The team would go on to eat and pass out at a restaurant while Takeda would celebrate in his own way by drinking heavily leaving Ukai to drive them back to the school. As the team went to their respective homes Hinata and Yachi went home together to have their own celebratory meal. The bike ride to Yachi's home was brisk Hinata's peddling was slower as to enjoy the long ride but also to rest his tired legs.
"Are you sure you're still hungry? You ate quite a bit at the restaurant."
"Coach was treating us! I had to eat the good food. Don't worry though I always have room for more." Remember the barbecue in the summer?
"Yes I remember well..."
"Are you sure your mom is going to be ok with me dropping in?"
"I'm sure she won't mind, it's my turn tonight to cook dinner so as long as I fulfill my responsibilities she'll be fine... besides she hasn't seen you in a while and considering the past few weeks I think she'd want to see you."
"She's... she's not going to kill me is she?"
"No of course not- actually I don't know..."
"Hitoka seriously?"
"I'm sorry I don't know exactly! This is a first for me! You've been over to my apartment before but that was different!" Hitoka pressed her face in his back and hugged him tighter while they rode "besides it's not like she doesn't like you, you're sweet, and amazing."
Hinata blushed and smiled softly "I guess it won't be so bad..."
They soon arrived at Yachi's apartment complex and locked his bike at a nearby rack. They walked to her door and walked in
"Mom I'm home! And I brought Hinata! I hope that's ok!"
Her mom called out from another room "welcome home! Uh... yes that's fine! I'll meet you in a bit I'm just finishing something up for tomorrow."
As Yachi got things ready in the kitchen Hinata waited at the island counter of her kitchen.
"You want my help?" Hinata asked leaning on the counter
"No I should be fine. Just wait for dinner, you're tired just relax on the couch for a bit." Yachi said as she stirred a pot
Hinata insisted "Come on just give me something small to do!"
Yachi smiled and sighed "ok... are you good with a knife?"
"That depends on what you want me to do with the knife." Hinata said jokingly
"Can you dice these carrots for me then?" She said turning around
"Yes ma'am." He said saluting as if she were a superior officer
As they worked in the kitchen Hinata began to hum a song while he chopped vegetables catching Yachi's attention as she started to tap her foot
"Are you humming 'We Will Rock You' by Queen?" Yachi asked laughing
"Yeah! I mean we did didn't we? We rocked today against Ushiwaka!" He said as he continued to dice and hum
"I guess." As Hinata continued to him the melody Yachi started to sync up with his humming and quietly sung the lyrics
"...Buddy you're a young man, hard man shouting in the street gonna take on the world someday!..."
"You got blood on your face!..."
"Big disgrace!"...
"Waving your banner all over the place!"
As they both sung the classic song together Yachi's mom walked into the living room quietly and watched them laugh and sing together while they cooked
