*Infirmary*
John rushes in the infirmary. He pulls the curtain. "Sera!"
Arlo and Elaine look at John.
"...." John looks surprised.
"....!!" Seraphina looks at John.
Seraphina avoids eye contact with John. Zane and Zari enter the infirmary. The two notice Isen and he looks away in fear. John looks sad.
"...." Seraphina looks sad. "Sorry John. I let you down. I tried everything. I did everything you taught me back there." Seraphina says.
She remembers getting attacked so easily.
"But nothing worked." Seraphina adds as she closes her eyes. "I don't know how... I'll ever be strong as you."
John stays silent and grabs Seraphina.
".....?" Seraphina looks at John.
John hugs Seraphina. Zane and Zari appear and look at the two. Arlo ad Elaine look at the twins. The twin look at Arlo and Elaine then back to John and Seraphina. Seraphina begins to tear up.
"Don't think about that right now. Everything takes time. I'll be there." John says.
Arlo and Elaine stay silent.
'I hope you keep your word John.' Zane and Zari think.
'Things will get worse the longer you hide your ability from her after everything she's been through.' Zari thinks.
A bit of time passes, Remi and Blyke enter the infirmary.
"ISEN!" Remi calls.
"...." Blyke looks concerned.
"ISEN, ARE YOU HERE?" Remi yells.
"THIS IS THE FUCKING INFIRMARY! KEEP YOUR VOICE DOWN!" Doc shouts as he slams his hand on the table.
Remi and Blyke sweat a little.
"....." Remi stays silent.
"Your friend's in the back." Doc points at the back with his thumb.
Remi and Blyke walk to the back and see Isen on the infirmary bed.
'Aw, shit!' Isen thinks as he holds the blanket.
"There you are!" Remi says.
Remi looks to her side.
'Why'd you guys have to show up now, of all times?' Isen questions in his mind.
Remi pushes the curtain open. "Arlo? What are you doing here?" she asks. "......." "Elaine? Seraphina too? What's going on?"
"You know what privacy is?" Arlo and Zane says in unison.
John notices Isen.
"I SWEAR, I WAS NOT EAVESDROPPING! I PLUGGED MY EARS THE WHOLE TIME!" Isen yells in a worried tone.
Remi looks confused.
"Jeez.. You look like crap." Blyke says.
Zane and Zari look at each other. Zari glances at John. Zane nods his head.
"SHUT UP! I tripped and fell down some stairs, okay?" Isen says.
Zari facepalms.
"Dude, who you trying to fool? We already know someone kicked your ass." Blyke says.
"There are rumors circulating about you getting into a fight with a masked student." Remi says.
Seraphina looks concerned. Isen looks nervous.
"Yeah, word is he had multiple abilities!" Blyke says.
Isen looks at the others. "......"
Arlo and Zane glare at Isen.
"....." John and Zari look at Isen.
Isen gulps nervously while shaking a bit.
"That's pretty strange. How were you beaten by someone we don't know about? I heard that another masked female with crystal wings was with the masked student." Blyke says.
"....." Isen looks depressed.
"Do you know why he attacked you?" Remi asks. "Because what he did to you is not okay! We can't let someone like this run around the school freely."
Isen sighs. "UGH, will you cut it out? I just suffered a humiliating defeat... and now you're embarrassing me in front of everyone. Let me recover before bombarding me with questions!"
"He's got a point." Blyke says.
"...." Remi looks worried. She looks at Arlo. "Hey Arlo, are you hearing any of this? Aren't you concerned at all?"
"Yeah. I'll look into it." Arlo replies.
Remi looks at Zane and Zari. "What about you two?"
"What about it?" Zane asks.
"You were there weren't you Zari. Masked female with crystal wings. It was you right?" Blyke asks.
Seraphina looks at Zari.
"Yeah it was me." Zari shrugs.
"Then why did you let it happen?" Remi asks.
"I thought it would be fun." Zari says.
"It's not right though." Remi protests.
"And letting the bullying continue and others still get hurt isn't your concern?" Zari asks.
"....." Remi stays silent.
"So you or Zane ain't gonna do anything about it?" Blyke asks.
"Nope." Zane and Zari reply in unison.
"......"
"Why?" Blyke asks.
"Orders from our mother." Zane and Zari say.
"We told our mom about the masked person since Zeke's beat down. She told us to stay away from it since it isn't our concern." Zari says.
"So in other words, this is Wellston problem. We aren't here to clean up the royals mess and dirty work. That's why you have the titles." Zane says.
"That's just messed up. Then why don't you take the royal titles?" Blyke asks.
"Prevents us from doing our job. Unless you forgotten what we talked about." Zane glares at Blyke.
Zari glares at Remi. Blyke and Remi step back. Remi looks at Isen.
"Are you gonna be okay?" Remi asks.
"Yeah yeah. Just take notes for me." Isen replies.
"Sure, we'll come check on you again later!" Remi says.
'Please just leave....!' Isen thinks as he shakes.
John just stares at Remi and Blyke.
"Isen acting kinda weird." Remi says.
"Yeah, cuz he's a weirdo." Blyke replies.
John just looks at them.
"Zane. Zari." Seraphina calls.
The two look at Seraphina.
"Did Mrs.Lance really tell you to not interfere?" Seraphina asks.
Zane sighs. "No she didn't."
"Then why aren't you gonna do anything?" Seraphina asks.
"Seraphina, think of this like a lesson. Study your opponent. Learn their tactics. Understand how they think. Use what you can against them." Zane says.
"....?" Seraphina looks confused.
"If we go and attack without knowing what the masked student is truly capable of, we could be defeated easily." Zari says.
"But can they really defeat you? You are strong." Seraphina says.
"And from what's been going on, this person knows how to fight and overwhelm their opponents. We dealt with a lot of people like that. We seen what could happen if we don't know what we are facing up against. After all, Lex was fast but his speed didn't help him save one of the people we lost." Zane states.
Seraphina, Arlo and Elaine look surprised.
"I see.... Sorry." Seraphina sighs.
"It's fine. Didn't mean to compare a mission with what's been going on." Zane says.
"....." John looks at the twins.
'Being powerful doesn't save lives even when they are close to you. Is that what you mean?' Arlo questions in his mind.
Some time passes, Seraphina is sleeping.
"John." Arlo says.
John looks at Arlo.
"A word." Arlo says.
*Time Skip after John and Arlo talk about Seraphina and the hierarchy*
"You want me to do something, Arlo? Then fine. I will. I'll start by tearing down your precious system. I'm going to break the hierarchy. How's that?" John asks.
Arlo looks taken back. "...." "Please. Don't make me laugh! How could you possibly do that?"
"......" John closes his eyes then opens his eyes. "Just enjoy your throne while you still can." John begins to walk away.
"You'll never make it pass Zane and Zari!" Arlo states.
John stops and looks at Arlo. "Oh? You think I don't know that? I know how strong those two are. After all, Zane has defeated me already."
Arlo looks surprised.
"I used the abilities from his friends before Lex showed up. They knew about my ability. I told them in case you are wondering." John says. 'But doesn't mean I'll tell you that I'm part of the group.'
"So you still plan on tearing down the hierarchy and fighting them?" Arlo says.
"Of course. But I won't have to worry. They owe me a favor and I think it's about time I used it." John smirks.
Arlo realizes what John means. John walks away.
'They won't interfere unless I want them too or their mother tells them too. Either way, I'll be fine with them defeating me. If it's to save Sera from me, so be it.' John thinks.
