandra!- DJ helps me keep my balance.

-What's going on, big guy? I want to sleep.

- Okay. Whoever took it better give it up, now before she destroys the whole camp.- Courtney whispers to us.

-Hey, guys! Wow, this place is a real mess.- Heather joins us.

I lean on DJ's chest, not wanting to start another fight with her right now. He sees my uneasiness and puts his arm around me in a protective manner.

-Someone stole Eva's MP3 player.- Courtney speaks to Heather.

-You don't mean this, do you? I was wondering who it belonged to.- She shows us Eva's player.

-Oh, thank you! Thank you, thank you!- Eva smiles.

-Sure thing.- I see a gleam in her eyes.

-Where did you get it?- My blood is boiling.

-It's interesting you ask because I found it at the showers in your toilet bag.- She accuses, throwing a toilet bag at the ground.

-How do you know it's mine? Bridgette has the same toilet bag.- I cross my arms.

-Why would Bridgette have your comb in hers?- Heather answers.

-No way.- Bridgette gasps.

-Alex?- Geoff rubs his temple.

-You're a thief.- Tyler points at me.

-You had this all the time, didn't you? You knew we were looking for it during the challenge. You're trying to set me up!- I argue.

-You can't fight the evidence.

-I thought we were friends. You're such a liar.- Eva slaps me, and I fall to the ground due to the impact.

Campers gather around to see what is going on. I can't move and sit there with an open mouth. My cheek is burning, and I think she bruised my nose because I can feel blood slowly dripping through my nostrils.

-Are you crazy? Leave her alone.- Leshawna rushes up to me and helps me stand up.

-But she couldn't take it. -Sadie pipes up.

-Yes, we've been rummaging through her things. Alexandra lost it before the challenge.- Katie backs me up.

-It's all your job, isn't it?- Leshawna barks at Heather.

-I'm innocent. Geoff, I told you, you're protecting the wrong girl.- She sobs and wraps her arms around Geoff.- I can't take it any longer.

-Don't tell me you'd buy this.- Gwen looks at Geoff.

-Man, wake up.- Trent joins the argument.

-I don't know.- Geoff scratches his neck, but his arm lands around Heather's waist nonetheless.

I look at him bluntly, but I feel hurt inside.

-I'm confused.- Bridgette breathes.

-No, I refuse to believe it.- DJ decides.- Alexandra wouldn't do that.

-You can think what you want, but the evidence is right there, and you still choose to protect her. She's the one bullying me, not the other way.- Heather sobs.

-We don't buy it.- Noah simply says.- Now end your stupid act. Some people want to rest. Come on, Alexandra, you need to get rid of the blood stains.

I obediently follow him.

***

-Why are you so silent?- Noah asks me as he washes the blood of.

-No one, ever slapped me before.

-You didn't deserve it.- He nods.- I didn't expect Heather to be such a manipulator.

-Me neither. Too bad my team is not sure about it.

-I took care of it.

-What?

-What?

-Noah.- I wrap him in a hug.

-Stop sobbing, you're wetting my sweater.- He sighs.

-But, how?

-I'm not giving away my secrets. I might use this trick again later in the game. Now, get yourself together and head to the elimination ceremony.

Cut to the elimination ceremony

-You've all cast your votes and made your decision. There are only 10 marshmallows on this plate. When I call your name, come up and claim your marshmallow. The camper who does not receive a marshmallow must immediately return to the Dock of Shame, catch the Boat of Losers, and leave. And you can never come back. Ever. The first marshmallow goes to Duncan.- Chris carries on.

- Bridgette, Courtney, Katie, and, Sadie.

-Tyler, DJ, Geoff.

-Alexandra.- I pick myself up and trudge to get my marshmallow.

Bridgette pats my back and, I lean on her almost falling asleep.

-Campers, this is the final marshmallow of the evening.

-Harold! Eva, the Dock of Shame awaits.

-Nice. Really nice. Who needs this stupid TV show anyway?!- She kicks Chris on her way.

-Oof! Owww! Have a good sleep tonight. You're all safe.

Confessionals

Courtney: See, I told you. You can't act like a total raging psychopath and then expect people to just forgive you! No matter how tough and strong and fast you are, she's never gonna have a career if she doesn't get her act together.

Heather: So Eva was one of their strongest players. And now she's gone. I am so running this game.

Alexandra: I knew Heather is a witch, but I didn't expect that. How could she set this up so fast?

-Buh-Bye, Eva!- Courtney waves her goodbye.

Furious Eva throws a stick in her direction.

-Touchy!

-Wait, Eva!- I run after her.- I didn't steal your MP3. I swear.

-I know, now. I'm sorry I slapped you. Kick their asses for me, alright.

-I'll try.

With that, we part ways. The boat motor runs and takes her away. I slowly come back to my team and stand next to Duncan, who is as sleepy as me.

-You can be such a melt.- He sighs.

-I never stated differently.

-She slapped you.

-Yeah.-I touch my cheek.

-You're a strange one. - He smirks.

-After all, I'm your friend.- I chuckle.

-Hey.- He nudges me, and we're laughing together after a moment. I yawn and slump my shoulders. Duncan picks me up bridal style.

-What are you doing?

-Taking you to the cabin.

-You know I can walk. - I raise my brow.

-Use my kindness while it lasts.

-Goodnight, guys!- I wave to my team before Duncan carries me to the lodge.

I rest my head on his chest and don't even realize it when I drift off, lulled by his warmth.
