With the cherry blossoms gliding through the air, your lipgloss, and globe of the Earth keychain clinking against each other. Your pink lips formed into a smile... you were damn ready for high school. People always say it's a new world or a new chapter in your life and yes, to a certain extent you agree. But the only thing that you were excited about is freedom-- freedom to do what the hell you want. It doesn't matter what is it yet, but you were eager to get the taste of it.
"F/n, you're late," said the brown short-haired girl leaning against the gate like some cool manga character. Her name is Chitanda Aimi; she's tall, gorgeous and wealthy. Although none of that mattered because you firmly believed you were prettier than her.
You raised your chin and smirked. "I was basking in the sun's glory," replying confidently, you smiled. Her forehead knotted as she looked at you.
"What the hell does that even mean?"
"Exactly what I said," you replied. Aimi sighed and rolled her eyes. She then looked at her wrist which showed a new expensive watch.
"Woah, you got a new one?" you asked, all interested in her new accessory.
"Yeah, I got bored with the rose gold so I threw it away," she sighed. Aimi rolled her tongue and made a sound of complaint.
"I'm not waiting for her. She's always late, it's annoying." The birds flew by as she slipped her pink bag on her shoulder and walked away.
"But the plan was to wait for her here," you protested, which caused Aimi to glare at you.
"R-right..." you clenched your fist as you followed her. You hated to admit it, but Aimi seemed more like the leader of the group-- and that pisses you off. You've always thought it was about wealth, that the wealthiest one gets to lead the group, but you were wrong. It was always her assertive and scary nature that made you and the other girl at the bottom of the food chain.
As the two of you enter the busy hallways filled with excitement, you couldn't help but feel annoyed at the students rudely blocking their way.
"Move," declared Aimi as she faced a tall boy with dark-grayish green hair. Unsurprisingly, he flinched at her piercing glare and immediately moved away.
'Tsk, what with them?'
'I know them from my junior high. They think they're all mighty just because they're rich and pretty...'
'Don't you know? The girl behind her is the daughter of a politician...'
'Seriously?'
Whispers filled around the hallways as you walked and you couldn't help but smile. 'Yes, gossip about us. After all, that's where we feed off from. The more you talk, the bigger we get,' You bragged. As rude as it sounded, you find excitement when people talk about you. You are the prettiest and the wealthiest, after all. You love attention, no matter what kind.
The door swayed loudly as Aimi forces it open and it inevitably gathered everyone's attention.
"The seats we want are taken," you murmured to your friend. But of course, the confidence in her face never wears off. This is where she does her magic.
Aimi walked toward a group of boys who were sitting by the window seats and put on the fakest smile she could ever put.
"Hey guys, do you mind if we take your spots? My friend and I really want to sit here," sparkly-eyed and all, Aimi innocently asked them. The red tints on the boys' cheeks made it obvious that her work paid off.
