BACKGROUND: Aylin Quinn was born to Sitara Rieka and Kalon Quinn in the year 21 BBY on the planet Mandalore. Sitara and Kalon were apart of the Mandalorian extremist group Death Watch and were killed during the Death Watch's confrontation with Duchess Satine and the Jedi Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Aylin stayed in various orphanages after her parent's deaths but fled Mandalore altogether when she was sixteen. Aylin got work as a bounty hunter and continued in that profession for the next several years. In that time she had a brief relationship with fellow Mandalorian and bounty hunter Leera Ambar. Shortly after their separation she got a job to assassinate Queen Iris of Naboo, but chose not to go through with it and got hired as her captain of the guard. She has been in that position for nearly two years when we meet her in the book.
