Chapter Twenty Three

"How on earth did you get her here?"

"Let me tell you it wasn't easy by any means. She pretty much gave it all she had when trying to get her into the carrier. Dan and I almost gave up because we didn't think we would ever get her in, but after a few move tugs and pushes we finally got her in." Luke said as he made his way over to me.

"Is that why Dan has been so distant this week? Because he was helping you with this?"

Luke laughed and nodded his head. "Dan is absolutely the worst person to tell a secret to. He doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut when it comes to surprises. So not only was he helping me plan everything out, but he was also avoiding you so he wouldn't ruin the secret."

Now everything made sense to me. I thought Dan was acting weird this week. I couldn't believe him and Luke had planned this out. I couldn't believe Luke had done such a cute and romantic thing for me. Before I knew it found myself jumping into his arms and kissing him. At first I could tell that I had caught him off guard, but after her regained his stance he kissed me back deeply.

We went on kissing like this for a while. Luke gently laid me onto the grass and started to run his hands up and down my body. I could feel myself getting excited by his touch. Luke had this effect on me like no one else had. He could make me turn into putty just by looking at me. I wanted to continue, god did I want to, but I wanted my first time to be special. Not fairytale special or unrealistically special but it at least wanted it to be inside and on a bed.

I gently moved my lips away from Luke's. I watched as he groaned l out loud from the loss of my lips. I couldn't help but smile because I knew he needed me just as much as I needed him. He stayed still on top of me for a moment before her moved his head from in between my neck and shoulder to look at me.

He smiled down at me and he kissed my nose. "You are intoxicating, do you know that?" He then stood up and reached his hands out to me. I grabbed onto them and he helped me onto my feet. "Okay love it's time to teach you how to horseback ride. Luke took my hand and lead me into the gated area.

"Okay first I should teach you how to put the saddle on correctly." Luke proceeded to teach me to put saddle onto a horse. It took me a couple of tries, but once I figured it out, it was extremely easy to do. "Okay great now were going to get on to the horses."

Finally, we get to the good stuff. I watched as Luke easily got onto his horse. He did it with such grace and authority. He made it look easy. "Okay I've got this." I said to him as I made my way over to Princess. She just stood there waiting for me. I put left foot into the stirrup and tried to pull myself up. It wasn't working at first. I heard Luke laugh from the side of me.

I turned to look at him, I must be given him that if looks could kill look because he stopped laughing. "I'm sorry love, do you need some help?" He asked me as he got off his horse. I shook my head at him.

"No I have to learn to do it by myself. I tried to jump up this time and it worked except I didn't stop when I was on Princess, I fell over to the other side landing on my butt. Luke instantly came over to me.

"Danielle are you okay?" Luke asked me as he crouched down beside me. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. I had let my ego get by the best of me.

"I think I need a little help." I said to him as he helped me back up. He laughed at my word.

"Just a little." He said to me with a smile. Okay face princess with your right shoulder next to her side. Gently put your left foot in the stirrup, and then pick up your reins. You should give yourself a couple jumps before you fully jump up." I did as he said and started to jump up and down a few times. " Okay now take one more big jump and gently move your right leg over to the other side. When you go to sit down do it easily so Princess has time to get use to you being up there."

I did actually what Luke said, I jumped up and swung my leg over. I couldn't believe that I was finally up on Princess. I gently sat down on her. I smiled at Luke, I was so excited I could barely contain my happiness.

"Look at you, my girlfriends a cowgirl! I laughed at his words. "Okay let me get on bullet and we can reach you how to ride." He walked over to the horse and quickly got onto him. He walked the horse over to my right side. Okay now to move lightly whip the reins."

I did so and Princess started to walk forward. "Good now if you want her to turn you light kick which side you want her to turn to." I lightly kicked the left side of her and Princess turned left. I couldn't believe that I was actually horseback riding!

We must have spent hours out here with Luke teaching me many different things. I caught on really quick and before you knew it I didn't need Luke to help or tell me what to do. I had a blast with Luke, this was something that I would never forget. The experience is like no other, it's life changing.

We had just put the horses away when it started to rain heavily. Luke started to run to the house but I stood still where I was. I loved the rain. Luke must have noticed I wasn't with him because he turned back around and ran up to me. "What are you doing? You'll caught a cold in all this rain." He said to me as be tried to pull me with him. I pulled him back and he looked at me.

"Dance with me?" I said to him. He looked at me like I was crazy. "I've always wanted to dance in the rain with someone, dance with me Luke." Hearing my words made him smile. He grabbed me into his arms and started to dance with me. The rain was falling down around us heavily and we were soaked, but none of that matter at the moment. I didn't care about anything but Luke and I at the moment.

Luke leaned down to kiss me. I eagerly except his kiss. I wish there would have been someone there to take our picture. That way I would remember this moment for forever. I quickly pushed the thought aside because there was no way I was going to forget this moment. Because standing here in the rain, kissing Luke was where I realized I was in love with him!
