"Meet me at the parking lot immediately after school" Ender said nonchalantly

"Woah, woah, woah, who said anything about going to your house to do the assignment. Why not mine?" I asked getting angry

"Firstly,you DO NOT yell at me, secondly, if you don't come I will drag your little ass to the car, thirdly, I hate being in places I have never been before" He smirked a devilish one and I rolled my eyes

For some reason he does not scare me

"Firstly" I said mimicking him

"You have no right to make decisions for me, secondly, I do not have a little ass-"

"Well by the time I'm done with it, it would be more than little" I rolled my eyes again

"Thirdly-"

"Don't roll your eyes at me" He said interrupting me yet again

"Whatever, thirdly, always being at a spot dulls the brain, well so my mom says, you won't get used to a place if you don't go there" I said trying to convince him

"Well your mom only says that because she knows she has someone like you"

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked

"Just meet me at the parking lot. Don't be late" He said walking away

"Yeah don't be late" I said doing my little impression of Ender

Even though I am just meeting him, I am beginning to hate him already and he happens to be my chemistry partner for the rest of the semester

After school I decided to stay in the school hall for a while before texting my brother that I won't be going home with him

"Why?😕" he texted almost immediately

"I am going to a friend of mine house to do an assignment😇" I replied

"Does that friend happens to be Summer?😐" he asked

Come to think of it, I have not seen her since our last class

"No😳" I replied

"Then who?😒" He texted

"Can you stop being overprotective for once😡"

"Well dad's asking"

"How? When you just left school?😜😏"

"Just answer the question......who are you going to be with?"

"A friend" I replied before switching off the phone

My brother is a high school student meaning he is allowed to bring car but middle school students are not allowed

My brother just entered high school meaning he is in grade 10 while I'm in grade 8 with Ender who I probably think knows everything the same way I do

Placing my phone into my bag, I heard my name being called

Looking back I saw Summer lunging at me and then we both fell with a little thud

"Where have you been?" I asked Summer getting her off me

"Well a teacher asked me to help him with some work in his office" she replied as we both stood up

"Who?" I asked curious to know

"Oh, he is our new physics teacher and also he is Enders dad"

I just looked at her plainly

"You know Ender... the new kid" she continued stating it like it is obvious even though it is

"Rumor says he is really handsome,I hope to bump into him one day" she said

"Well your wish has been granted by me your wonderful gene" I said smiling from ear to ear

"I don't get" She said confused

"Well I and Ender were paired for chemistry assignment throughout the whole semester, so you can join us anytime you want" I said and she smiled

I mean come on, I can't be with Ender all the time alone at his house seeing that we are always receiving assignment from our chemistry teacher and that he won't agree to come to my house no matter how hard I beg

"Woah that's cool" she said after some seconds

"Yeah I know" I said smiling and then the smile dropped when I saw Ender coming towards our direction

"I thought I warned you not to be late" He said sternly

"Yeah I heard, I was about to come when-"

"Enough with the excuse" He said interrupting me for like the fourth time today

"I expected you to be at home by now Ender" Ender father I think says clearly coming out of nowhere

"Yes sir, but I and Ms. Vanderwood over here were given a group assignment and I decided to come call her so that we can head home to do it" Ender said formally

I don't know why he is being so formal to his father

I can practically sense the tension rising

"Well you have to walk home then because I don't think you are ready to go" He said and Ender narrowed his eyes at me

If looks could kill I would probably be dead by now

"Oh hi Summer" he said turning his attention to Summer

"Hi Mr. Edwards" she said and I caught a glimpse of Ender rolling his eyes

"Don't be late" Mr. Edwards said looking Ender dead in the eyes

Now I know where Ender got that from and I can swear I saw a flash of fear cross Enders face before he masked it up with a smile and then looked at me

"I won't"
