(Honestly though... this is the worst ship name I've heard of in RWBY XD but before you kill me, lets go on with the reaction)
So we all know how Emerald looks up to Cinder, a.k.a she worships Cinder so much that she's been called a simp several times.
Their relationship has been described as either mother-like (Emerald looks up to Cinder as mother-figure) or romantic (Emerald is crushing on Cinder, like HARD). Either way, their relationship appears one-sided.
Emerald is always worrying about Cinder, and as seen from Volume 7-8, Cinder couldn't care less.

Even when Cinder was sulking, we don't really know how she feels about Emerald. She's either sad that she'll lose Emerald and Mercury as her minions, or in some twisted way, fails to admit that they mean anything to her.

I kinda agree that Emerald is too pure for Cinder, but then again she helped bring down Beacon without any remorse.
But given that she has a redemption arc, it would be a really interesting reunion. Too bad that reunion didn't appear in Volume 8.
(I kinda hate their current designs, its only reasonable most of their fanarts are from older volumes)
