Raising Sophie - Brollins

After dinner at the Good house was finished, Renee found herself sitting on the couch trying to hold back her laughter as she listened to her husband and Sophie argue in the kitchen.

She watched Jon and Sophie standing in front of the sink as he handed Sophie each dish.

"There's a speck on that one" he said handing her the plate and the little girl glared up at him

"Seriously?" She asked as she examined it "No there's not" she shook her little head as she handed it back to him

"Yes there is" he placed it back in the water

"Why are you two washing dishes by hand?" Renee questioned "We have a dishwasher"

"It builds character" Jon answered quickly "Now scrub" he looked down at the little girl and Sophie let out a huff before washing the plate again

Once dishes were finished, Sophie showered before coming down to watch frozen with Jon, who kept falling asleep in the middle of it, once frozen and frozen 2 were both watched in their entirety Renee tucked the little girl into bed in the guest room.

It was a good first night, Sophie was easy to take care of, she didn't complain much, she didn't ask for much and she did basically anything she was asked to do. It was a credit to how she was being raised by Colby and Rebecca.

It was looking to be a quiet night in the house, Renee checked in with Rebecca and let her know that Sophie was fast asleep in the guest room before making her way up to her own room across the hall.

It was 2AM when there was a loud scream throughout the house, Blue and Benny's heads both popped up at the end of the bed as Renee and Jon both sat up quickly and looked at one another.

"What the hell was that?" Jon questioned as he watched his wife jump out of the bed quickly

"Sophie.." She said as she ran out of the room and he followed her quickly

"Is she okay?" He asked as he walked into the guest room and watched Renee pick a crying Sophie up in her arms

"Sophie.. it's okay.." She shushed her "It's okay.. we're right here" she said "Was it another bad dream?" She asked and the little girl nodded silently "Do you want to talk about it?" She asked and the little girl shook her head and Jon moved to the bed and picked Sophie up in his arms effortlessly

"Don't you know you don't talk about bad dreams?" He asked his wife "You don't give into them" he shook his head as he walked out of the room

Renee watched her husband disappear down the stairs with Sophie and left him be with her.

After a few hours of not hearing movement downstairs she decided to go investigate and she found her husband. Her manly, tough as nails husband was laying on the couch, eyes transfixed on the TV and Sophie fast asleep tucked into his side under the throw blanket.

"What are you doing?" Renee laughed

"What does it look like?" He looked up at her and then pointed to the tv "I'm trying to figure out why this Olaf likes summer so much"
