Silas stepped inside the room the minute I woke up and I could feel his cold stare burning into the side of my face. He sat on the edge of the hospital bed in a maroon colored suit before reaching up and moving a piece of white hair from my eyes. Then, his tongue ran over his lips slowly. "You're fever went down, I heard." It went down two days ago. "That's good, you're healing. Though you would be healing much easier if that boss of yours actually didn't hold you back." Hold me back? My eyes widened and I looked at him. Dropping the question, a knew one replaced it. Does he know my boss? I don't even know who he is, how does he?
"Don't worry, I know a lot of things about your boss and he made it way to obvious. Got pissed that day when he demanded my help and I said no. However, I didn't except him to send someone to kill me. How stupid of him," He chuckled out darkly. "I really just wanted to not believe. I mean, I didn't want to believe that he was that much of an idiot. And there are plenty of people who would want me killed so I just needed you to confirm it."
"I don't know who exactly my boss is..." I said quietly and looked at him. "I don't know a lot about who I work for. I just go and kill and come back." A frown tugged after Silas's lips. "Once I'm healed, what will you do with me? Keep me down in that dungeon forever? Or will you kill me?"
"...I haven't decided what exactly to do yet. Maybe I'll keep you as a cute little pet, hm?" He leaned towards me but I flinched back, tucking my face into my shoulder. I readied myself to be flipped over and used again, my eyes watering up. But, it never came and that made me confused...scared....happy? Slowly, I turned to look at Silas. He looked angry with me. Maybe because I turned away?
"I'm sorry. I won't move away again," I said bluntly. "You can use me, don't punish me?"
"...Use you? What the fuck are you talking about?"
"..." I stayed quiet before looking down at my lap since I was sat up in the bed. I shouldn't talk to him anymore, why would I even talk to the person I'm supposed to kill. Silas was still staring at me he before muttered something under his breath that I couldn't quite make out.
"I have to go now. Maybe I'll send Nicholas in here to entertain you. Oh and we found that body inside the maintenance closet. You're lucky I'm not pissed about that anymore." Silas winked at me and got up from the bed slowly. When did he find the body?
About an hour later, a familiar looking girl came in with a tray of food. Usually the nurse was the one who brought me the small soups and slices of fruit. That's all I would really eat because I didn't really each much back home. She placed the food in the desk that rolled over the bed and she positioned in front of me. I looked up at her while she gave me an encouraging smile. "I'm Ella. I was told to just call you Six," She said before pouring me a cup of water and placing it on the desk. Then she placed a straw in it. "I'm gonna feed you today since the nurse that usually takes care of you had to stay home. Her kid got sick and you know mother's. They can't just leave their child alone," Ella sighed out.
"..." Mothers love their children a lot, don't they? "It's not Six...it's number 6," I corrected her and stared down at the fruit. Ella hummed and shook her head.
"No. Cause that means that you don't have a name. So we're going with Six as your name and we won't be calling you Number 6," She said in a strict tone before smiling brightly at me. "Can I feed you now? I bet your hungry, it's been at least two hours since you've eaten right?" I frowned and looked over at her before sighing.
"I want to feed myself." Her lips pulled into a frown and she glanced around with a bit of uncertainty. "Well...how about I feed you this meal and we can talk to Silas and A-...and Nicholas about that, okay?" I narrowed my eyes slightly before chewing on my lower lip.
"Fine."
Dinner time came around and again Ella brought the food with her. But Silas and Nicholas didn't come in with her which made me confused. She said that we could talk about that the next time I had to eat but there was no one to talk to. Ella seemed to notice the uncomfortable look on my face and she placed the tray down with a heavy sigh. "I know I said I would get them to talk with you but...Silas...was busy today..."
"Doing what?" I asked laying back. Ella slowly shrugged and chewed on her bottom lip.
"He has a lot of people he meets up with. And he has paperwork. Trust me, it's not because he wants to keep you trapped here, he just gets really busy. He does run this place, ya know?" Ella gave me a crooked smile. "I can't free your hands. Not even one because you could escape or hurt me and then escape." She reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear. I would try to escape, but I don't think I would hurt her unless she tried to stop me. But I also really did want to feed myself because it made me uncomfortable to be fed by someone else. I wouldn't even like it if Damon or Sebastian fed me.
"...I just...I don't want to be fed anymore..." I whispered quietly. Ella looked at me as her eyebrows furrowed gently. She sighed and stood up, inching towards the bed.
"Are you right handed or left handed?"
"I...use both of my hands," I whispered. "It does matter to me." She only nodded and freed my left hand. I picked up the fork once the dinner was slid over to me. It was the same thing I had for lunch, so I began eating the soup first.
"Ella, thank you," I said after taking my first bite. She sat back down and sighed softly.
"Please don't tell Silas about this—" The door swung open and much to Ella's disappointment, Silas walked in, shutting the door behind him. He looked at her then slowly looked over at me. His gaze zeroed in on my freed hand.
"Ella, are you fucking serious—"
"He said he wanted to eat on his own!" She cried out with a whiny tone. Her lower lip popped out into a pout.
"Get out. Go get something to eat," Silas grumbled out, holding the door open for her. Ella got up and walked out with her head hung low in shame. He closed the door once again and locked it. Silas walked over and freed my other hand before grabbing my wrists in a tight hold. His forehead pressed right up against my and out eyes bore into each other. A weird sensation traveled up my body as we stared dead on at each other.
"You try to escape, I'm gonna have to cripple you. You may be really good at fighting, but I guarantee you that what ever your holding back makes it easier to put you in your place right now. Not to mention your still injured. Eat. I'm staying right here." He sat on a chair, really close to me. His eyes followed my hands as they shook. I picked up some fruit with a fork and popped it into my mouth. I chewed slowly because my jaw hurt a little from being punched there once during the interrogation. My eyes watched the prongs of the fork sink into the melon before I popped another piece into my mouth. I swallowed gently before moving to the soup and taking a couple of spoon fulls. I grabbed the fork again before looking over at him.
"...When did you find the body?" I asked.
"Shortly after we captured you. Someone found it and reported it. You're pretty smooth, you know that?" He leaned forward with a smirk. I studied his face before shrugging.
"I wouldn't be a good assassin if I wasn't..." I whispered. Silas narrowed his eyes at me and my heart began to beat in my chest quickly. The mission is to kill him and I have to try. I flipped the fork in my hand and raised my arm quickly, before driving it towards his left eye. Silas growled so loudly, I swore I felt the room shake, and he caught my hand just when I was about to do it. My eyes widened and the prongs hummed just inches from his eye. I tried to push forward before flinching as his grip tightened around my wrist. His other hand ripped the utensil from my grip and he stood up, staring down at me.
"Nice try," he growled out, eyes glowing red. This time I knew it wasn't a hallucination.
